  1. I have trouble getting my oil over 75 on a filthy day in traffic, even using thermostat plate! on a cold winter night oil sits around 50 degrees on highway 60 in traffic
  2. Will be exactly the same. Tomei has bigger gearset I believe
  3. No pump will do that anyway
  4. Does a stock one push 120? If it did, it would be exacly the same as a nitto or tomei with the same pressure. That much pressure is excessive regardless. Might not 'hurt' anything in the short run, but you dont need that much pressue
  5. not completely true. Its different to air. Pressure IS pressure, it dont matter if your pump flows 8KL at redline if you have a certain size restriction, with same oil, and same pressure, the flow will be identical. The only time flow of pump counts is at idle when relief valve is shut. If both are set to certain pressure both will move the exact same at full revs. Having one at 75 and one at 70 psi the higher pressure does mean more oil flow, through pressure, not pump capacity. If this makes sense
  6. Cat does bugger all for noise. I found mine got much deeper and a bit louder with 100 cell cat than straight through, lost its crackle though
  7. Id guess stock rb30's made lazy power for the size of the engine, whereas a 25t making good power found hotter cylinder temps, made it worthy? only guessing now
  8. they sure do
  9. First, find out clearances, decide on good oil - I use redline, very expensive but excellent quality ester synthetic. And get pressure to suit. All tuners and builders saying 120 is too much is spot on. Its way high for normal setups. Pushing 1000hp, your gonna want that kind of pressure... sure, too little is worse than too much, but too much gets erosive on everything. Plus not helping oil pool in head
  10. Im pretty sure 33 ones are the same. theres a switch on bottom of radiator that is all that turns my fan on. on gtst anyway. the ac doesnt to my knowledge control fan whatsoever. I have twin thermos pushing with override switch in cab for a/c when very hot weather. (gets over 46 regularly here in summer)
  11. Iv told you a few times already on different posts, get it set correctly by someone with the correct setup jig for the job (I used lewis engines) he charged 40 bucks. Seriously thats nothing... Get it done. Pressure depends on your clearances and oil type and viscosity, restrictors etc. I run redline 15w/50, 2.5 though crank clearance, tomei pump (irrelevant to pump type-pressure is pressure when set.) I have mine set to about 70 psi hot for the setup. It doesnt matter what pump you use, capacity doesnt mean anything once relief valve is open. Get it done right - especially as changing pressure means engine out if not a tomei. And squirters blocked off? that sounds crazy man, get second hand ones or new, they are a good idea to keep in for sure.
  12. Also keep in mind if its already got ecu and tuned, ebc can bring on boost super sharp if not set right and can severely alter tune. Mine had significant changes in timing and fuel going from old boost tee to e-boost
  13. Iv seen some hang 30-40 mm down, gonna have a bad day if you run over anything at all..
  14. more is better, but I was very limited with height as the roads around here are shit and i'd rip it off if it hung under crossmember
  15. I think its on one of your other threads but tomei pump set 65-70psi hot, 2x 1.3 restrictors (I recon they crushed to 1mm) running redline 15w50 oil, enlarged return galleries and drilled returns to 9mm rear head drain/vent, made my own sump, baffled and gated holds about 7-7.5L. Catchcan I made up, returned to sump..
  16. Yeah, feeds the galleries
  17. The oil that would run to the back of the head would be the oil thats passed the lifters/cam journals and is running back down, the pressure side of the galleries would be changed minimally with G's
  18. Buy a decent turbo and ecu
  19. Way excessive. 65-80 psi hot is ample for your application. 120 is more than needed, will add excess oil to head, not to mention potentially damaging things, remember anything under high pressure is abrasive...
  20. Doesnt really matter which oil feed gets blocked, it all runs a common gallery for lifters... I have a gated and baffled sump that I made with better pickup, holds bit over 7 litres. If you need pics I think I put them up several pages back or can send more. And have a rear head drain/vent also enlarged oil return channels and drilled return holes to 9mm. Also running front of sump to cam vent but will send it to a can soon.
  21. Yeah sorry, thats right, calculated it wrong
  22. As above i left vct std, and 1.3mm in the other two. They crushed down to more like 1mm. Using 65-70 psi... Ask what the pressure is set at.. I wouldn't go any less than those restrictions as at idle lifters in mine are more audible... Remember 1x 1.5mm flows over 2/3 the volume of 2x 1mm restrictors
  23. Whats nitto's pressure set at? You dont want excessive pressure. I got lewis engines to set my pressure for 40 bucks... Highly reccomend especially if internal relief valve which means engine out
  24. You need to get pressure set to a suitable pressure for your engine first. I run a tomei pump, makes 35 psi at idle when hot and regulated to 70psi. I also have 2x 1.3 restrictors and lifters arent noisy but you can hear them. I do recon my restrictors crushed to about 1mm Remember what the pumps free flow and what the pumps flow when both are set to exact pressure is different. 70 psi of oil pressure is 70 psi. Unlike air or compressables, its hydraulic. They both move the same at given pressures with a given restriction. Basically if pressure is set, flow is irrelevant between pumps
