  1. It's a shame because that S13 was originally built to house an RB25, would have been perfect for you... oh well.
  2. Excuse my ignorance, but if this is the basic theory, then what would be so bad about having a flat undertray on a road based track car, with some NACA ducts underneath to aid cooling, like the S14 I posted? Seems like a relatively cheap and simple way of increasing the speed of airflow under the car, and reducing turbulence?
  3. Yeah, agreed on the V6 thing too. I hate the holden 6's, I think they're crap and I wouldn't waste my time on one. Not sure what they weigh, but I dare say with all the ancillaries it'd be more than the LS1, or close enough to.
  4. I wouldn't bother with the 5l, waste of time in my opinion. The LS1's are cheap enough to not bother considering a lesser, older engine I reckon.
  5. Wow, they're some sexy looking cranks! The word "Billet" makes me randy... I've said too much...
  6. As long as you can keep you GT-R and use it when you want, then I say onto bigger and better things! Look at the bright side, you can still drive the GT-R at the track, but you get to punish 8.3 litres of American Muscle around a quick track. Sounds like heaven to me
  7. I thought it was a good design from what I know admittedly not much), and shows how to do it yourself without super expense and will be an inspiration for my car when I get it back. The guy who did it also report a massive improvement in the handling of the car, and when he smashed the front splitter off the performance of the car dropped off markedly. Here is the thread for anyone interested, with some good trial and error and real world experience. Get past some of the dicks that inhabit the site and there's some good info. http://www.ziptied.com/forums/index.php?PH...v_next=prev#new
  8. Now he has no Boost bar, and a sick dog... rough day! A mate's dog ate a whole block of chocolate and she was fine, so I wouldn't worry too much. But yeah, no good for them
  9. As requested
  10. Alright, alright... something more like this perhaps? This car has had a fair bit of aero work done, with some decent photos. Let me know if you want to see them for some inspiration.
  11. You need a big, dirty splitter like this:
  12. So much hating on other people's choice of tow car...why are people so unkind?
  13. Haha I think that's a bit unfair Baron my man! Some HSV's are duds, and some are good but it can just be a bit of a 'luck of the draw' type situation. My Clubbie has been perfectly reliable, with a seat rail replacement (done twice due to the dealer being a shifty fark), replaced steering rack boots (design fault) and a cracked radiator in 70,000km's for me *knock on wood*, and then just the usual maintenance. Though having said that, I've seen some real Friday builds around with endless issues (engines, diffs etc)... As I said to Andrew though, the auto would be a slightly better tow option as reversing is a bit of a bitch, but I'm new to trailers so I'm sure it will improve in time. And the auto's are rated higher at 2100kg's, but would require a tranny cooler.
  14. Thanks for the free advertising Andrew
  15. I'd be putting them on for road use too, they usually don't work with the stock secondary bonnet latch.
  16. Some nice shots on Joel's blog guys, not sure if they're the same as on Sarah's: http://joelstrickland.blogspot.com/
  17. Some nice brakes in this thread! Nice pick up Jack. I'm assuming they're for the new track car?
  18. Your car makes me re-think my deision to stay with my SR and not just put an LS in there, would have cost me a hell of a lot less that's for sure, and would probably end up being more reliable too. Oh, and I'd probably be able to drive it by now! Mine has LS1 edit, stock sized-custom exhaust and a K&N panel filter and makes 233rwkw's... very easy power indeed.
  19. Sounds awesome Stu, pity my clubbie doesn't sound like that!
  20. Wowzers, that's monstrously fast!
  21. Nice one mate, we need some sound clips!
  22. Wow, so cool... Nothing like the sound of a PP at full noise! Would love if you could put some more pics/vids up when it's finished. Greg: Yeah mate, great news!
