  1. Oh really! How awesome! I've also heard that in keeping with the "Billy Big Time-edness" of this event, you know. AMG, TAG watches etc, no expence has been spared and the WRX will be delivery by; Skillfully piloted by Jason himself; now you see him, now you don't.
  2. Dan has VERY kindly donated the use of his POV1 for our Targa this year Snowy..... what a guy!
  3. I hear on the grapevine that there will be a canapes and drinks night at the workshop in inner Sydney sometime next month to view a completed WRX etc. Those who have entered have been invited! Seriously.
  4. Never get bored of looking at your car Chris!
  5. You got no chance Chris! Jason told me that panel damage has been allowed for in the costings of the event, so I'm using you as a burm.
  6. How's that Abba song go?
  7. Yeah thanks guys Yep, Troy WEDS, they're very light as! Anyone have a boost controller they're wanting to sell? Mine melted all over the dashbaord in the sun!
  8. Gee I hope that's not true! I've booken my flights and accomodation............... and I've also built a new WRX to the same specification to practice in, may sound silly but there half a mill on the line here!
  9. Well, my little 32 is finally back from paint, complete with GTR kit 83 days to go!!!!!!
  10. lol.... djr, my thoughts exactly, worth giving it a try for the sake of four nuts I guess If it does make a huge difference and causes understeer, then maybe someone on here may want it that is also working on their front end downforce. (I won't be making any aero changes to mine at the front due to my class of racing)
  11. Oh no, you said engine in for good! Careful careful! Looks great mate
  12. DJR, mine's actually a GTS-t and I don't really have front end grip issues post apex..... usually counter steering if anything..... as I'm interested to see and it's an easy swap over I'll do as Harry suggests...... nd await the howls of laughter from my peers
  13. Whats your thoughts on this guys? I only ask because it was given to me. Its a direct bolt on replacement for a std GTR wing...... dunno if it's be worth any time around Lakeside? I'm interested to see how it feels though. Thoughts? (didn't know whether to post this as I thought I might look like a cock)
  14. lol! And why are they no good mate?
  15. Sure plenty of people use the GTR seats mate, I'm just highlighting the fact that they do move around quite a bit, and the frames can and do break. They are repairable though if that happens. If you don't run on R compound tyres they would probably suffice for the few days you do a year, but note you would more than likely be faster if you had a better seat. Your idea of getting a trashed set and retrimming, with the possibility of some extra bolstering holds water, especially as they are a bolt in fitment....... otherwise I'd search around for some second hand bride/Cobra/whatevers........
  16. A cup of concrete probably wouldn't hurt....... whats difficult about having a couple of taps on the pedal with ya spare foot between corners? lol Back in 2007 the issue was really bad, but since then the addition of full floating Supercar rotors and springs behind the pistons made it 100 times better After the hammering we gave it in 2008 it probably just needs a set of hub bearings!
  17. What are you putting the heat issue down to Snowy? The only stage I've ever seen temp go higher than 110 in the 34 is Cethana, on the uphill side for 6 kays or so prior to the finish. I'm also staggered by your consumption rate, we were getting around 80 competetive klm from a tank ($390! ) . For istance, Day 5 Targa, we'd refill after Strahan and then do Queenstown, sort transport, then Arrowsmith, short transport, and have around 1/4 left? I'm wondering if the 98 rule is affecting consumption significantly? ie pouring more in a bid to keep power up? Interested to hear how Adam Poole compared to your consumption......
  18. Yeah very lucky not to do more damage car #417! Well done to Adam Poole in my old borrowed steed, good to see her still out and about Fark I'm pumped for Targa! Stu..... send me those bonnets pins champ I say Flog!
  19. Yeah std GTR seats aren't much chop. The frame is too flexible, not enough support, and it's just easy to go faster when you're not trying to push yourself back into the seat with your left leg. If you're planning on re-trimming, there's a bunch of better reclining seats available.
  20. LOL.... you guys were having a ball, lovin some of your comments James, like the "oh fark air" near the start At least you got a tatse for it, roundy roundy doesn't compare huh!
  21. Bad luck Snowy! Ordinary start to your rallying mate, can only get better.... so, who was responsible for the wheel nuts on the front right?
  22. Thats my belief too Harry, NR licence and CAMS vehicle log book. And I've heard there's a bit of paperwork hassle come renewal time too... like the vehicle is required to compete in events or something...... although how they could police that I'm at a loss to explain, like, the car could be in a shop for repair for a year easily.....
  23. Sorry to get the news Yestarday Kel, tough break that Any word on Tash's and Warren's excursion? By all accounts a great little weekend rally Me old mates Millar/Dean did a stven Bradbury and took out the Showroom category, so well done to them too
  24. Hey guys! Pretty excited I can confirm that Timmy and I are the first to be awarded with a TARMAC Magazine Targa Tasmania "scholarship"!!! ;) So folks, I know for a fact that decisions haven't been made upon who the other four entries will go to, so if you have the means, get your email into Dean Evans, you just never know! Oh, and support Tarmac Mag, because he's supporting us!
  25. I think Andrew likes calling it Davenport because it matches the brand of his undies.
