  1. I tried Keas in Sydney and a place I can't remember the name of in Melbourne who I was told knew their stuff. I also tried MV in Adelaide and after speaking to Mike the choice was clear. You can get the shift kit from Mike and then get Knox Automatics to fit it for you though.
  2. I agree you should try upgraded pads and bleed your brakes as stage 1 and then see how that feels.
  3. I'm going for air in the system or thermostat too. If the thermostat is sticking the temp will rise badly but then it springs open and all is good again. Does it happen multiple times on a drive or just the once from cold?
  4. So did we work out what size the R34 GTR ones are?
  5. I don't know why I never thought of that.
  6. Standard ones snap too. Ask Duncan. He has done it twice. My JJ ones have dust boots. I didn't get the cheapest ones they had but the next ones up.
  7. The Goldpanner was good last year.
  8. That'll buff right out, or at least be fixable with some judiciously placed race tape.
  9. GTR diffs are mechanical but if one side is completely unloaded it will freewheel. There is a sensor on the drivers side of the diff which I am guessing is why your front wheels didn't engage. I reckon if you were parked identically but with the opposite wheels on the grass and road, then the sensor would have noticed the wheel spinning and engaged the front wheels. I'm not a GTR person but I do have a GTR diff in my car.
  10. 2.5L. Smurfs blood is the best thing you can put in there. What exactly was this Motul stuff you put in? A gearbox with 2-3 new synchros will cost about $1500 to rebuild which is what is required if the best oils don't help. That doesn't include remove and refit.
  11. You can't necessarily trust that people have done what they say they have so check the two things mentioned, by myself and Roy, yourself.
  12. From memory a mate bought a rack for an R34 for about $150 from a wrecker. Sounds like a possibility. If you jack up the front of the car, front wheels off the ground, try pulling the wheel back and forth in the same directions it steers to feel for free play.
  13. Muchas gracias.
  14. Awesome thanks Anna. And thanks Clappa for the vids.
  15. Just got mine today. Looks great. Thanks Stan.
  16. Fingers still crossed.
  17. Are you bedding in the pads properly each time you machine the discs? Have you checked that all the pistons in the calipers move freely in and out?
  18. Just jap have 2 or 3 varieties.
  19. That diff is a whore. I had it before you, Majanal before me, Duncan before him, someone else before him.
  20. Actually 3rd party insurance is valid for a further 14 days after your rego expires so he was wrong there. True, but to be legal to the letter of the law is an onerous task so it's little wonder most of us choose to be practical about it. Each persons version of practical however, is a different thing. I've never been defected with my version but other people do and as we all know, personality plays a big part.
  21. And once again I did a whole drift day on one set of tyres and then drove home on them. More vids more vids! please...
  22. Aww don't feel bad Aron. We've all posted something embarrassingly noobish in our early days. Luckily for me I later became a moderator and deleted mine.
  23. November 15.
  24. You can play Smoke on the Water but I'll be doing Slayer solos. Who wants to do the screaming?
