  1. What a great day, fantastic work by the Rex club. The sessions were coming up really quickly, everything seemed to be going smoothly. Thanks Adz, appreciate it mate. You were absolutley flying out there! Nice work, must be good to be getting the times after all these years building and testing. What GT-R's?? Troy, I was happy with how the car ran. No dramas, engine felt strong, if a little slow, I was struggling a lot finding third gear in the new 'box and the car was trying to spit me off the track on it's 4.5 year old tyres and with no wheel alignment despite changing steering rack bushes but apart from that it was all good! Managed the practice, two sessions and then passenger laps before I decided to pack up as I'd run out of fuel and had an hour and a half sleep so thought it best to call it quits. I was 4 seconds off my PB there, so wasn't going anywhere near as quickly as I would have liked, but I was really happy to get the laps on the car, and find out what I need to get sorted prior to HH next month. Also good to get my first spin out of the way too Also, a congrats to Dean who cranked a 1:35 out yesterday in his S14, great work mate!
  2. Thanks Greg, me too mate!
  3. Usually a stock bonnet on an S13 should be fine as it already incorporates two types of latches, but depends who the scrutineer is. I've not had an issue with my 180 or Clubbie in the past. Clear contact is for glass, not plastic as far as I'm aware. And as for fluid reservoirs I'm not sure. I haven't run covers in the past, but that was a while ago. Clubbie didn't have any at HH earlier in the year and was not an issue. Having said that, it's best to have as much checked off the list as possible, just in case.
  4. Great news, now I can do DECA and HH
  5. 180 is alive! See you there guys...
  6. Revolution Racegear, GMP, Meridian Motorsport, Brown Davis etc
  7. Brown Davis did a great job on my cage, experience was slightly soured but the work was A1.
  8. For seats and Harnesses, I'd go with Meridian, GMP racing products, or Revolution Racegear. All very helpful, just depends what brand you're after.
  9. I'd get the cage measured up with the seat in place. I had this done and the builder still managed to bugger it up slightly (moved the seat forward, I'm a tall drink of water), resulting in a very costly and time consuming exercise of having custom rails made, plus the pain of trailering it there/back etc. Get it built around where you plan on sitting. As for the seat itself, just change it before a trackday. It takes 5 minutes, and you can put the harness in at the same time.
  10. That's awesome! I wonder what GT series that would run in?
  11. Haha that was in the budget... but a few thousand other things weren't! I think you're right Richard, and it's something I've thought about, but I just don't like the covered ones so I'm not doing it by convincing myself the open ones make for a great ram air intake But I should really do it, so I might when I have some more money and can do the aero stuff I want. Chris: I'm sure some companies would
  12. That porting is massive. Should sound very nice indeed! It's getting there Scott, hopefully driveable by Monday. I haven't got the dash done yet as a few things have gone over budget, so once that' all sorted I'll pull it out and get it flocked.
  13. Haha smooth Greg! Yeah, I think the headlight kit will tie in well with the whole black/champagne thing I've got going on, especially when the carbon bonnet goes back on, though it's looking a little worse for wear... Baron: I dig the Uras kit too mate, pity it came out after I'd spent way too much on the bodywork already. It looks to make a good base for some underbody aero work too.
  14. Yeah I think that will be the best way to do it. I'd like to keep the stuff until I change out the glass for some lexan, so symmetry it is This is the stuff here. It's pretty cool, hard to see out of at nights but works a treat during the day.
  15. Never had an issue with theft there *knocks on wood*
  16. Awesome, thanks for the tips all. Looks like inside attached to the cage it is. I have some strange mesh stuff on my windows which acts as a tint, so hopefully it doesn't have an issue with it.
  17. Great minds must think alike hey boys??! You can both get stuffed, and rooted... I'm way ahead of you, already have these waiting to go in, hence why there's no headlights in there Unfortunately they're not carbon though... The stock headlights weigh a fair bit, and were complicated to wire and just unnecessary so we decided to delete them with the Supermade kit. Now I juts need to get some lights for it, but it will make for a great cold air feed until then. Greg's Onevia is a top buy Troy, nice car. Then you'll have a real engine, none of this RB rubbish
  18. Thanks Gary. So it will 'see' through the glass ok?
  19. Hey all, car is nearly done and need some help with where to position my Stack lap timer receiver. We were thinking of putting it in here: Not sure if this will be too low for the beacon? Also, deciding which side to put the receiver is tough. From what I know for all Vic tracks, bar Sandown, it should be on the passenger side, is that right? I haven't seen anyone else here using the STACK timer (except maybe Russ??), but any experience would be helpful. For reference, this is the kit: Thanks, Dane
  20. So long as he's stacking his and not mine it's all good
  21. Cheers mate. First time I've seen it lit up, I think I'm in love
  22. Oooooooohhhhhhh, nice Bodywork back on... looks like a car again!
  23. I've been beaten by a Hyundai before
  24. Definite golf clap Richard, well put. Col: Me too mate, up until a few weeks ago. It's not a bad combo!
