  1. The SilEighty was actually produced by Nissan so should elligible if there was enough officially made.....
  2. Hmmm, thanks Neil, I wonder if that's allowed, ie, approved? I don't think a HANS will help you much with lateral G though mate, there's no tension on them laterally.
  3. Well I have a couple of spare boxes (big dollar race cars these 32's ), so I plan to slip one in saturday and get to next thursday's practice. Benny, I haven't tried the 32 wing without the Nismo lip, but I have it on good authority that they're worth having on there. I do however think it creates a huge amout of drag.
  4. haha, mates, as much as it really pains me to say it, I do think it will be quicker with it on. Now, there was no official timing out there on Sunday, so I cannot say for sure, so I'm only judging by the seat of my pants. Keep in mind I also only had two flying laps before the gearbox popped. 1. I set the gurney flap to the most aggressive angle to try for the biggest change possible for the sake of actually feeling it. 2. It pulled 5th in around the same spot on the straight so it's not creating extra drag. 3. On every 3rd gear corner I felt like I could get the power down earlier. So, Caroussel, Hungry, and Eastern Loop, I reckon I was fully on the gas 10 to 15 metres earlier. 4. It was carrying more speed under Dunlop bridge (top of 4th gear), and it seemed a little less nervous in the bum. 5. It seemed a little less prone to understeer in the fast corner entering the straight. 6. It broke 3rd gear exiting Hungry, maybe the extra grip was the straw that broke the camel's back? If I really am able to get the power down that much sooner, it's gotta be worth some time...... DAMMIT! lol
  5. If I put both my hands on one side of my keyboard I can't use it properly.
  6. lol, indeed they are! i was just looking at the top photo and I thought, bloody hell, that red 35 looks like it's been "dropped" in there, see around the rear quarter/pipes it looks kinda too crisp/clean. Cheers bloke!
  7. I backed to backed it Roy, first with GTR wing with Nismo lip, then another bootlid with the alloy wing. It was given to me, and I had a spare bootlid, so I figured I'd try it...... I do hang my head when it's on there though And this is the GTR it came in on mate.
  8. Is that photoshopped? I'm no expert but.......
  9. Any good pics mate? i was having a ball until I broke 3rd gear, gotta get that fixed before next Thurday's (27th) practice day out there again
  10. Still got these? lololol
  11. I agree.... I personally wouldn't put an RB in an S chassis either. And I also think the SR is a great engine, i hear of all these stories of inherent weaknesses, but I'm yet to see it with my own eyes..... sure I believe it's possible in a super-highly tuned SR, but for most applications, they do just fine. To my ears, an Rb20 is music, I can't get enough
  12. Don't let them get you all worked up Roy.... most guys I've seen blame whatever they can except their inability to actually drive the car.
  13. Mine's an absolute ball! But then I'm not ghay, so I don't have 4wd
  14. Yeah sure, come over sometime for a look-see. I'm at Redcliffe. I purchased my 32 with the intention of having a seperate brake/suspension/armour setup to slot into it for gravel use, but funds is the struggle. I have enough on my plate dealy with the costs of off-road excursions at Targa. haha My 32 is only moderately lightened (no cutting), and weighs 1275 with everything in it incl spare and full fuel. The best thing with a 32 is how much better it would sound at 8k in the forest than an SR
  15. Oh my goodness........... I WANT A GO!!!!
  16. Both S13 and RPS13 have been homologated for gravel rally. I searched for quite some time for one to build as gravel spec, but gave up in disgust. S13 Silvia is the choice, as Gary says, stiffer, lighter, better weight balance etc...... Another option might be a Sil-Eighty if they actually were factory available in numbers to make them elligible? Lighter nose, with more spare tyre access in the back, cage could stiffen it nicely. Just man-up and build a 32 GTR like Giant and I were yappin about at the last ARC round, the ARC desperately needs some excitement injected, which I reckon 500 odd HP of GTR could do..... who cares if your fast, it's be crowd favourite easily
  17. Will be great to see the girls go up against eachother, Mel in her STi, Sammy in the mighty GTiR (and outright too of course). The pressure is mounting!
  18. Great news mate, hopefully Timmay and I will see you there!
  19. I couldn't find the entry form on the website for this particualr day so I just called the office on 1800 RACERS and she emailed it over to me. I don't think there'll be timing. I wouldn't leave entry til the day, I did that once and was turned away, full.
  20. Looks great Benny boy!
  21. Ok well good on Kim, he really is one of the nicest people you could hope to meet.
  22. I saw Mark's 32 out testing/demo runs on Sunday, she is looking good Good luck to all you guys going
  23. I'll be there , well, hopefully a few of us will be
  24. Good on him for bouncing back so quickly. Tassie roads he will have learned are a bunch different from the point/squirt billiard table that is Targa West. I saw the Targa wreck, hmmmm, repaired you say? where's the chassis VIN on a 35? lol
  25. Hahaha, see, now that's why I rate you Roy! I've uploaded some more vids from Tugga Taz, purely to get my channel views up you understand Not for self gratification at all I miss Tassie! Crash - Cheers!
