Well I was happy with about 3/4 pace, and hey, that makes us quicker than most on track anyway huh Basically don't get them too hot, and let them cool without weight on them.

I've towed far in excess of legal and manufacturer's limits too, the point I am trying to make is now I'm older and smarter I certainly wouldn't be risking (for arguments sake) a 40k tow car, a 30k race car, and a 4k trailer being totally uninsured if I was to have a major accident, keeping in mind if you run into another car and hurt someone, no insurance there either.

I've found this link quite good....... I know there's a lot of very very basic stuff there but I followed the suggestions to running in new tyres and found I got over 1000 competetive kays out of my last set of Dunlop O3G's. We used a 60 series 'Cruiser, which with brakes on all three trailer axles was legal is Qld but I don't think back then legal is NSW...... anyway, we digress........

Sure you can put a two tonne rated towbar on it, but it doesn't mean it will be legal. If the manufacturer states 1600kg, then 1600kg it is....... (as an aside does anyone know if the legalities of towing still vary massively from state to state? I remember many years ago it was always a drama when towing our 7 metre Sharkcat into NSW because the rules changed dramatically)

Again, it comes down to the costs of hosting this event, several hundred thousands of dollars is my guess, and somehow these costs need to be recouped. I see no problem with crew being charged an entry fee, after all they get complete access and are of course spectators also. Most major events I go to the crew registration attracts some form of monetary charge.

..... isn't the manual rated lower than the auto too? Anyway, isn't the 6 speed auto much better suited to the car, even unladen? I don't see the logic in towing with an underated tow vehicle, crash it and no insurance for anything, bye bye to both vehicles.

The offending valve that just came out of YT's engine....... definately would have caused a drama. lol

It was certainly a real mess (the '09 car), but it takes a lot to "write off" a vehicle of that value...... Like, YT bent his like a banana in 2006 after his big jump over a culvert drain (the extruded alloy chassis rails between the passengers and the engine) and it was repaired fine.

I know Weeks binned it but haven't seen pics. Was it the same old car repaired or a new one? And yeah, the Type R spec has transformed the Lambos, and they're actually getting the power you'd expect from them now too.
