  1. Pavel id say that classifys as dumped, which isnt an easy classification to get by a Perth boy! hahaha nice
  2. Thanks for the info
  3. in terms of bringin full boost on earlier? I am aware you get hp gains out of them, thats not what im after atm
  4. Hey peeps I am aware of the gains you can get in the top half of the rpm range with cam gears however i am curious wether or not cam gears (inlet/exhaust on rb20) can reduce lag?? I was never told that they could reduce lag, i was under the impression you'd want cam's aswell if thats what you wanted. Anyone shed some light on this? Regards Jaz
  5. Recieved, thank you
  6. I wish i had a driveway like that!! Can't even get close to goin down mine thats very gentle hahaha Black series 2 = nice
  7. All depends on what u want... A mate may be able to help you on here, he made 330rwhp with stock injectors and is getting a proper tune soon! Gcg hi-flows are good on rb20s and awsome on rb25s You can always go a vg30 exhaust housing if u was searchin for more lag/power down the road with the turbo too! Lots of options
  8. I understand people want 220+rwkw, but let me say that 200+rwkw with 500-1000rpm less lag is much better for the street, its cool for a car that has 20rwkw more power but for driving around on the street the lag is killer in a internally standard rb20... torqueless bugger! Id go something abit smaller (2510 or so) and enjoy the responce you'll get from it plus big boost levels and decent power (200-220rwkw) This is a personal opinion from someone who's gone slighty bigger with abit more lag on the rb20, ill be gettin some cams n headwork n maybe stroke it abit to get some of the lag down!
  9. As Gary has pretty obviously pointed out, you really need a re-tune to get the benifits of the ethanol. Ive seen a 22rwkw gain (modified r32 gtr..) from moving from 98 to 100 octane with ethanol in a HPI magazine, they explained that you can put alot more igintion timing into the motor, however it did run abit lean and make less power without being tuned for the new fuel.... something to keep in mind if you have a tuned modified car, if its a stocko it shouldn't hurt.
  10. Red LINE on an rb20 is 7500 according to the manual (and tacho), but that doesnt mean thats the LIMITER neccessarily... My rb20 makes power at 8000rpm (tacho/dyno reading) due to the larger turbo, so reving up there is quiet pointful for me but i would agree useless on a stock turbo which is what im sure you are refering to. Thanks for the help Gary, based on what your idea's are the rsm is more accurate thus the turbo is a little less laggy (than tacho/dyno reading) and the rev limit is abit lower (7500 instead of 8200).
  11. Hey peeps My tacho and Apexi rsm are showing slightly different readings which vary up to 800rpm in the top end of the rpm range, im curious what a the standard rpm limiter is on an rb20det? Ive been told 7500rpm but ive also heard 8200rpm?? My speedo is out due to 17' rims n 235 tyres etc, im just curious on wether the RSM or standard tacho is better to go on for the rpms (ie when i want to shift), funnily enough i hit the limiter and the rsm shows 7500rpm and the tacho shows 8200-8300rpm, so i couldnt figure it out by hitting the limiter either hahaha Anyone know the standard rpm limiter and why the rsm or tacho is out? Thanks all Regards Jaz
  12. boost control is not a problem. Thanks for that response GTR33 , my bov is sh*tty and i have a stock intake pipe, both of which are going to be changed at some stage! I had a thought about the bov... that could def be the problem
  13. Well that makes two of us who'd like some help hehe Mine never did it on stock turbo, i think it cud have somethin to do with the external gate... im not quiet sure!!
  14. Hey peeps I was curious if there is a quick fix for my problem. When i get to full boost (18-20psi) and change hard from 2nd to 3rd and the gate goes to close then re-open it stutters, its like a mis-fire... Sometimes it wont do it if im abit easier on the change or it will never do it if im not on full throttle when i change. It goes full throttle, change, power on, stutter, power on as normal till redline in 3rd. Any ideas?? Never does this from 1st to 2nd, and it hasn't from 4th to 5th either. Ne replys would be cool! Thanks all
  15. You will find it very very difficult to get full boost (1bar or more?) on before 4k as Sk has, however 300rwhp can be achieved with standard cams and no cam gears, with these items you can bring boost on earlier (more cams..) and gain more hp obviously too! I am going to go down the cam's track abit later for some more responce but have no idea on what cams to use as i havn't look at that yet
  16. A - good on you for posting it up B - nice paint hehe
  17. The turbo boost's fine but makes a noise through the bearing, if you wanted somethin to get your outta trouble it would work as niether exhaust nor compressor wheel has much play on it, but id suggest a rebuild as no noise is a good one? lol.. gcg-hiflow etc
  18. Im still looking peeps
  19. Bump
  20. Paid for 2 for my rb20. Thanks! How long approx till we can get delivery of these??
  21. Nobody knows there stuff better than Gary (SK), so you can get an idea of how it runs on different cars with similar mods!
