  1. haha are those your wheels in your avatar?
  2. I think its because most people who have a POD just have it sitting there without a proper CAI - i assumed the same until i read the post where you said otherwise. Stock airbox is good less defects, power increase from a POD would be so small if at all, so not worth it IMO.
  3. doxximus: what do you do for work? how will you fix up a new mirror?
  4. standard gtst should have swaybars, upgrade to GTR or whiteline swaybars if you want something a bit stiffer
  5. Yeah i posted it above on wednesday when i found out. Reverse idler gear had burs on it, they fixed that up, checked everything else out and poped her back together...
  6. I didn't think you could get numbers inbetween letters? maybe its just a VIC thing?
  7. hahha nice one
  8. Ok gearbox is back in and have drivin it.. seems to be fixed... there is still a slight running noise, but i think that may be normal, have to listen for it when clutching in and back out when in neutral... from 1 to 10, 10 being the loudest before gearbox fixed = 10 today after gearbox fixed = 2 will see how it goes. I just miss driving my car

  10. doesn't sound as loud as mine, but hard to tell... half way through putting the gearbox back in now, nearly done, just doing an oil change as well and a couple of other things
  11. my wav file was taken from exact same place on my phone.... mine idles around 1000rpm

12.4@112mph sounds familiar Chris how many runs did you get in? good to see no one broke thier gearbox GRRRR , half way putting it back in now
  16. I have a set of 33GTR swaybars if you're after some
  17. the falken 326 are crap, stay away from them no idia about the sumitomo... check out the price of the hankook k104 compare to what you want to spend, it may be in your budget, and a lot better tyre
  18. Denton: i think you should update your profile, remove the picture and you no longer have an r33 gtst, its now a WAGON haha
  19. ohhh no not this question again.... theres a thread a month or two back about gtst vs gtr, there was never a clear answer
  20. Joel: Mine is embarrising too when its rebounding of a car or a wall next to you. Yeah people were telling me it would be the input shaft bearing, but supposedly they checked all bearings etc.. and it was all fine... This idler is for reverse - it would need a gear in between the layshaft and main shaft to reverse the gear ? otherwise it would just be another gear.
  21. 5000ks and all your other tyres are half worn? are they soft compound semi-slicks or something?
  22. Thanks, thats what i thought, but if i buy now, i'm going to have to spend $500 bucks to get it tuned, then when/if i buy a new turbo/injectors i'll have to spend another $500 to get it re-tuned... total cost 2k If i buy one when/if i upgrade turbo/injectors, say it costs me 1100 for the PFC/HC 500 for tune, total cost 1600...
  23. Joel: Maybe its the same gear as mine, 'reverse idler gear' ? ahh well
  24. Now i'm worried, what damage could the burs on that idler gear caused the other 2 gears it is in contact with? what if there were other bits of the burs that came off and floated around in my gearbox... How can they justify me paying full price for a gearbox that could be damaged/worn - may as well of bought a 2nd hand one... I don't think its fair i pay full price for this - either that or they should give me a brand new box... what rights do i have here?
  25. Ahh found it, http://auto.howstuffworks.com/transmission5.htm the purple bit labeled 'idler gear' must be it since it is always spinning /engaged (not selected) it would always make that noise, just more noticable in neutral when there is little engine noise.
