  1. This thing is the shit .... I love it. Can't wait for startup vids!
  2. Not sure on that Battered sav? Stu may be able to throw some light on it. MPC is crewing for us again this year, fuel will be where we need it, I reckon the last thing Timmy and I need is to worry about that.... our puny mouse-like brains have enough trouble just "aaaa, dryvink da gar"
  3. Joisus!!!! No wonder my bank account was empty! You have the figures we actually used written in the road books so you'd be best placed to know accurately Timmy, but I hope I haven't given Snowy a bum steer by saying a while back that I thought we got around 80 competetive klm from a tank? Evidently, it seems I have Sorry Snowy Is my memory serving me right Tim saying we did Cethana with a full tank, and really needed before the next stage, but we barely made it through on fumes? If that's right, you're right!
  4. I'm about to go home, but sure, we'll chat. The main problem I have is the pace on tarmac, and not knowing whats coming, it's super dangerous if you wanna run with any pace.
  5. Fark roadbook events, too dangerous Kel, especially with a rookie. Sorry, thats my view, after east Coast Targa 2004 I'll NEVER do another roadbook event unless it's a gravel state round.
  6. Who's runnin that?
  7. Hahaha, Steve Thatcher's been livin it up http://www.targatasmania.com.au/Competitor...n%20Competition
  8. When we ran a handycam we fabricated one as per the CAMS spec. Not sure if there's a univeral off-the-shelf version available? Would be suprised if there was.
  9. Real bummer Snowy, wish there was something I could do to help. If you're ordering the horizontal flow version with the integral oil cooler, rest assured it will be spot on. When you eventually get it!
  10. Ahhh shit Snowy, they really are dickheads. Anyone nearby kind enough to let you borrow a similar radiator?
  11. How about aluminium ramps and floor rivetted to a steel chassis using Alko axles that are very simple and proven, with the benefit of independent suspension? http://www.alko.com.au/vehicle/axles/irs.html
  12. I'm getting there Dunc, aiming to be 100% of a man by this time next year
  13. Ditto that! Loving the Dak Dak! All the good bits cloaked in a Hitler, very cool
  14. You told me you were about 70kg you Wippet. I'm a real man, 90kg.
  15. The way I see it, and please forgive me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't the prudent method of dealing with Nissan oz go something along these lines? ; Don't inform them you'll be tracking the car (and remove # plates) Hook up with one of the identities that now have the applicable R35 Consult in hand to wipe codes and track use data (a big one, I'm only assuming the consult is capable of erasing memory or portions of memory) Have Nissan Oz do normal warranty and service repairs to "keep them in your pocket" as such, but supply your own consumables such as gearbox oil (Martin's at half price), and rotors etc.....
  16. Nice catch hawkeye, can spot a Bluepoint tote box at 20 paces! lol I had 20kg in that box, to mimic my extra weight over Tim my nav. The 1249 was without that 20kg. Unfortunately I can't tell you what weight we started with, but remember, no stereo etc in this. It's also an 89 plate and apparently, they're 30kg or so lighter than later ones? I'm not certain? It's all the little bits that we pulled out that add up. For instance, half hour spent in the back netted a 5kg loss, cutting back speaker wire, removing unused brackets and bolts, removing wiring and timer for rear demister, that kind of thing. Do that a few times and it adds up. I don't have a massive turbo and external gate either! And Snowy, I think your added kilowattage with make up for more than that weight difference! lol, after driving mine on saturday near Russ' place the big problem I'll have is keeping tyres on the thing, it's just so much fun sideways
  17. Thanks to Russ yesterday for letting me use and lending a helping hand corner weighting the lil girl. Good bourbon too As usual, sharing workshop space with the heavy hitters (hope some speed rubs off) Pretty happy now too by the way. Car weighed 1249kg with virtually a full tank of juice.
  18. How GREAT is it going to be to see Steve (Glenney) up against the establishment in something so different and exciting as the Mazda RX8 SP turbo with Hawsley pullin the strings! Gosh, I can't wait! Stick it to em Steve!
  19. lol.... I Do try to listen to it all coz I hate crashing!...... so I have no idea what Timmy's talkin about.
  20. Yeah I'm totally with you on this one TT. Rumour and inuendo really gets out of hand in Oz, not to mention the tall poppy syndrome. And yes, it's always the slower talentless guys that run the cheat spec in an attempt to make up for lack of talent. And I cannot agree more with your wish to compete on equal footing. To run a cheat spec is to only cheat yourself. I liken it to the gamefishing tournaments I compete in. Winners are calculated on most Marlin tagged, not killed, but there's been many instances of crews just throwing tags over the side claiming to catch fish. They get caught in the end and are never welcome anywhere.
  21. Gee Greg, sorry to hear you might not make it mate, that really is dissappointing. You were having a good crack at Rally Tas too! Some good times there mate, punching well above your weight I'd say! And sure thing, I DO feel like part of the Tassie family, easily some of the best people I've met down your way mate, in fact, I'd move there in a heartbeat if your weather wasn't so shithouse I hope something changes mate and you guys can make the start!
  22. Yeah got it last week. All in there, haven't gone test and flogging yet, but even idling with just a thermo fan it controls temp alot easier. And yes, you know how it works, you're the bait and get them talking, but I'm "The Driver" and get "the glory"! lolol
  23. If ya really start to run some peak about this darn radiator Snowy gimme a call, I have a friend who is quite good at speeding them up. (he's sponsored by them)
  24. Tidy work! April 4th, not long to wait hey
