  1. Tony, that car of yours, it's a '94 model correct?
  2. You told me we got em for 420 cock? Am I wrong again?
  3. Good luck mate. Look forward to seeing you around......
  4. Hi mate, since you have a spare set of wheels, I'd suggest you go with a proper R comp tyre. Mid 400's will definately get you a Kuhmo V70A, and yes I'd go with a hard compound. They're a good tyre although not the cream of the crop, they seem to have moved on a little since this tyre was developed. The top tyre right now in my mind is the Dunlop 03G, and I'd suggest an "SR". This compound is between a medium and a hard. They offer similar grip to a hard, but heat up a little quicker. Back to back, same car, same day, a HARD Dunlop was exactly one second a klm faster than the hard Kuhmo. The Dunlop is dearer than the Kuhmo, but I think you should still get for under 500.... I just ordered a set of 235/45/17 and found them for 420. I'm not sure if you're allowed to run them, but it could be worth seeing if you can use the Silverstone S575. It's a quick tyre, but not elligable for tarmac rallies, except ARC. It's relatively cheap too so worth asking the powers that be. Cheers, Ben
  5. R comp Toyo's are meant to be available mid March in the US, and I suspect a bunch of sets will be flown here......
  6. Everything go alright last night Stuart? Not long now!
  7. Crawled over the car again yesterday..... what a difference just a few weeks can make! The car is a credit to both of you Russ and Mark, the attention to detail is superb, the build quality and fabrication second to none. This car is gonna be something really special. And the best bit, it juuuuust fits in that enclosed trailer mate!
  8. Russ, you didn't take my bait on the previous page? hehe
  9. Just saw it up the road, I'm gonna go drool on it.
  10. My little brother just threw up in my pants Russ.
  11. I can't see how any of that could be taken as negative Roy? I don't have an issue if a particul car tends to dominate rallying as such, and I believe that just about any front running car can have its day, given conditions that suit it and a crew that is prepared to push really hard, and possibly bin it I was watching the times all weekend, and have no doubt that both Jim and Tony were both pushing very very hard, and also that the conditions really suited their particualr cars. Remember that this was a short event, with no limit on tyre changes (did Tony Quinn even change one? ) and it was also dry. For those two guys to have such a big gap on Vandenbergs and Longhurst (3rd and 4th) is a real feat!
  12. Hi mate. Yes, Russ will be there in the Hi Octane gtr.... I was going to nav for him but have decided to drive my own car. 35's should be thick on the ground!
  13. Yeah I knew it was Craigs, glad they're ok
  14. Yep, big congrats to Tony and Naomi! Excellent result, it was close all weekend, but I'm glad that my winner prediction was correct
  15. Thanks Coop, hope to mate Well done to all at Rally Tas on the weekend, Kel especially. Good time had by most by all accounts, Kel, good stuff Great to see Quinny through for a win too Someone who's spec C didn't finish the event too flash ; Rolled big time, 7 to 8 times, crew ok
  16. Roy, as you see I didn't start with a stripped shell so I didn't get the bitumen off the firewall etc, but I measured just under 9kg, about the same as swapping a std bonnet for a GTR bonnet, so worthwhile in my opinion. I don't run carpet, so for me it was mainly to clean it up for aesthetics with the bonus of a little weight. I figure if I'm chasing 2 and 3 kilo savings by using lighter wings etc, then 9kg for a few hours work is well worth it How much noiser? No idea yet, haven't driven it, but since I'm always wearing a helmet, it won't worry me.
  17. That dry ice for the body deadener works a treat dont it About 4 hours today and she done
  18. if you only want 500hp I wouldnt suggest the tomei battle kit, it'll pump it strait up over a thousand horsepowers.
  19. Always an excuse Stuart! Mate, I started the engine swap into mine yesterday arvo.... she'll all in and running, was skiddin her up this arvo
  20. Thanks mate I spoke with Russ earlier about sharing his evo5, but he suggested we both use the R35...... navigate alternately for eachother. So we're in with a chance
  21. Thanks Coop. I purchased my car as a CAMS compliant vehicle, but have since modified it to AASA spec, as most of the tarmac rallies I compete in and wish to compete in are now with AASA, and I see the possibility of other rallies coming over as well for the sake of consistency. So, saying that, I'd have to say I'm out, unless of course Giant wants to do and we share his Evo. Russ? lol It's an event I'd like to do
  22. G'day Coop, is this a hillclimb (ie no navigator) or a rally (w/- navigator)?
  23. Mate I'm still drooling waiting for this thing to be done! I've been told from a reliable source and someone who's actually done some testing, that the std R32 GTR wing coupled with the Nismo lip spoiler actually does make a measurable difference btw....
  24. Good luck Kel! You won't be seein me, you'll see Timmy though Keep an eye out for the little fella if he looks lost without a TerrTrip
  25. HAHAHA, wel played Although I was thinking more along these lines;
