Damn each time i see your car it looks better. It was good at SAU show and shine.Good work. Pressa if all you want to do is create covers for your vents when giving it a shower, then,May i suggest for you to take the mesh off and get another person to hold a peice of cardboard against the underside of the bonnet hole and you trace from the outside a line to cut, number the covers, and make them out of perspex. Then put the mesh back in and push them in every time you wash the car. You can make a seal by putting silicone and a rubberstrip arround the edge.If you have ever seen how mirror wardrobe doors are made or showerscreen doors are made then you will know how easy it is to make the rubber option up. On the other hand somthing soft like silicone would probably suffice. To make it a tight fit would depend on how much smaller than the vent holes you cut the inserts. Just some food for thought.

Ghey.I knew that petrol was expensive for some people. But seriously,it's not that expensive.

Tyres you use(d) and how u would rate them
Trust33 replied to ZigenGT's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Ive heard that Potenza RE01's are a good tire for 3 track days and regular driving included in between. This was on a BA XR8. Still as they near their end i am told that they are good. The only complaint that ive heard is that when they loose the outer tread, they loose a bit of their conering ability. They are arround $460 a pop retail. -
Fitting Power Fc Boost Control Kit?
Trust33 replied to operationsideways's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Ive never seen these units and have allways assumed that you can buy the boost kit with the pfc and it can be controlled by the hand controller. On the other hand if i am wrong and you do have a separate heads up display/boost controlling unit, just like when you buy the boost controller on it's own, allong with the pfc then the in cabin display unit could be what the cable is for. How long is it? Try it out and see if the car will controll the boost.Start with it off, test it.Then have a go with it on but with everything on zero, test it then if all's well on in go in small increments ra!ra!ra!. On the other hand disregard what i have said. -
Why not make some sort of cover for the vent holes.

Can Having A Turbo Timer Void Insurance
Trust33 replied to {AMO}'s topic in General Automotive Discussion
Im sure someone is looking for insurance for their ride. Find out what the deal is in regards to haveing non roadworthy parts on the car.Im sure the one answer should give the answer for all of our questions. Also,if the parts must be engineerd, why do they have those parts listed on their policy. -
-
That will be a good idea for the noob generation. I am going for an emissions test at the end of the month to determine wether or not my car is roadworthy. It will pass i have no doubt about that. But then i will be re-registering it after having it off the road for more than a year.So money will allso be going into full comp insurance etc. After that i will look at the paint gear. But for othe meantime i might just go down a pay dymocks a visit.

Hey fReak32,what sort of literage of paint is required to paint the whole car? What kind of paint is it,and what kind of gun do you use for the job. I am trying to collect some information of painting because i am going to try my hand at it. It would be a good conversion with the paint to match.Ive seen an old merc with a 13b turbo rotary engine in it.Yours will be that much more different. You could even get an article going on here or in a magazine at the completion as being ''probably'' the first RB20det merc in the country if not the world. Yeah that stuff that i was talking about is avaliable. The big ''but'' is that i dont realy know if it i sealed because of the way it is made it has to be able to be bent into position therefore the aluminium cant be properly sealed. It would be allright for an induction pipe. I kinda looks like the outside of the bendable part of a microphone stand.

In NSW the bonnet squirters are illeagal to have wired in to a power source or even with a toggle switch to turn them off/on. But they are allright if their purpose is soley to squirt water.nothing else. That is also what i heard about the lights if they are on some1 may mistake you for a cop?!?

So was the commo in the fence stolen??? -
Hi all you spraypainting/bodypreping pros.Im not spraying my car now or in the near future.Though,i would like to know about spray painting and what is involved for the diy man.Especially in regards to paint, guns used and body preping. One question that i have is when i watch a car building show and i see the paint guy pouring the paint into the tin for the gun i see them use a paper funnel. Is this like a filter or somthing? What sort of cheap paint would you suggest for somone trying to learn how to paint car pannels and guns ra ra ra like i said in the first parragraph. By the way good on the tigers!!!!

Yeah go a s15 front cut conversion like JMS in australia have done. The SR's are proven too produce the goods and they are still within the weight/handeling capabilities of the cars supension systems. A full blown sr will munch the RB at drift duties. It has a better flowing head, alloy block! Put quite simply it is a modern engine where as,sorry to say this guys,an RB20 is vitually a dinosour. If you had an R32 then it would be a different story id say. Then you would start looking at Rb25's/26's. You will want a light nimble car with loads of on tap power to burn on call mid way through a corner. What sort of gearbox have you chosen for the car.Custom ratios all the way baby.

Trust33 replied to Majanal's topic in New South Wales
I was there.Maganal was drifting great as usual, the cappa ute and monaro were pretty spectacular as well.I enjoyed the team drifting. Cat was going good, darren appelton was kicking ass and bates was going well. The only real problem i had was the ammount of oil downs and blatant delays that happened holding up the drifting. I had a laugh,as did everyone, when the oil down guy fell off the back of the ute trying to clean up the spill. A good day non the less. Did anyone see the holden literally wrapped under the wire fence and into the post on the way out of the event? What the??? -
Great result. You should post up your results in the ''all dyno results thread''.
