  1. It tweaks the reading from the Airflow Meter so the stock ECU reacts differently. It allows some form of tunability without replacing the ECU with a big expensive one. (but it is not as effective) Personally I just buy them pregapped but you can diy by opening up or closing the gap but you need a feeler gauge to measure it. Have a search in the DIY or General Maintenance section, there should be something about it in there.
  2. More Power, Same Boost. Better Air Fuel Ratio makes better use of the burn. Less Rich = More Power. The contrast between the Stock ECU making everything overly rich due to more boost and the SAFC saying, "hey ho woh steady on their buddy, I think you've had enough", is really quite impressive.
  3. Old, Cold Engine. Maybe there was a dodgy electrical connection that improved with reassembly? "stranded somewhere I don't want to be." Karma (CARMA) is alive and well.
  4. I aint that kindawog.
  5. Operating temp, open throttle, charged batty is what I got from all this. Mental note...
  6. YaaaaaaaaaaaY!!!! Awesome. When warmed right up, test the Compression again? Very Happy For You Mate! must be that startyabastard I sprayed on the igniter contacts.
  7. NO OLIVES or ANCHOVIES !!! Aldi Rectangular Pizza Bases, Make for a Great Homemade Pizza.
  8. Excellent, Gap them to 0.8mm and see how it goes. (Yes Boost IS Fun. ) Earthing it is 7psi all the time, Bypassing it you will get Actuator pressure only. (5psi stock) or as you (and I) have done, 10psi. If for some silly reason you had the R32 actuator and the solenoid earthed and connected, you would get 12psi and it would be crap because of the ECU freaking out due to Too Much Boost / Air. If either of you bought an SAFC and had that tuned, you would be amazed how much more power you get. (even though in the scheme of things it's not very much compared to the big boys 20psi+ etc.)
  9. Brown Nosers are at the Back of the Queue. Now? Pretty Please with Boogers ontop?
  10. Not 100% sure, but I think there is some kind of ECU in under my center console. (seen through the rear ashtray) My 4door was auto but changed to manual in Japan. Have you changed ECU? Mine still had the stock Auto ECU and would Burble and Fap when rolling down hill in high a gear.
  11. Yes But low voltage Batty...
  12. This sounds good. ^^^ Batty was definately down by a couple of Volts, but turn the engine fine, Headlights worked etc... How was the car last driven? Easy duties or Fully Thrashin' it?
  13. Don't forget, you don't have to "Cut" the wire, just strip back some of the plastic insulation and tap a wire into it there, then Earth it. Do it to the Solenoid not the loom. Simples.
  14. I demand a Re-test !!! was that with or without a little oil in each cylinder?
