  1. Troy, you should put some updated pics in here mate, car looks great now And my new precious... ooooooooohhhhhhhhh...ahhhhhhhhhh Now to get my engine back!
  2. I had a similar reaction I would buy from them as I like the guys who work there and are always really helpful, and give me discounts without me asking for them, but not for double the odds... ouch.
  3. Cheers mate, thanks for the help If you take into consideration the aussie prices for both, it's pretty hard to justify the Sparco if the D1 works well. $700 at Revolution, ouch! Though a lot cheaper out of the 'states.
  4. I've been thinking that all along myself Richard! It's in the mail as we speak. That RZ of yours hasn't rocked up to my place yet though... I think we'll need to speak with the post office and find out what the go is Ok, I am well sold yeah Very minimal investment to try out the D1 quick release, and if I'm not happy with it I'll grab a Sparco (from all reports I'm sure I will be though). Should have bought it in the first place and saved myself a few hundred. Dang...
  5. I bought the turbo and housing off of a member on the forums. He's decided to go for a 3076 52 trim twin scroll unit and offered me his 71R and housing so I snapped it up. I was going to go for a BW Airwerks unit prior to this, but the Garrett is a proven unit in this application so I'm really looking forward to getting it on Best place to get the housing would be ATP turbo in the US or GCG here if you were after one though. Don;t forget the manifold to go with it though! Stuart: Was it much more $$$ to get the modification done to your 71R over the price fo a standard one?
  6. I'm the same, but to each their own I guess! I want to know how fast I can go in my car, not just how fast my car can go. However if it were a car respresenting my business then I could definitely understand a ring in for the added exposure of doing well, especially if the business has something to do with motorsport.
  7. Ahhh ok, thanks Ben. Looks like this may be the go then considering how cheap they are. If it gets any play in it I'll bin it and get a fresh one. Dave: I get away with it as I'm 6'4. I just went to a flat steering wheel instead of a dished wheel and it's sits perfectly. Thanks for the help all!
  8. It had a bit of play in it which I wasn't very happy with, but it was a good 4 or 5 years ago now so others may have improved. Ben: Thanks for the JJR tip, hell of a lot cheaper than the Works Bell units. I've not really considered using them due to my past experience, but may do now if you're happy with yours. Was it as tight as the Sparco unit, or relatively close to? Stephen: That's what I'm wary of mate, but perhaps they've improved over time? This is my current unit. It has no locator but it pretty easy to line up. But since the grease has gone from it it has a little play.
  9. Hey all, Just wondering who has experience with quick release steering wheel hubs? I've used two types now and am not 100% happy with them. Thinking of grabbing a Works Bell unit (not 100% sure on the ball locking arrangement due to poor past experience), or a spline-type Sparco group N unit. I've played around with the Sparco unit before and am leaning that way. Any thoughts? Cheers, Dane
  10. Probably a good choice mate. In replacing mine, I also went with a 3071R but in twin scroll format with a .78 rear housing. Will be interesting to see how the changes affect the performance of the 71 though.
  11. Car is looking awesome mate, can't wait to see a vid of it
  12. Very jealous of your 964 Turbo 3.6 Tacker. Definitely my favourite of the Turbo models.
  13. Thanks for the link Ben, will do that on the next set.
  14. Haha Speak with Mike Moncanda there, very helpful. I got shipping for around $85US I think for a helmet, extra visor and helmet bag and it was here within a week. He also gave me a fair discount on a Vortex2 becuase the Vortex1 could not accept the visor I wanted
  15. If you decide to run that gauntlet try bellhelmets.com. Great to deal with, really fast shipping, and better shipping prices if you email them
  16. Did you decide what turbo to replace the T300 with? Myself and BHDave have both run T300's before and probably could have helped you out with specs, bit late now though! I'm actually selling mine at the moment, but it's a kit for an SR20 so not much help either. Was a good turbo though, especially for it's age. Has made 285rwkw's on my SR with more in it.
  17. Hey Geoff, try posting this up in the Motorsport section mate, may get some responses there from people who actively race their GT-R's. Dane
  18. Best thing is they're cheap from the 'states right now
  19. Pretty poor from Cargraphic, I would have expected something a lot better considering the reputation of the company and the price of the gear. Have you spoken with them about it, or their Australian distributor?
  20. Didn't notice that, but good to know they can be purchased at a reduced rate now.
  21. I had a Nitro helmet previously which I was very happy with for the money. It was no more than a few hundred $$$ and was very comfortable. Can get them from Revolution Racegear (not sure if you still can, but I got mine form there) or bike shops. Have just picked up a Bell which is leagues ahead, but then again it's a $1400 helmet as opposed to a $200 helmet so it should be.
  22. I have to do everything I can to help my cause
  23. I just pooped my pants... because you're car lasts more than one lap
