  1. I have in fact owned TWO of these SWB "GLS" shorties. One was a 3.0, the next a 3.5. They tow very well considering they're short. In fact, either engine is great, the 3.5 obviously a bit more grunty. I towed both cars and boats extensively well over 2 tonnes, never a drama. Watch them for oil use though. If they smoke at all, they're rooted. And they are also famous for noisy lifters, more an annoyance than anything. Great value for well under 10k even for a 3.5 these days. Great on the beach too (edit: any vehicle can and will be a pig of a tow car if the towball weights are not set up correctly)
  2. lol, I just wrote a really long detailed reply to my thoughts on servicing, but refrained. They say never burn a bridge.
  3. New Bromance getting in the way cuzzy brew?
  4. I'd like it in my garage! PM me a deal Stu,
  5. Shaun in a McLaren/Hamo Bromance sandwich?
  6. I'm rewatching the race now and I'm suprised how messy and how poor Alonso's lines were when he was chasing Sutil ( before he pits on lap 50) The dude gets fin wound up and turns to shit.
  7. That really is a crying shame Stu, you deserved to get more enjoyment from it before moving it on. I know how you feel though mate, I often think of selling the uneccesary "toys" and just learn to enjoy relaxing on the beach or something.
  8. Thankfully I chuck my old man in the car/trailer combo, while I fly But yes, stopping every few hours shits you, regardless of what the roadside "stop/revive/survive" says.
  9. Nice one you blardy poofta!
  10. No, I love this thing, and thats my short trip town figure (5klm to work), it does 13's on the highway. Plus, it's the best tow car ever for my race car AND takes me to Fraser Island for the holidays and sounds awesome. Worth every penny
  11. This is my daily - 22l/100klm (runs low 14's though ). LOLOL, I must be phucking mad.
  12. Lookin good Fatz We too have done a bit of towing lately, brisbane to Townsville and return last month, around 1500klm each way and fully loaded tools etc averaged 19l/100klm. Not too shabby for a 5.7l with 250kw/500nm. Needs a bigger tank for more range though. 75 liters sucks.
  13. A v8 Grand in this price bracket really is hard to beat, especially if you want to daily drive it too. I don't care what anyone says, they're good things. Avoid diesel versions, and try to find a HO Limited. Condition is more important than klm. Mine and most car trailers weigh around 600kg.
  14. Lol. Ok. Hilux huh. Says loads.
  15. Lol, yeah because a shorter, much lighter, more than double the capacity, huge horsepower capable, great sounding engine, well, that's just silly huh
  16. You're all mad. Meld these three cars together and you have a winner. 17. Text sent to your mobile mate.
  18. ^^^^^ there's another reason why we wont see rallies in NSW, cars need to be driven between stages, not trailered. The worlds gone farkin mad.
  19. They're very heavy. They need to be strong to keep the water out.
  20. I'm in Queensland so can't tell you anything about Vic sorry. I avoid driving mine, paranoid about getting pulled over. My 32 is a fully complied car not rally rego. However, I did go to the effort to have everything mod plated, brakes, 2 seater, cage (shhh about the intrusion bars), etc... I was pulled over one friday afternoon, bald R comp tyres, you know, and they let me off. Seeing my greying hair may have helped, as may have my prickling up when they suggested it was a drift car. I still trailer it mostly, and it would be a game man to take it for a spirited mountain drive.
  21. Oh, I'm ready to neck myself now.
  22. I would do that, but really don't get off on clubmans. To me they're neither car nor kart. If you wanna cheat and not have your wheels covered, go all the way.... Superkart
  23. We bought one of that JJR wheel for the budget GT4 build Noddy and it was quite good. Sent it back though as it was just toooooo dished for our application. We tried various others from JJR, but that particular suede wheel was the only one we couldn't twist into a pretzel just by staring at it. And yes, as the Snow says, don't go too small, most people do because they think it's "sporty". It also important that you can still see the dash gauges.
  24. I use a suede Momo wheel, and it is fantastic when wearing gloves, but feels like a blackboard without gloves. So, depends how you prefer to drive, gloves (get suede), naked (get leather).
  25. Since there'll be bikes at TT 2011, how long before we can expect to be able to run a SuperKart with GPS Co-Driver/Navigator in the full event? I reckon it could be the hot ticket for an outright, good value too.
