  1. Reference on the ALPINE site. scroll down to ' Steering remote ready ', talks about using the factory steering buttons. http://www.alpine.com.au/support/glossary.asp Is the head unit clarion ? Could be compatable with an aftermarket Clarion ? Either way, if you talk to the right car sound people (not JB), it is highly likely you can keep them working.
  2. Sounds low, Im managing around 500 per tank.
  3. No amplifier, just a screen, aftermarket single din stereo will be a good upgrade. You will lose the ability to play CD's on the Xanavi and you might lose the functionality of the steering volume unless you are talentled with electronics and can integrate it with your aftermarket one somehow.
  4. mxfly, what is the setup on the M35's ? AV inputs in back as in the C34's ? have you checked out the aerial setup ? perhaps someone with a M35 can post some pics ?
  5. A stacker can't compare with an mp3-dvd head unit, not to mention the sound improvement over the factory head unit. Got rid of mine as soon as possible. Dont know where that pic is, there are quite a few dozen wires going into back of the xanavi, did you want to compare the air-con connections ?
  6. Do you mean that you want to use the AV inputs on the front of the xanavi and play this through an aftermarket headunit ? if someone could pin-out the right wires on the back it should be possible, as well as play cd's on the xanavi. But considering the low price of quality headunits with front inputs these days, it wouldnt be worth the hassle.
  7. http://www.nengun.com/koyo/radiator got mine through here, KOYO, around 50mm thick, full polished, welded aluminium, direct bolt in
  8. FAST lists the options as: Aero bumper Twin sunroof
  9. " I posted this in an earlier post "The earliest S2 I can find in FAST is WGNC-120001 which was Aug 1998, so August appears to be the changover. The last S1 found is WGNC34-111092 Jul-98" this one is WGNC34-111050, one of the last S1s. Some of the photos of the interior dont match, black dials in one (s1), white in other(s2), so he's just used some incorrect photos.
  10. SAFCs will have minimal effect on your economy, as when you are cruising (closed loop) the ECU reads the O2 sensor and constantly adjusts to achieve the preset mixture. The SAFC will save you some fuel when you are hard on the throttle (open loop), where it uses the air flow meter signal. A lot of tuners won't even bother to tune the low throttle map on the SAFCs, as mine did. http://www.hondahookup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92218 Other than an aftermarket ECU the best thing to do is make sure your engine is running as efficient as possible, ie new platinum plugs, new fuel filter and pump, new air filter, new O2 sensor, splitfire coil packs and drive 'off boost' whenever possible.
  11. bought in japan... I thought x-trail might have come out in QT1 ?? Nissan usually sell touch up paint. If you were in brissie you could help yourself to mine.
  12. Thanks for the advice, I didnt have much say in what they used, i made suggestions, but they did what they wanted anyway. Ive been waiting until i fit the 2nd set of camber bushes in rear so as to get the camber down below 1, then ill get everything corrected, ill take onboard your suggestions. Would you recommend 0 toe all round for normal street use ? One thing though, The front camber is close to 1 degree, not 0.5 as you say, as the units are degrees/minutes/seconds ie 60 minutes in 1 degree. What do you mean by split left to right ?
  13. There is a section in the STAGEA workshop manual for xanavi and consult system, although would probably display in japanese. Also appears to be a manual diagnostic which unlocks all sorts of hidden menu screens. The manual diagnostic mode for the air con system is activated by holding down the OFF button after turning on IGN power. Here are some pics for the curious, these are from an R34, but the instructions are the same for XANAVI and normal AC systems in Stageas. interesting the a diagram from the workshop manual displays 'air conditioner' in english, whereas mine is in Japanese, maybe it can be changed through CONSULT ??
  14. Here's my alignment details after I fitted TEINs and camber bushes.
  15. should be a square plug that sticks out, on side of box, fill it up till it overflows out.
  16. good info here http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/Tu...amp;pid=3581542
  17. shouldnt be noisy, just a slight whistle especially from aftermarket pipes. Could have a chipped blade, or an air leak, easy enough for a mechanic to check.
  18. so...shouldnt you just use an R33 pfc ?
  19. The ECU uses voltage from these sensors to know what the temp is, but you can also do a resistance test when it is unplugged, hope this helps.
  20. Yes, that's the trans cooler. I do a bit of towing so I got a shift kit installed and also run a 2nd cooler in the lower bumper, Its directly in the air flow there. I cut some air flow slots in wheel arch surround (similar to intercooler slots on other side). Since I fitted a FMIC it completely blocks the factory transmision cooler, drawing the intercoolers hot air, so im thinking to move it up as high as possible, to get it into the clean air from the main grill.
  21. yep, check my DIY pdf and youll see them in left panel inside boot.
  22. here you go, buttons on screen are : MAP MENU AREA ZOOM DETAIL MONITOR/TV VIDEO (AV1 in) AUDIO (AV1 in) enjoy
  23. which should make yours H5920-0v704, .....QT1 colour I assume.
  24. Are these air inlet 'boxes' on the DAYZ bumper standard ? they look similar to the later 32 GTR ones. Wouldnt mind them if i could find a set.
  25. You wont need vin if you have the correct full part #, which depends on your colour and year, see pics.
