  1. Yeh but the Septics are the only ones who've recently started running slicks, Japan and Europe still run R comp as far as I'm aware. I like the use of R comp in the Open class as the tyre is the natural limiting factor of performance, sure you can a 11ty million killerwaspes but you got to be able to use it and get it down. That's why I'm going to smash them all with my internally standard RB20. Yep, you heard it here first, The Woo is gonna take out Open!
  2. Three times......
  3. I watch that lap at least once a week, immense piece of driving!
  4. Haha, it doesn't worry them, been goin on for years!
  5. Rest assured the OS cars won't have CAMS cages, so my bet it will be up to the chief scroot. I reckon if it doesn't look like a piece of shit made out of exhaust tube ala VN SS from Ipswich, then you're good to go bro.
  6. How good looking is he!!!!!
  7. Been thinking about this all night, and I'm really hoping everyone interested gets behind it guys, either as spectator or entrant. If this International Superlap flies this time around, going forward it will really be something special I reckon.
  8. So you guys get heaps of shitbox rusting oiling Alphas down there too huh? LOL Again said well Baron, I do see we can all be a prt of the "birth" if you like of a great yearly international event bringing the best cars the world has to offer here (and maybe sending some of our good over there), and if we have to pay a premium for that in comparison to a normal boring track day then so be it. So, who's car is available for a few track days leading up to the main event for the lil Queenslander to get some practice in? ha
  9. You're right, Ian is going way out on a limb and the amount of work he's put in it deserves to and will do well. I still find pro class a little rich though, I won't deny that.
  10. Fkn cheaters....... why do some people go to these lengths? Do they realise they're just cheating themselves, and the the sport? Name and shame I reckon!
  11. Looks like you might have to start lifing some of your parts Snowy? 10 years on front suspension maybe?
  12. No it doesn't, but if like me you have non-factory door cards to allow cage fitment, then you're in Pro.
  13. For what it's worth, I know SL is costing a fortune to put on. Heck, the big screen required is something like 20k rental!! (needed as there is no time board for spectators to know times etc)
  14. Well done everyone, been looking through the results and Newton, mate, well done! Brisby, sounds like you did a great job at short notice, for what it's worth I can remember my first nav gig, it was a stress for sure! It gets much easier
  15. It sure is exy, especially now I'm forced to Open class due to having a full cage and no carpet, regardless of having very few performance mods. But hey, them's the rules. Anyways, I'll put some thought into whether I'll still take my car or just crew.
  16. I have at least four other blokes down here putting serious thought into it too
  17. My prediction is very few given the sorry state of the CAMS regs and the regs big difference to AASA. As you said on the phone the other day, we just about need two cars now, one for each governing bodied event. It could be too little, too late.

Kind regards, Craig Dawson Sales & Sponsorship Executive, Classic Adelaide www.silverstoneevents.com RELEASE 27 January 2010 New 2010 Modern Tarmac Championship to follow from successful Classic Championship Following the successful running of the inaugural Australian Classic Tarmac Rally Championship in 2009, CAMS has established the Australian Modern Tarmac Rally Championship to cater for showroom and alternative energy vehicles. With the increasing level of modern as well as classic cars participating at tarmac events, the next logical step was to introduce a modern championship. Both championships will be conducted at the same events during 2010, commencing at Rally Tasmania on 27 – 28 February. The remaining rounds will be held at the Adelaide Hills Tarmac Rally in South Australia from 21 – 23 May, Targa West in Western Australia from 26 – 29 August and finally at Classic Adelaide in South Australia from 17 – 21 November. Registration for vehicles fitting the specified criteria for the modern and classic championships will be automatic upon payment of the entry fee for each event. There will not be a separate championship registration fee. Championship points will be awarded from first to twentieth outright towards the Australian Modern and Classic Tarmac Rally Champion Driver and Co-Driver. In addition, each driver and co-driver will receive class points. For the modern championship this will include: Early Modern, Late Modern and Contemporary, Exotic Cars and Group M5. Class points will be awarded from first to tenth place. These class points will also be added to the outright position points to determine the Australian Modern Tarmac Rally Champions. Sporting regulations for the modern and classic championships are close to being finalised and will soon be made available on the online CAMS Manual website. Championship information can be found on the CAMS website or by emailing [email protected] or calling (03) 9593 7777. 19. Yeah the 32 swaps fine. The 33 however is a pain needing many 33 gtr bits to work.
  20. Don't break him Benny! Also, wishing all you boys and girls heading down to TWP this week good luck and great times!
  21. My bud Cameron the drifter has the early light doors with lexan "glass" and they feel crazy light to me. So light I wouldn't run these doors without a cage with intrusion bars.
  22. Mine ran 11.13 @ 128.5 on a 1,85 60ft with 317RWKW, stock internals and Apexi low mounts. Suspension was stiff Ohlins, with a really hard crappy set of Avon road tyres.
  23. I haven't confirmed it myself, but I have it on good authority that the early doors are heaps lighter. No factory intrusion bar I was told.
  24. Come to think of it, his car would scare me too. HAHA Maybe he should just take the Evo5, I'm waiting for him to chime in, he's been patrolling without posting lately.
