  1. Hey all Curious what this is, theres a line that runs with it that is hooked up to nothing and used to be before someone took some bits apart on it. Any help where it should go to or what this does?? Thanks Regards Jaz
  2. Same amout of water in the radiator and over-flow bottle as normal... The tune shop said it was an oil problem, but the previous owner of the turbo is well known and gaurentee's me it was fine when he took it off his car and didnt blow any smoke, so im leaning towards oil lines but i guess i have to wait until monday to see that.
  3. Ahh its drivin me nuts Just want the car running properly!!
  4. GCG Hi-flows are B/B turbos, they gave it a rough tune (as i had boost control problems aswell) so the car will run with the gtr injectors and new turbo however it smokes even on idle! The smoke is white and i will get custom braided lines for the turbo if its an oil line problem but i wasnt sure if that could effect the oil seal!
  5. Hey peeps I went to get the car tuned with the new turbo/injectors put in today and the car is blowing heaps of smoke. I am iffy about the bloke who put the turbo itself on (car was then towed to tune place) and am thinking maybe he messed up the oil line to the turbo or something? The first impression from the dyno tuner was its the oil seal on the turbo however the turbo is apparently very near new (ie no shaft play and low kms and very clean). I am curious what the problem could be? Any suggestions would be appreciated, turbo will be taken off on monday and if we can't figure something out with what to look for ill have to pay for it to be sent to GCG and any repairs Thanks for any help people Regards Jazza
  6. Why didnt you send it to me bro! hahaha
  7. Just seen someone make 270rwhp (realistic dyno) with an series 2 rb25 turbo on an rb20 with a tuned rom, did i mention stock injectors!! Wtf hehe It an awsome upgrade for the price.
  8. Wud it be able to be posted by curiour?
  9. When i was happy to blow my rb20 turbo, i ran an old elc boost controller which made 1bar by 3000rpm and 18psi soon after, it would drop off to 1bar by 6500-7000rpm (didnt used to watch boost controller that much at those rpms lol) and hold 1bar well into the 7000rpm's! The stock rb20 turbo isn't too bad if you have a good boost controller at holding decent boost, but it wont hold too much obviously due to the wastegate spring and of course its size! In regards to the dyno i thought it was well known 4th gear gives the best readings, 3rd (if you ave speed limits etc) shouldn't be TOO far off, closer obviously if ur car is closer to stock also hehehe
  10. I was under the impression a full bottle of octane booster can actually foul your plugs... where as using half a bottle may increase the octane levels one or two points, only really useful if your havin a track or drags day for abit more safety.
  11. With n1's 400rwhp with 1bar boost?? Providin the rest of ur components (intercooler injectors etc) are up to the job.
  12. Got the center consol storage bit thats between the seats?? I only really want the lid but will take the whole thing lol
  13. Unless its an rb20
  14. Thanks for the info
  15. Sorry i thought GCG machined out the rear housing so they are the same size on the hi-flowed units?? I think im abit confused then
  16. Are you sure?? There was a thread that showed a gcg hi-flow making 260ishrwkw and putting on a vg30 rear housing and making 280rwkw (not exact figures). So wouldn't this suggest a vg30 is bigger? I cud be way off here but i thought thats what i read.
  17. But with the GCG hi-flow the rear housing's dont make a difference as they are both machined out to the same size??? Curious does anyone think that a GCG on an rb20 r32 could do mid 12's? I understand they won't make near the power they can on rb25s (ie 30rwkw even..) but obviously the 32 weighs abit less too! Personally i will be happy with 280rwhp (210rwkw) with supporting mods (afm, injectors etc) which is probably only good for a low 13 but aim low and anything i get above that (hp wise) will be a bonus! I can only recommend the GCG hi-flow for rb25, makes the car a very quick street car which seems to be what ur looking for Thoughts on the 32 situation?
  18. I think you might find low throttle high rpms and high throttle and low rpms actually turns out a fairly similar figure... Its true ive just given up on fuel economy, ill try to get some with the tune i guess
  19. Erm the lifters seem to tick louder and the exhaust area seems to like fart when you accelerate more, its less noticable when your idleing as there isnt much pressure to hear. Id be 99% sure its a gasket leak, duno what else it could be!
  20. Yes sorry i thought that was obvious as its abit of a common problem hehe
  21. Well ive just discovered a leaking (air) noise which i think is a leaking gasket! I first thought it was an exhaust leak because the car drives normal but im still unsure... Didnt know that could result in a louder ticking noise, but the 2 seemed to go together thinking about it. Thanks for your help, we'll see i guess ill get it checked out in the next few days.
  22. Anyone know why this is? Car seems to run well with 5w-50 but maybe its worth switchin to 10w 50 or 10w 40 mobile 1? Im still curious if this is bad or dangerous?
  23. I will do that before my tune, any other advice peeps?
  24. Motor has done just over 100,000kms and i have started using 5w 50 Mobile 1 synthetic oil for the past 10,000kms and it just started to become abit louder?? Anyway i can fix/help the ticking? Is it dangerous in anyway?
  25. Hey peeps My motor seems to be ticking louder than before... Im guessing its the lifters being clogged up, how/what do i do with this? Is there any way to clean them or clear them up? The ticking gets quicker with the more rpm's and i was told its commonly the lifters. Car is going to be tuned soon so should i ask them to do anything about it?? Anyone's help would be appreciated. Regards Jaz
