I have insomnia type 2 most nights and type 1 about once or twice a week, when something upsetting has happened during the day or I'm anxious. I usually get between 3-5 hours a sleep per night for about the past 7 years. I'm pretty used to working full time, studying part time and going to the gym 6 days a week on little sleep now; however I think lack of sleep affects me emotionally.
