  1. Though Rega wheels are light as a feather from my old fading memory.... good stuff Harry. I look forward to matching you when I can finally run mine on some fresh rubber mate
  2. Yeah for sure! We left behind you on Paloona you may remember.... because we ahhhh, caught and passed you! LOLOLZ You asked for it Benny
  3. Ease the car off the line my farking arrse! lol You guys owe a few stage time keepers new hats/glasses/contact lenses with the ferocity of that thing!
  4. Come to think of it, my first ever track too Harry
  5. Gee come on you soft cokks, it's not that scary!
  6. How good is the fact that over the entire week there was only something like five speeding tickets issued in transport stages for the entire field. work out the kilometres travelled in total.... we are a very responsible lot! Mark Perry would be able to help you with some hard numbers on previous year's incidents I'm sure.
  7. Looks like a bit of cold tyre action to me Benny
  8. I am so rude. I'm going to try and blame it on my flu Jeff and Nerida Beable, long time SAU member and Targa veterans...... 2nd in early Modern. Great effort to you both! Congratulations! Now Jeff, if you read this, I'd like you to give me your thoughts on the new Yokohama Ao50 you ran please!
  9. Nice one Harry. Whats with all the dirt on the left before Hungry? Had rain washed it there?
  10. Marlin

    Targa Tasmania

How good would one be as a potato field plough you reckon?
  11. I'll add that it's my belief the only competitor killed was way back when cages/helmets/or indeed even a CAMS licence were not compulsory? Correct me if I'm wrong. Add the fact that all the competitors, and their service crews, typically go home telling all their friends about what a beautiful place it is and why they should visit. It's a huge boon for tourism.
  12. Poor little Fiat.... on it's lid twice in one Targa!
  13. G'day guys! Bloody sad it's all over....... I'm so proud of all our SAU clan for experiencing a great Tugga this year. Everyone doing their best to help eachother out was better than ever, best event yet imo. Seriously, how good was it!?!?! From "Giant" Russ getting to grips with the whole thing even though the car was playing up a little, to you Kel and your constant words of encouragement, Snowy and Dan's sterling Rookie effort, Just Jap Steve for always giving us a smile or thumbs-up, Manions for just being top blokes, Greg for loaning us suspension and having a great win, David Ayers for being a nice bloke even though they really strained him at the finish line, Benson and Perry for running a superb event, and Timmy my super Nav with balls of titanium..... if I've forgotten anyone, it's because I'm still on a high and even higher due to drugs for a cracking chest infection I'm running I can't relay how good Targa was for me personally this year, words can't describe Tim and I get along so well it's uncanny, and his belief in me being able to pull the little 32 back from the brink is bordering on insanity. It was actually a real relief to be able to do the event in our own car this year, it really allowed us to have a real crack. I'm flabbergasted with some of our times, and astounded with how the little VERY standard GTS-t can hold it's head up high against some serious machinery, be it in the Classic section or the Outright Modern competition. Our goal now is to attempt to find some good sponsorship to allow the fitment of some really good parts for the little car, I think she deserves it Oh, and to fix some scratches :D EDIT: And yeah of course I forgot to thank Damo and Kerry for helping us out with some indicators and mirror after the excursion, Melbourne Performance Centre for all their hard work in the rain and mud, and a huge congrartulations for Tony and Naomi for what would have to be the most popular outright win in many many years. They really deserve it!
  14. Gee rotten stuff Andrew, was going to ask but figured it wasn't my business mate. I've had six cups of coffee today, way over my quota, and I'm comin down real hard...... lol
  15. Becasue of the Bunyip at 0:57?
  16. Yep yep. Wayne said we're all welcome. We'll need someone to grab some snags/bread/whatever to throw on the BBQ, and probably some tofu or something for Snowy, he's a bit of a health fanatic. They're erecting a teepee at the Olde Tudor, so hopefully no rain. And thanks Kel, see ya soon
  17. Yeah it was great hey I'm on the big bird tomorrow morning, straight into recce on arrival Timmay and Gus are collecting the super Ignis from Devonport prior to my arrival, then it's straight out to the Sideling and the rest of the east coast loop Sleep in Lonnie tomorrow night. Car is in Melbourne, pre-scrutineer tomorrow. Greggy's DMS is going in it today, on the dyno for a quick check afterwards. Fark - PUMPED MUCH! lol
  18. I'm 5'11", 88kg, 32" waist and Cobra suits me fine n dandy. Remeber lots of these seats mentioned are available with little velco pads that you can shift around totailor to your frame, whether it be in the squab or backrest.
  19. I just now did mine, literally, and I'll send you a pic via text ok. You know I have a Sparco, and I used the arm base off my Peltor, but it may be of some help.
  20. Bloody heck that's some rotten luck Darren! Difficult problem to isolate too. Regarding the hoses not popping first, funnily I've also experienced a similar thing many years ago as a young fool. I was doing many many donuts on the mudflats in a KF turbo 4WD Laser until it was really cooking, and instead of popping a hose or gasket the radiator tanks burst right off it.... big bang! Glad you found the issue and you can move on mate
  21. Good stuff Cameron! Didn't know you were involved mate
  22. If you find out Troy lemme know. I'm chasing a set too. I had the carbon Apexi one on my GTR, it was light as brew... if I can't find lighter, I'll prob run with that again.
  23. I think the story went something like the car was purchased without an engine and the new engine somehow ended up with an old 34 sump on it.... hence wrong ratios.
  24. Gotta give a big shout out to the RGM Racing boys (Giant). A fellow competitor, Paul Bergman, somehow ended up with the incorrect front diff in his 33 GTR he's been rebuilding, with three days before it's to be on the truck. In a fantastic effort, Mark and Russ said they could help and already have a new front diff installed, during work hours. Told ya, best people ever are doing rallying
  25. Yeah I think the preference is to be able to see a bit of the crew, so mount it back. It also translates the car moving around a little better, rather than just pivoting off where the camera is mounted.
