  1. The panasonic one uses power from the reverse light, so only powered when in reverse (which they all could do i suppose), saving wear and tear(and also a much neater installation). But i am using my tv tuner to switch the screen by connecting the orange wire on the TV tuner to the reverse light, this will automatically switch the tuner to AV1 (reverse cam). So the whole thing only operates if the TV tuner is on. One thing I have noticed, is that it also works well in the dark, seems to enhance the pic somehow for low light. Easy enough to do without a tuner, just connect straight to your AV1 in back and power from reverse light. You have one problem with this camera, it is PAL, you will need an NTSC cam. cheers
  2. wanna buy my car ? but seriously, feel free to post his name and address, i'm sure a few people would love to do some 'drive-bys' with some googy eggs. Guy who bought my 33 failed as well to lodge rego papers, received about 5 speeding and parking fines shortly after. got it sorted though. Hopefully a court case or two will fix things for you...then the revenge starts.
  3. get yourself a good lawyer, bank records, anything, then counter claim this tool for defamation.
  4. Not a prob, yes left one, sprayed some silicon to help it slide through.
  5. got a higher res pic of it, anyone pm me your email address and ill send, SAU's limit is 2mb.
  6. Reverse cam installed today, only modifications were a 10mm hole with grommet just above the cam behind the plastic and a slight recess in the plastic to let the cable through from cam to grommet. Everything else was straight forward, tapped into reverse light wire inside boot, ran it and video cable down boot, through rubber separator, into control unit and then to TV tuner. Camera only required 3 wires, one to reverse light, earth and rca video. Camera comes on automatically when reverse is selected. No more backing into my trailer i hope. http://panasonic.jp/car/navi/products/camera/CY-RC50D.html
  7. relay installed as well, hopefully stronger signal as well, although i dont really need it where i live. We will see when we head out of city.
  8. So, you got all your stations back again ? The problem with digital boxes is when you change regions, the rescan clears your previous channels, but its only a 2min job I guess. Ill definitely use a relay for the amps, save having them on all the time. Ill send out a PM to those who bought with factory amps just to update them.
  9. should be Jatco RE4R01A , written on your build plate.
  10. Jeff, checked mine, also goes to 8V when connected to aerials. (which I suppose indicates that amps are working) Which makes me think 2 things: You have a continuity problem with your aerials or a problem with your box. Ive had correspondence with another member who said he had lost reception because the aerials had lost continuity where the coax plugs into the factory window aerials at the glass, something else to check. I can send you the 'stick on' aerials to help diagnose your prob, ie see if your aerials are the prob, or if you have them, you can try connecting them to some home tv 'rabbit ears' eg. If no luck then I can send you another box. The other thing is that the voltage drop might be a sign that the unit doesnt have the grunt to power 2 amplifiers, so we should all be running the amps through a relay (which ill do soon). I remember when I was testing the factory amps, I got a voltage of around 10-11V when they were on and connected through the factory tuner. Any sparkies out there confirm that this is a sign of big current draw ? Anyway firstly try connecting the amps straight to a 12V and see if you get reception. Let me know results. (ps did you reset the country to OZ when you reset unit ?)
  11. $77 from here http://www.jsai.com.au/shop/product_info.php?products_id=211 can't see just jap and unique selling many more of those at that price
  12. From what I understand, the system requires elderley and young drivers to display a 'leaf' symbol on the back. Autumn brown leaf for elderley and green spring leaf for youngsters.
  13. Gday, I want to keep the factory number plate bracket, the problem is behind the reo, even removing all the number plate and backing will still not get air to behind reo. Not an immense problem, just seeing if others had done anything. I had to cut about an inch out of the reo bar I think to make it fit, reprayed it, looks factory.
  14. the rectangular vents on the N1 GTR front bumpers next to the number plate. http://www.jsai.com.au/shop/popup_image.php?pID=76 as a good deal of my intercooler is flush up against my bar reo, the S2 bumpers werent designed for good FMIC flow. As you can see i have already cut some bumper out below the number plate to help airflow.
  15. thinking about installing some GTR style bumper vents, help with intercooler and auto cooler. Found these ones, half the price of just-jap and looks better quality. http://www.jsai.com.au/shop/product_info.php?products_id=211 Anyone fitted R32 or 33 vents to S2s before ? how do they line up with the bumper curve ? These guys look like thet make their own fibreglass bumper kits etc, nice if we could get them to pump out some DAYZ kits.
  16. agree, stay away from wreckers if possible, especially one out near 'Seventeen mile rocks', rip you off then tell you what a great deal they are doing for you. Having said that, picked up a starter motor on a Sunday from an import wreckers at Burleigh a year ago, they were very helpful.
  17. a locksmith can easily key all barrels the same, only 1 key
  18. HKS and NENGUN lists 3 types: STD type pressure sensor supervision types Type H hot wire type air flow meters Type K3 Karmann type air flow meters http://www.nengun.com/hks/fuel-cut-defencer Stageas and Skylines, hot wire airflow meter, Type H. Are these FCD's variable resistors to reduce the voltage of the AFM at high revs ? if so, sounds a little dangerous without dynotuning. Sounds like there is a bigger problem if it is hitting boost cut so soon, possibly consider an APEXI AFC /dynotune to get your mixtures (and AFM voltages) right. My AFC reduces the AFM signal by around 12% at high revs which keeps me well clear of 'boost cut' as well as the extra hp through better air/fuel mixture. Security tip: those with AFC Neo's, leaving your car unattended for a while, change your 'Air flow meter type' to 'Karmann' from 'hot wire', won't start or run.
  19. In Japan for past 2 weeks, only saw 2 M35's on the road in all that time, whereas saw scores of C34's. Nothing wrong with the M35's, prob my next car, but don't think they were a big seller for Nissan in Japan, which may explain why Stageas are now out of production. We will have to wait and see what there next sports wagon will be, if any.
  20. never bother replacing just one, get yourself some SPLITFIRES, around $500 for the set.
  21. thought this might interest some, scanned it from V36 brochure.
  22. Item:R35 GTR Nissan Promo DVD(ntsc) and Brochure Age:New Condition:New Price:$30 posted ($10 if anyone wants a copy of dvd, posted) Location:Brisbane Contact:pm Comments:DVD is about 1 hour and in Japanese, Sales Brochure is 15 pages.
  23. You would need a contact in Japan, Panasonic aren`t very forthcoming with there Japanese range in Oz.
  24. colour, just rca video plug and power/earth, plug straight into factory tuner or my digital tuner(which has reverse camera auto switch)
