  1. Lack of tyres was my issue if I'm to be honest. I can't justify running new expensive rubber for this event. And after that comment ya Tele-Tubby I'll be on the hill swilling piss with Fatz and the crew. Fix ya own shit.
  2. I'm always amused by the old "driver needs nav" thing...... like, what happened to the last poor bastard who sat beside you?
  3. I'm out too then, since entering Mt Stuart Sprint in Townsville I've been concerned about a car breakage and timing, so let Superlap slide. I'll be crewing for Berry/Newman though.
  4. Ahhh, dood, the Commy was going for a donut
  5. Did you see the dyno figure on page 9 of the link, I don't know if thats RWHP, but if it is, pretty impressive!
  6. Some time back I showed a link to a build thread of a mate's old E30 M3 in Europe. You may remember it was his 'Ring lapper and he blew the engine and a fellow bought it there and then on the back of a tilt tray. Well it's complete now and I gotta say, it's superb. http://opentrack.tqhq.ee/forum/viewtopic.p...=477&page=8
  7. Well I'm nowhere compared to Stevo-o but I'm also considering swapping to E85. Currently my 32 GTS-t runs a quite stock RB20, and hopefully some E85 could liven the old girl up. I'm running the standard in tank pump, with a 3 odd litre swirl tank and a Bosch 010 pump feeding GTR injectors. I've been told I'll need a new in tank lift pump to cope with E85 as the standard one will get eaten by it (how will the factory steel tank cope?), and I'm wondering if the 850cc injectors I have will cope flow wise?
  8. I personally think A050's are the quickest tyre out there at the moment, closely followed by the O3G's. Imo, the O3G's last a little better though. Need to keep in mind that compound/wear wise, a "soft" AO50 is really fairly equivalent the a "medium" O3G.
  9. I have 19 x 10.5 + 15's on mine with 285/30's and I only get the slightest of inner guard rub on full lock. Mine is quite low too.
  10. Very nicely done to the both of you
  11. I live at Reddy too and get Elvin at Brij's Auto to do all the work on my cars including my Targa Tasmania R32.
  12. Whats the "shortcut idea"?
  13. Bummer Benny! I was looking forward to seeing how you went!
  14. Firstly, I hope you have a ball Carey! Every car is different of course, but I would suggest running the same as my Targa car and setting it up to have the PCV valve empty the catch can on a trailing throttle. Basically the PCV sucks from the bottom of the catch can via the cam cover outlets, emptying it for you. Having to empty a traditional can setup at every opportunity (as we were forced to go when running the blue gtr) really has hairs on it.
  15. So guys, how many fast laps can one expect to get in? I'm wanting to decide on the tyre to run.
  16. I hope you guys have a ball!
  17. I'm relieved I didn't get all worked up and get tickets/accom for Albert Park! Very poor start to the year especially after last season's excellence.
  18. ..... but after all that Richard wouldn't you agree you'd be better served just getting an Evo 3 or 4 or 5? I've driven them all and know I would! (and I hate Evos!) lol
  19. Thread killer indeed! To be honest, I'd steer clear of a GTR as a "cheap" race car, they're harder on everything, needing uprating for just about everything. Get a GTS-t instead and take advantage of the cast-offs that the GTR guys don't want cheap (brakes etc). I did just this and haven't looked back.
  20. The Lotus does at least have the most beautiful set of front susp arms I've seen for a long time
