Howto: Water Spray For Aftermarket Intercooler
jazza08 replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Thats awsome man! Personally I was too lazy to go and do what you've done lol! We need to find a way to measure the throttle body's intake temps when using the water spray after boosting the car and when not using the water spray after boosting to see the differences now... any ideas? hahaha -

Howto: Water Spray For Aftermarket Intercooler
jazza08 replied to paulr33's topic in Tutorials / DIY / FAQ
Yes of course drag cars even use dry ice to help the coolers sometimes! Pivot etc sell water spray kits, but what i made up would be no good for a FMIC as the size of it needs better pumps and somethin proper set up for it... -
i 2nd the bombed comment

R32 2 Door Window To Body Seals

Replied mate -
Sorry I meant, rb25 + box + ecu/loom + install charges would get up closer to that 7k mark. I guess alot depends on where u get the motor and who installs it! Hyperdrive is excellent and only do top work Check the 34 V-spec out the front if you are unsure along with the many other GTR's around that place!!
-
Not much point... for 7k you might get a stock rb25 engine into your car thats about it if you did it on the cheap. Good idea if you want the car for quiet along time and want to get 350+rwhp with the R32 gtst. On the other hand 7k will get you 250+rwhp if you use your money wisely on the rb20 and if you want anywhere up to 320-330rwhp the rb20 will be fine which is heaps for rwd street car!

If its not a gasket, it may be the turbo's trust bearing has shat itself! Thus it will make boost but squeel loudly on boost (more boost = louder squeel) If so new turbs/rebuild is needed.

R34 Gtr Injectors Same As R32 Gtr Injectors?
jazza08 replied to PhilGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
A tuner i spoke to told me that cyl 1 and 6 are generally most starved of fuel on rb20s. Thus to put a fuel injectors that flows slightly more and will supply that little bit more to those cylinders was a good idea... I myself can only go on what ive been told. -
Fuel Economy, Waste Gates And Boost Controllers
jazza08 replied to GTaaargh's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
My car's untuned and gettin 350ish kms and im driving below 3000-3500rpm all the time however i have a high load as im puttering around off boost all the time, and when boost starts to come on the load drops accordingly. Going to have the car tuned once i have a new turbs etc on, I think makin the lower rpm's run lean until low boost starts would be a good idea for fuel economy. I don't even know what the word is lol -
R34 Gtr Injectors Same As R32 Gtr Injectors?
jazza08 replied to PhilGTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
flow wise yes, most tuning shops will tell you to put your best flowing 2 in cyl 1 and 6 as these are most starved of fuel. -
show off As you can tell by Gary's responce tuning can make the world of difference
-
I am taking this from another thread which may have a generous dyno, but still none the less it prooves 160-170rwkw is easy (ive seen that on stock rb20 turbs) and 180+rwkw is a good goal for an rb20 with 33 turbo, obviously the 34 turbo will make a tiny bit more than a 33 turbo as im sure you aware. You should be able to do a mid 13 with an rb25 turbs if you are a good driver
-
Id say you wouldn't get TOO much more lag on an rb25 with a standard turbo upgraded to the gcg hi-flow, however on an rb20 it would be similar to puttin an rb25 turbo on (more lag more power), but maybe not too much more laggy than a standard rb25 turbo on an rb20 if you get what im trying to say? Its common ppl saying you won't notice any loss in responce so don't think he's trying to pull your leg but you will get atleast 1000rpm more lag for full boost from what ive heard/seen. Rb20 standard turbo wit supporting mods = 1bar @ 3000rpm, gcg hi-flow = 1bar @ 4000rpm (approx wit supportin mods obviously)
-
Ye sorry thats what i meant Would it make any real difference which one i got?
-
Hey peeps Just looking for some confirmation, I am aware than an rb20 afm will run out of puff well before 300rwhp. Im aiming anywhere from 270-310rwhp and so looking to upgrade the afm. Obvious choice is the z32 afm however just curious if the q45 would be a fine choice?? Does it really matter which one i choose, any things i should know about them? I think the q45 flows more but the z32 can cope with what im aiming at easily. Anyway just a quick question i want cleared up Cheers all Jaz
-
If u like lag in most cases The fact it don't make boost but still drives through those rpms as well as the squeeling (rooted intake/zorst wheel) would indicate its a turbo problem and nothing to worry about too much. Go get it checked by someone and just drive very easy off boost

Remapping An R32 Ecu Done And Done!
jazza08 replied to secondhandninja's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
200rwkw out of an rb20 wit a 34 turbo and 460kms to a tank, thats awsome let alone his cheap price!! Well done mate -
ALOT less hp, but you'll have full boost by say 3.6-3.9rpm's (1 bar?), if its tuned well. You must have it tuned properly by a tuner though, dr drift is a good tuner but you need someone who can see your motor and turbo choice and tune it accordingly you know. If its an rb20 get it rom'd as its a cheap but good option and the tuner can then set ur ignition timing and air/fuel ratios to suit ur new/existing turbo. You may crack 300rwhp with the turbo (if you had injectors) you have now where as 250rwhp would be a more realistic target with the rb25 turbo (maybe abit more with a 34 turbs) Personally id keep the turbo you have and get it tuned properly, if your still not happy then chuck it away, but what ur doing now isn't serving the turbo justice at all dude and ur selling it for alot less than its worth in my opinion...
-
Thats crazy cheap, what you dont realise is with a PROPER tune you could bring responce of the turbo down by say 500rpm if someone spent some time on it! Plus you shouldn't be running that kind of turbo without a tune for it, your motor would hate you for slapping a big turbo on and running 1bar, a/f ratios would be goin nuts lol
-
10psi on standard pump with ur turbo should be fine
-
Accordin to most dyno's and Nissans figures the sr20 has more torque, maybe due to more compression in the motor or 4 bigger pistons compaired to 6 smaller ones? Who knows but from what ive seen sr20 does have more torque (more noticable off boost than on)
