  1. That's Chris Neale's old thing.... didn't it have an almighty smack somewhere????? Mute point anyway, SOLD. The ex White's R34 (Genuine N1) was a bargain beside those R33's (with the exception of the Tassie N1)....... yes it needed some sorting but as an investment, walked over them. Has some good stuff on it too.
  2. Phuck bolts, too heavy. Zip ties and black Sika is where its at.
  3. A close friend has owned a C55 AMG for a year or so, it's been a superb car and 100% reliable. Admittedly it was a real standout car done a log booked 40,000klm and appears new. Be aware to outrageous parts costs. Some grub stole the little mesh parts that fit around the inner lights (no doubt for his C180) and they cost over $1500 to replace. Nice daily driver, and in my opinion, a better car (no not as fast) than the current C63 AMG.
  4. lol, who mentioned anything about 90k? LOL
  5. What is your budget on top of your WRX mate? (I'm assuming you have a budget, lucky bugger if you don't! lol)
  6. You could never legally tow a car and trailer with a 33 GTR, or any GTR.
  7. I just received my confirmation...... something that leaves me a little confused considering I emailed Helen a couple of weeks ago saying I don't want to go! LOL AND I know of several other people sweating on their entry being accepted so maybe I can palm mine off to one of them
  8. This man speaks the truth.
  9. when I say package deal I don't mean "beer packaging' lol
  10. How about I sell you my street GTR and my track/rally 32/ The perfect garage! I even have a trailer for you.... can you say.... PACKAGE DEAL!?!?!
  11. To be perfectly honest, from my point of view, I've had both GTR and now a cheaper RWD so feel as though I can have an opinion and share it with you...... - If I couldn't afford to own and build an absolutely balls out GTR like Giants R32, I would gladly stick with a RWD 32/33 or S platform, and be quicker than 99% or the GTR crowd regardless. Heck, even Giant reckons my thing is "the perfect all-rounder" and "no one expect you to be any good in it which makes it sweeter when you go out and smash them!". And I still cannot believe how cheap the car is to campaign.
  12. Hey! You asked! lol and don't razz me, I'm an angry old f*ker.
  13. And you can Jam GTR's, great things though they are if they're mega horsepower, mega braked, mega tyred, mega dollar things, but for most of us mere mortals, they're not an affordable competition car. No "street type" GTR that I know of is quicker around a challenging track like Lakeside than my GTS-t, or Harry's 180, or Callum's 180....... or that bloody 80's Escort, or heaps of other things.
  14. Bro, nothin was going around that corner. I didn't hear the nav's call for the corner, came over the crest and where I thought it was going straight, it ummm, it turned hard left. No amount of GTR/4WD or anything was making it go around. I was flat in 4th 80 metres before the corner lol
  15. My ears are burning...... are we playing soggy Sao? .... Roy is always losing that game, I think he likes losing.
  16. Yes I think someone needs an update! lol
  17. No, went last year, is like watching grass grow. Cars a SOOO slooooooow.
  18. Just received this email, not to be missed!; GODZILLA VS WALKINSHAW AT LAKESIDE SPEED FEST The stage is set for an epic showdown on August 7 & 8 when the original "Godzilla" takes on the very first Walkinshaw Commodore in a battle of the historic touring car titans. The Lakeside Classic Speed Fest is the event, the fast, flowing bends of the iconic Lakeside Park raceway the venue and two of Australia's landmark touring cars the lead warriors in retro stoush sure to have race fans pining for the "good old days". "Godzilla" of course is the infamous Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, driven to victory in the 1992 Australian Touring Car Championship (ATTC) and 1992 Bathurst 1000 by "gentleman" Jim Richards. Now owned and raced by Hope Island resident Terry Ashwood, the mighty Skyline was dubbed Godzilla by the motoring press after it monstered all comers in the '92 ATTC. "I've had the car since 2001," explained Mr Ashwood, "and it still runs its original Winfield livery and exact mechanical specifications." Considered by Nissan aficionados as a true "global" car, this R32 chassis number five, is valued at well over $1m but still competes with all its potent force when the green flag comes down. The Skyline's fierce rival on August 7/8 is the first ever Walkinshaw Commodore, now owned by New South Welshman Norman Mogg. Originally campaigned by Neil Crompton and Win Percy for the Holden Racing Team, this car took seventh place at the 1989 Bathurst 1000 and has recently been completely restored following a 2007 Phillip Island smash. Starting life as a 1988 Brock Commodore the car was taken to England by Tom Walkinshaw who designed the love it or hate it body kit. After extensive wind tunnel testing Tom Walkinshaw brought the Holden back to Australia as the first ever Walkinshaw racing car and the prototype for the road-going (and now highly collectable) Walkinshaw Commodores. In the Lakeside Classic Speed Fest's Group A/C Touring car category Godzilla and Walkie will also be up against Rod Markland's 1991 R32 Nissan Skyline (in original GIO livery), Carey McMahon's 1988 Nissan Skyline HR31 GTS-R (as raced by Mark Skaife), George Nittis' ex-Damon Hill British Touring Car Championship Ford Sierra and Chris Bowden's Mazda RX-7, to name just a few. Held over two action-packed days, the Lakeside Classic Speed Fest is a multi category event featuring racing, sprints, regularity, a mini hill climb and the Shannons Show and Shine. Other touring car classes to take you back in time include Group N and the ever-popular Australian Trans Am Championship. Group N will see titanic tussles between Aussie legends such as Falcon GTs, XU1 Toranas, Ford Escorts and Holden Monaros, while the Trans Am series unleashes the fattest group of American muscle this side of Detroit. The Lakeside Classic Speed Fest also features trade stalls, the Shannons Super Rig and the Queensland Motorsport Museum. With entry at just $20 per day and free entry for kids under thirteen the Lakeside Classic Speed Fest is one family event not to be missed! Lakeside Classic Speed Fest Lakeside Park - Lakeside Road, Kurwongbah Saturday, August 7 & Sunday August 8, 9am - 4pm Entry is $20 Saturday, $20 Sunday, $30 weekend pass, children 12 and under free, students 13-16 and pensioners $10 each day, payable at the gate Lakeside Park is also only 10 minutes walk from Dakabin railway station
  19. it's a "tarmac Rally, not a hillclimb..... there's many more costs associated in running a true tarmac rally, not to mention the organisers are all driven there in Rolls Royce Silver Shadows.
  20. Gtr's are seriously overated circuit cars. They have So many foibles, so I'd stick with a gtst, and f**k it, chuck a sequential hollinger in it, don't overpower it, get it light, and enjoy wiping smiles off there faces.
  21. Last time I saw that car it was parked on a Falcon's roof on the Rhianna stage. LOL
  22. This.......... THIS my friends. This. Is GOLD.
  23. I would get them from justjap.com.au mate. They're a vendor on here.
  24. If you're fair dinkum mate, I'd say this; 1. The glowing manifolds is pretty standard after a long hard run, especially visible in the dark. You probably wouldn't really notice them glowing in full daylight. 2. The missing and farting is likely going to be your coil packs failing. As they get old and when they get really hot they tend to open circuit and cause missfiring. If you haven't already done so, removing the cover (covering the coil packs) between the cam covers can alleviate the problem, or at least buy you some time (taking the cover off the coils lets the heat out).
