  1. i HATE how these motorsport inspired build threads have been moved. I only visit the motorsport section (well mostly) and IMO moving to here has killed the threads. Just some feedback for you mods/admin.
  2. lol, well, I wanna drive it.... you're welcome to steer mine too if ya want? I shift at around 7k, my stock turbo runs out of puff very quickly. Understand what you're saying re using the torque in 5th, maybe the SR's better, my RB just lays over in 5th, rpm drops just too far.
  3. Basically, I should have said, you're a gear higher than me everywhere...... go son!
  4. Joysus! Just had a look at the vid, either your car has plenty of stick or it's short geared or it weighs nothing (which i suspect after seeing it LOL). You're pulling 5th just onto the straight! (I hold 4th for the whole straight, maybe slot 5th if I'm feeling easy on it). I pull 4th at the left crest near the bus stop, and I wish I could get the grip to pull 5th Under Dunlop, flat in 4th is the best I can do. And Hungry, are you in 4th gear through there! lol
  5. Once I have a decent connection I'll check out ya driving Harry lol If I had of been less hungover Stuart I would have realised it was you and said hi Re the drop offs, it's one of the things I really dislike about the track after it's resurface, not because I'd cut the corners (the kink and right under Dunlop), but because before you could at least run the tyre juuuust over the edge for a little extra grip on the inner sidewall, but now you run the risk of tyre damage doing that.
  6. Geez Ming, lucky to get away with that one, also interested to hear the outcome if any. Noddy, was that your 33 with the big wing on the back? 2nd of August is my new target. Car went to paint today, and now I need some new rubber. Does anyone know if they have plans to place some ripple strips on the inside of any of the resurfaced corners, like the Kink, and under Dunlop?
  7. Very nicely done Harry! Sub 60 is quick! We towed that crashed Evo home, but while we loaded it I watched you coming under Dunlop from the outside of the track, you ummmmmm, had some going on there! lol And 5th gear!? She have short gearing or just goes really hard?
  8. I thought we were a team Benster? Why wouldn't you call me about this stuff? What are your thoughts on brakes? Mine had R33 Sumitomos front and rear with slotted rotors and with the light weight, I never once felt it needed more. In fact I still have that entire setup somewhere..... I grabbed up a good deal and pull the whole GTR Brembo/2-piece rotors etc all round soon after I got it, but I'm dubious on it's worth at this power level? Sure it never runs out of brakes, but is it needed? I'm not sure..... Now, I will say that with the Brembos installed, matching master cylinder and with the additional GTR resevoir, I could not modulate the pedal to a satisfactory level. The feel was just too masked and lockups were common. So I ditched the booster, made a billet block to move the master up, modified the pedal, added a brace, and now I like it. It's heavy sure, but at least it has feel. After a full day of Tugga though the lower back ache was creeping in, but you soon forget about that on the next stage I can confirm just blocking the master cylinder won't give you an accurate vision of what it's like with the booster properly moved and the pedal ratio altered.
  9. Haha, so true. I'd rather stay home.......
  10. Mate, sounds for all the world to me to be a flat spotted tyre.
  11. No particular reason mate, and once push comes to shove might not be able to actually go through with it. But I'm feeling it's time to maybe take a break and show my little lady the attention she deserves. She's missed out on alot over the years due to me going racing.
  12. You can tell me to get rooted too but I agree with Roy here, I reckon the carbon lights would look schweet. Bris, I have your solution, my girl is up for sale, how about I send her over to you? You can even leave the name stickers on the window so everyone thinks you're one of the cool "Ben's" .
  13. My cars in bits so will not be there, but yeah mate, you can go for a spectate, no issues.
  14. Excellent to see you guys back in a car together Kel has always admitted to me she prefered the 32 over the 35 anyway, actually feels like a car, not a time machine.
  15. Benny, let me know if you want my fully hectic Apexi N1 coil overs for the circuit. Otherwise, I too am interested to know what you're thinking susp wise? Interested in joining me in a bulk buy (well, two of us ) of some Murray Coote stuff?
  16. Great stuff Benny, you're doing a thorough job mate, rate it! Team GTS-t for 2011?
  17. 6.30 this morning, Moto GP from Laguna Seca.... the Corkscrew looks pretty wild on a bike!
  18. Congrats to you and your wife Stu!
  19. Gee that's bloody harsh Dunc! lol You would have taken the .3/sec too mate
  20. Yeah 19th is my aim, aching to get back out there again I really need to scrounge up some tyres, the budget is exhausted!
  21. lol you're right Kel And I'm suprised I ended up with a class win AS WELL as damage from a guard rail. LOL Was an enjoyable weekend, really nice crew of officials, great competitiors, etc.... Very difficult to keep mud and gravel off tyres considering how wet it was leading up to the start on saturday, but everyone had the same issues and I guess the only guys it didn't concern too much was the 4WD brigade, assuming they had the power to turn all four off the line (read: GTR's do, WRX's don't ). We're already talking about our return next year Oh, and the burnout comp on saturday night was fantastic, it's been years since I've seen one and I admire the passion of the single-spinner-diff-non-turbo guys lolol Being hammered drunk like I was in the front row of a Lynard Skinnard concert likely added to my enjoyment level "where's the farkin V8's MATE!?!?!?!"
  22. Anyone going up? I'm heading up tomorrow, along with a mate with a series 6, and Giant is coming to drink a repulsive amount of bourbon I nearly pranged the car on the street this morning, it feels so terrible! I haven't driven it after it got back from Targa and I aint touching a thing. I'm running on the now bald targa tyres and seized up suspension. Results wise I'll be suprised if I end up with anything more than damage from a concrete wall or water barrier
  23. yeah saw that after i posted.... shame, had high hopes.
  24. Good on you John, glad you enjoyed yourself mate
  25. Good on you Jess!
