Right rear lower wishbone? or subrame parts? Right front fender? Right front - any wishbones etc (haven't worked out whats damaged up there yet) -
Hi As per title, looking for the original boost control value (on RHS guard, vacuum tubes etc). Min has stopped working, and I want to keep motor stock. Thanks John

Couldn't get the hands in close enough to get at the ends under the plenum, so have used a straight connector and some snail clamps. Changed oil and filter, just need to fit new battery and all ready for rego. Oh and the obligatory after change degrease (oil filter relocator kit isn't bulletproof for not spilling oil )
-
After three degrease routines and poking around with a massive overhead light and a tube I traced all the lines. News is still breathtakingly odd. The line that goes from the back of the plenum, and is supposed to connect to the T metal tube line (under plenum) actually goes to a Y fork that has been installed in the std boost controller line at the front. The line that is in the T metal tube (above) goes nowhere and has a bolt in the end. The std boost controller lines are plumbed up OK (with the exception of the metal Y fork). So I think I will be getting some odd boost spikes - not a lot of pressure will make it down that tube. Since I can barely see these tubes, let alone get my fat anglo paws inside the spaces, should I cheap-shot and just buy some tube connectors, or re-tube them all with the proper lines. I'd like to do the latter, but if i'ts going to be a sh!t of a job, I'd rather not start....

So far: - two big ones are OK - small one goes directly to the factory boost controller via a dodgy plastic connector (not via metal tube). f* ony knows what the wastegates are connected to. I know they are connected to the metal tubing (I did this myself when I rebuilt turbos). There's pressure there so it must be wired up to something else. It's almost impossible to see the tube under there. Half the wiring is obviously in the wrong spot as well. If inly I was 4 foot tall and had tiny little hands instead of being 6'2" and 100+ kgs

I had a poke around today and the tube that comes up with a bolt in it is connected soemwhere below the plenum. one of the tubes connecting to the stock boost controller is to the middle one. i've pushed the car into the sun and will have a look from underneath. If you have a pic or can take one of your piping with the plenum out it would be a great ref Cheers, John

Yes please, just to check. I have found a pic of a stock plenum, and found a manual on line. I've marked up the "where this one goes according to manual". My setup obviously isn't right The fact that I have a large hose from plenum not connected to anything is a worry - will be chasing it down tomorrow (just wish I had a camera on a probe - it's f* terrible tracing anything under there). Cheers, John
-
I have a vac hose that comes out of the back of the plenum and goes no-where. Does anyone have a plenum out, and could they mark up where each line goes? Please? (on a stock R32 GTR? thanks! John

1/- Anyone have a stock-ish engine bay with a GREX oil filter relocation kit? Mine needs re-doing and I'd like to see a decent engine bay (pics or in person). 2/- I have a Power FC and integrated boost controller - I would like it fitted and dyno-tuned and mapped (properly and without hassles). Recommendations for post here, against please PM. 3/- HKS Air Pods - the 3 layer filters are on back order in Japan, so if you need spare elements soon I'd be ordering now.. Cheers, X

Botched Up Grex Oil Filter Relocation Kit R32 Gtr

It's one (*of two) larger ones. Thge stock actuators are definitely connected (had to rebuild turbos). There was a boost controller fitted (with hole in hose). I asked mech to take it back to stock - he came up with the bolt in the hose cause it wouldn't fit to anything..... I think I need to check all my plumbing again.. -

Battery is a temp fit - spare from the boat (original died, again). nothing holds the filter in place apart from the bent flat bracket. Note filter is ssmack bang in front of dipstick.... I really need to see a stock engine bay - i've got a spare vacuum hose coming from engine (with bolt in it) -

Botched Up Grex Oil Filter Relocation Kit R32 Gtr

Yours seems to be the same - the restrictor unit and other stuff has been removed/relocated. I think they've shortened the oil cables/sheaths as well (!) Here's what my (rather pathetically stock) engine bay looks like: Does ne1 have a stock engine bay? There also seems to be something missing - there's a bracket on the tower with nothing on it.....??? -

Looks a lot nicer than mine - any chance I could get a shot from vertical (so I can see where the lines are run?) -

I was hoping that was the case - my engine bay is a lot busier - also I don't remember there being right angle connectors (I think mine are straight in) so may not be a Grex kit? I don't have the oil cooler or other go-hard parts (running std boost) so a stock pic would be perfect.... -
Soak in Kero for as long as you can. Will soften, but it takes a long time. Don't use a wire brush as it will scratch surface. Use a fine bronze brush, or a die grinder with a polishing cloth fitted. if they are pitted, new is the go. If they are carboned up, look at leaking turbos, valve stems, or broken rings. Also if engine has overheated, piston rings lose their tension.

The guys that fitted my oil filter relocation kit put it in front of the dipstick on a homemade bracket (flat bar) becuase they reckon they couldn't close the bonnet on the filter. If someone has one fitted properly to a BNR32 could yous please upload a photo of the filter location on the strut tower plus another where the pipes are run (mine are rubbing on the plenum and that can't be good. Any advice on a suitable filter to use (the guys chucked the installation manual which had the sizes etc on it ) Thanks! :worship: John

If anyone has one please let me know ASAP. One of my nylon gears has stripped. Must be in good condition. Only R32 GTR Drivers will fit
