  1. *It is called a ''visor''.When i went to get my car engineerd they said that gauges have to be behind it but not below it. *Bonnet squirters with ''colored led lights'' that are wired in for power are illegal.Even with a toggle on/off switch. You simply cant wire them in. *If you have a bodykit it has to be of a legal height and affixed properly. *A boot which has a spoiler with a brake light as stock, and is replaced by say a drift wing that is now missing the brake light is illegal. There must be a light mounted in the back window. *The stuff about the bonnet.Catches must soild and lock properly, frame steardy i got my ''www.carmate.com'' fiberglass one passed with fowards and rearwards facing vents. *Cuts to the body/chassie must be engineer certified. *The enginner that i went to said ''pod filters'' are illegal because it is an emissions altering device. Also that simply enclosing them wont do any good. *Everything regarding ''BOVS'' is that it has to be recirculating back into the system. No atmo venting. *Oil catch cans must reciculate back through the system. *aftermarket ecus,no no. *Aftermarket boost controller,no no. * In NSW the legal exhaust DB limit is 90db. *No matter if you get an aftermarket turbo engineered, you will still fail the cars required emmissions test @ the epa. *Turbo timers are illegal. *Fmic are legal to have mounted front and centre but the catch is that if your emmissions change and you exceed standards because of it,it has to come off. That's one reason why they say that you cant have one without having the other. Oil cooler.Im not for certain on this one.Has to be hard mounted from the chassie. With proper nylon lock nuts or spring washers used soild brackets no plastic, proper hoses and fittings. And wherever rubbing occurs of the hoses on anything, protection needs to be applied. *Coil over suspension is legal as long as no part of the car dips below 100mm. *I dont know about aftermarket handeling geometry I.E whiteline handeling kits swaybars, camber kits, urethane bushes, catsor rods and the like etc. But,Sydeny Kid says that they are street legal. When i spoke to the engineer he said that they should be able to be engineered he just had to see them on the car. *wheels can be engineered.I cant remember what size though that they can go up from stock size though. Basically, allmost! anything that you have on the car that is aftermarket can be engineered. And it does get very technical. Sorry i cant give a very detailed expression of what is involved I.E measurements, pollution shit etc. This should however be a good starter guide as to what is and what isnt illegal. You can compare what i have with what you have and then what the rta has to make a final decision as to what is legal. Also my advise is to contact an engineer on this.as whether or not you want to go for your next lot of mods. The www.rta.nsw.gov.au has a whole heap of pdf's/writeups on totally comparable stuffs as to what i dicussed. They never let us do any of the fun stuff
  2. nice.Good amatur edit.
  3. There are allright but they dont flow as efficiently as a split dump.No good i wouldnt go as far as saying that.
  4. Im going too.Wear somthing bright so i can see you.
  5. Can you vsend a pic of the pod cover to [email protected] plz.
  6. Ive been fiddling arround with mine and I think the solenoiod is stuffed. Basically no matter what configuration ive had the hoses on it overboosts spasticly. I know for a fact that when i had my ebc solenoid installed but in the off position that the boost stayed a consistent 7-8psi.But with the controller on no matter what i had it set to,boost was virtually uncontrollable. Atm the pressure hose has the T peice in it venting into the bov return pipe, this also leads to the top pipe of the boost solenoid. And the wastegate actuator running from the bottom pipe of the solenoid. This way ive found is the best config for me as it holds boost then a tad longer than any of the other ways ive had it configured. The only other thing that ive been thinking about is should i disconnect the plug.Ive been told that if the computer is not sending a signal to the solenoid that the solenoid has a preset 5psi. Still id like a concrete answer if any1 can give it.I tried last week and had a few replys but their ways of plumbing all turned up no good. Should i put another T on the wastegate side and ditto what ive done to the top pipe?
  7. That stuf is nowhere near what im thinking of. I was thinking more allong the lines of full alluminium.
  8. Luv the exposed gearset is that an optional extra at the dealers.
  9. The only kind of pipe ive seen like what you describe,as far as i know is sold at hardware stores. They have a smooth finish but still are rough only because of outside edge ditto on the inside but is still flexible. There is only one way in which the pipe can flex. And that is multiple joins.Which in turn give it that bumpy feel. If you do find what you are looking for can you pm me with a description of where you got it from/who makes it and a pic HTH...(hope that helps)
  10. Hi mate would you sell the pillar mount on it's own? What car did it come off?
  11. When my car overheated it showed weak points in the cooling system a leaky water pump, inlet mani gasket rubber compound had worn through and the plastic join peice on the firewall wore through. I wouldnt know a price on labour as i try to do as much of the work as i can. I was once quoted $1200 for a clutch fit.So i changed it with the help of my dad and pocketed the labour costs. Some $700 I am no mechanic.
  12. Monkey!
  13. When you say ''I fitted a proper rear muffler and a resonator,'' are you saying that you stuck with the stock sized items. What engine and what db did you make. What rpm was the car db tested at?
  14. Yes do they i would also like to know cause when i asked the person i was speaking to diddnt know.
  15. Yes lets all cut our handbrake cables that way when we go to drift we really wont be drifting we will look like idiots swerveing for no reason. Not flaming just having a laugh.
  16. As the title suggests. I know this one has been done to death.But.Can any1 suggest a good street legal exhausts, for nsw roads (90db limit). There are many threads arround with talk on street legal exhausts that i have came accross but none seem to speak of the cold hard facts. BTW i was at the engineers today and came up with 97db (failed ). With a hks twin dump into what i belive to be 2.75'' to cat.Cat 2.75'' and a 3'' hot dog/muffler and 3'' back exhaust to with cannon muffler. (Though an exhaust shop on inspection did say it looked like it was 3.5'' catback). I eneded up changing all engine performance mods bar fpr, exhaust, fmic and gtr pump. The car still has to go down to get an emissions test to see if the intercooler seveerly alters the emissions. He also said to me that a silencer is not regarded as legal unless it is spot welded into place.Go figure. Am i better off throwing in another hot dog/muffler or would my money be better spent on. 1.Exhaust valve controller. 2.New exhaust sys Jap style 3.New exhaust from a local exhaust shop. 4.Fitting another muffler mid way and hope for the best so i will have 3 inc the rear muffler/cannon. 5.Or just fitting a stock system passing the db test and then throwing the sporty back on.
  17. You are certain that it is the xforce exhaust. All flanges these days are lazer cut. Are you sure that it's not an exh manifold stud or 2 broken.I ask because i had that problem and so have many others with gts-t's. The only fix for that was an easy out drill bit and new exh mani studs.
  18. Find the part number from nissan and ask them how much it will cost. Then give repco a call or any of the locals supercheap, autobarn, autoone etc and you will most surely be able to get a generic brand at a fraction of the cost.
  19. I thought the solenoid was blocked off like that if you wanted a cheapo way to make boost. What boost are you making? What mods are you running? Does any1 know what order the hoses go in from the solenoid to actuator and pressure source.
  20. Im just adding to my whore count.
  21. I wouldnt expect the motor to last to long if you were at wot most of the time. 233rwkw @ 14psi sound like a good starter to me. From what ive herd these turbos are a good turbo for drifting.Because of their mid range punch delivery. B)
  22. Can you fit bigger callipers on further on down the track without any major modifycations once the new brackets are made for it. Bigger rotors will reduce the brake fade factor right??
