  1. Cool, let me know if you need someone to come with you adz
  2. a mate pulled out his box in his backyard (33gtst) you guys are crazy, i'd never do it, pulled mine out a couple of times but on a hoist with a transmission jack, makes it a lot easier, took us 2 hours to pull it out on saturday (GTR box so a bit heavier etc..) and that was stuffing around... I think he found it a lot harder to get hte box back in rather than getting it out... something to keep in mind.. personally i wouldn't try it without a hoist/transmission jack... but its your car
  3. Got the gearbox out this morning. The input shaft was a bit dry, couldn't see where the grease went. The box came with the input shaft already greased up - maybe it was to old? But i think thats what was causing my clutch to catch sometimes when downshifting... still not sure whats causing the noise tho. Box is going into Nissan on Monday.
  4. So what does he think you should do? You could install both oil coolers in series, i know some one with a very powerful GTR runs 2 big oil coolers 1 in front of each wheel arch.
  5. Beefy: have you noticed any oil in your airbox? if your not running high boost and not reving it hard (racing etc..) then probably not needed, but it wouldn't hurt...
  6. Very true, and i do like some dnb as well, i just don't have/know much of it.. i really like K&D's stuff... but most of the dnb stuff i have heard doesn't really have lyrics comparable to hip hop... care to share any thing i should listen to? (DNB)?
  7. Yeah why was this thread locked ? the group buy hasn't finished, please don't lock it again until it has I tried calling, no answer.. has anyone received any money back yet?
  8. But yes there is RACV (www.racv.com.au) that do car checks... You don't have any friends here that you can get to check it out?
  9. Didn't know that - there you go So GTR turbos definatly have water lines and are cooled by water. Is it the same for Gtsts?
  10. The bonnet/bodykit/spoiler was different the front of the car looks quite a bit different to a series1... the lines on the bonnet are a lot deeper, and the headlights are different
  11. Mate got fined, at the servo, standing outside his car, leaning on it, with it running wiating for it to cool down... undercover cop car pulls up next to him, 'heres a fine for have the car running unatended' of course it was a skyline ... he was seriously leaning on the car while it was running waiting for it to cool down heh
  12. I'm confused, where's the hiphop? hip hop has the beats AND lyrics
  13. Sorry, so did we get a certain answer, GTR turbos are or aren't water cooled?
  14. I just find it hard to belive that spacers are that bad (bolt on ones) since Ben@racepace said i should get them for my car so the rims sit in the guards better, he had the same rims on his car and used spacers.... i dunno
  15. ant: yeah still interested sorry for not replying to your PM, i've just been flat out with this whole house buying thing AND trying to get my gearbox sorted out - ill get back to you soon once things have calmed down here
  16. After a fridge / washer / microwave / cordless phone, the ones we want are worth around 3k - 3.5k Anyone work at harvey norman or good guys or something and want to do me a good deal? PM me for details of what i want
  17. hmm how does that work? the load on the middle of the hub and not the bolts?
  18. Clarkey: Don't stress i don't know who he is either! Happy Birthday Andrew, 30 = kids soon doesn't it?
  19. Let us know what you think of the hankooks beefy - i've got them on my car and find them pretty good for the road... what tyre did you have on before? are the 2nd hand tyre joint giving you your money back for the 2nd hand ones? what was actualy wrong with them? as for spacers i've heard different reports from different people... i don't see the problem with them, can anyone give a proven reason that spacers are bad for performance vehicles? they may add a little extra load on the hubs, but so would putting wheels with more offset on? I don't have spacers, but i wouldn't mind getting some to get my 34GTR rims to fill the guards a bit better when i have some spare cash
  20. So in a aussie/jap car drivers side is where you put the oil cooler? Mine is in the passenger side, as i think most of the others i have seen are as well in R33 GTR's? confused now...
  21. interesting SK. when you say the RHS vent, do you mean drivers side or passenger side? is it the same in R33 GTR? Are standard GTR turbos water cooled or oil cooled? R32 and R33 ?
  22. when i installed mine i noticed that the oil temps dropped alot quicker once i warmed down the car.... the temp still got up there, (can't tell you what temp since i was running stock gauges last time i was at the track) but i don't have enough airflow going through where my oil cooler is atm.... You would want these issues sorted out before you upgrade turbos, once you make more power you will generate more heat.... i'd find out how big the oil cooler is you have, - i wouldn't want anything smaller than a 16row hks/trust etc or equiv...
  23. So you're probably running around 250rwkw i'm guessing... when the oil cooler was installed did you notice that it helped with your oil temps at all? (ie is it working as bob asked)
  24. GT-RS i thought were a bit laggy? The GT-SS seem to be a good turbo for spool up to make over 300rwkw, or if you want to save a few dollars go for 2530, they will make more power, and be a tiny bit laggier than GT-SS
  25. What size is the oil cooler? Not sure about 32GTR's but the 33GTR's you can't fit a big oil cooler near the radiator, the bigger ones 16row etc.. need to go in the front left guard... How much power/mods are you running? the more power you're making the more oil cooling you will need.
