started polishing, no more sanding, yay!

Extreme paint correction: Only joking, but its the same thing i guess, 3000 grit would take far less buffing than the 1200 i used. 1200 takes ages to buff out.

Finished rubbing the clear and started polishing. I can see now why its so hard to get it perfect, i have what looks like moguls at the ski fields. Its a bit more than a few finger marks, but its ok im still happy with it, the colour is just how i wanted it. Maybe better. Anyway im about halfway into the first cutting compound, two more finer and finer after this one. Hows that for paint correction? Actually takes many many passes with the machine to get ALL the 1200 grit scratches off.

Thats crazy. Make one out of fibreglass. $40 and a few hours work.

Yes. Im not even thinking about it. I learned my lesson. Which makes it painful to see deals like this, but thats life.

Ok it looks like almost 3 years since someone posted in this thread. Theres some new stuff out there to help quit smoking, in particular, the e-cigarette. The ones that look like a cigarette are not real good, they dont feel like your smoking and dont deliver much if any nicotine. The good ones really do work, i bought one last week and it does the job quite well. It hits your throat like smoke and you can choose the strength of nicotine. Before i go on about it id like to mention that THE LONG TERM EFFECTS ARE NOT KNOWN. This is what we know about it so far: So like they say in the lecture, you have fingertip control of your nicotine fix, just like a normal cigarette. This makes it real easy to convert and have no withdrawals. For me the hardest thing was finding a flavour i like or one that is nasty like a smoke is. The nasty smoke flavour helps, because its so much like a real cigarette. From here i can start cutting the nicotine levels down, or vape less often. Or if i keep going its nowhere near as bad as smoking. I still feel like im smoking, but my lungs feel bigger and less restricted. Theres no ash, butts or stinky smoke that sticks to everything. I can have one puff or 20. I dont need a lighter and its not a fire hazard. I got my first kit for the price of a pack of smokes, and its costing me about $2 for the equivalent of a pack of 40s, choose your nicotine strength just like cigarettes. What was it again? Sexting... Whats that?, is that a crime? I guess its like porn, so underage isnt allowed. I dont really understand it, but it just sounds like the modern equivalent of trying to hook up with a girl in very bad taste; or not being able to hang with your girl, so you do that. Id say it must have been fairly inapropriate (cant spell) or it wouldnt have been such a big deal.

I cant wait either. I think its going to look awesome, i imagine it gleaming in the sun like an emerald set in gold. Body is rubbed back, about 1/3 done with the plastics. I have trimmed the brake air deflecors, i think it scraped off a balance weight from the left wheel, will have to re balance it. Got some good cutting compound from the paintshop where i got the paint and everything, they have been very helpful.

I just give mine a little feather on the gas. Old shtbox that it is i dont expect any better. Rubbing back the clear, more sanding, just finer, i must have sanded everything at least 30 times by now. This is the last one, no more sanding after this. Thank rajabajaba.

Moved it out of the garage to turn it around , and the brake air deflectors are scraping on the inside of the wheels. Ill have to trim them up a bit, easy, its alloy, and i have good snips. Rubbing back the orange peel: Its going to take a while to do properly and not rub through the clear. Fairly happy with the few defects, as its showing up the smallest scratches and bits of sht now. Car body is 2/3 finished, plastics next. Then 3 buffing compunds, a sealer, waxes, re-assemble and a full detail. Yes, still a lot to do, but it feels good to be near the end. Random Access Memories will no doubt keep playing over and over, but this car is my "game of love" so im "doing it right".

No doubt they flogged the guts out of it. Oil change, filter, brake pads, gear oil etc etc. What a pain, and ill bet it never feels the same again. I know my old 32 was stolen at some point in its life, The ignition barrel was stuffed. 3 years of fking around with new bushes, bearings, this and that. Its getting better now. Hope yours gets better soon. Oh... and underneath, mine is hammered, so much the chassis is a bit off.

My electronic cigarette kit arrived today. It gives almost the same feeling in the throat and nicotine satisfaction as a normal cigarette. But no smoke, no carcinogens. And no foul taste, lots of flavours to choose. Ps: I have learned that modern (trendy) people now refer to a tobacco cig as an "analogue cigarette". Lol

3 weeks since i sprayed the final coats. Im just having a look to see if i can start rubbing it with 12-1500 Hmmm.... maybe. A bit of haze and swirl marks, but it was a quick sand and buff: Maybe ill just start the wet sanding and buff at the end of the week. The colour is just the way i want it, a bit more gold than the real GMH colour, i got to compare it today to a new ute.

Installed brass shifter bush, and detent springs, good thing i had a look under there, one gearbox cross member bolt was coming out, and the others were finger tight. Wont forget again. Will use blue thread lock this time too.

New sway bar bushes and links fitted all round. Its been 3 weeks tomorrow since i painted it. Might start wet rubbing with 1200 soon. Looks good with the gold wheels......

Been doing some research, it seems that drug makers use jam jars and garbage bin lids etc to make drugs. Not lab glassware. I feel ripped off. Did some inquiring today and it seems these guys are mystery men. Not with the normal police, i dont know who they are. WTF? Anyway with some luck ill get it back and make incredible real deal coffee ice cream. I think id have a batch perfected before summer comes around. People like to kill my dreams........

Cool.... I actually wanted to try and capture the aromas from freshly ground coffee, by freezing everything, including the glassware, grind the coffee, put it in the first chamber by itself or with ice water, then gradually bring it up to 25-30c, distill it through a Vigreaux column to concentrate it, and try to condense the aromas again possibly id have to use Nitrogen to get cold enough. The elusive essence of coffee, but it has to be stored cryogenically. Then theres chocolate, i wonder if you could get an aroma thats like the taste of chocolate, not the usual smell you get. Or an essence of full on choc flavour to add to things. And all the other things, just use your imagination, what would be awesome?, try and make it.

Its funny, but i didnt really look at their ID, you know in a bit of shock and all that. I just found out it wasnt the drug squad, who was it then? interesting........... Bought a chemistry set from China, to do some food experiments. Anyway, because im not into amphetamines and such, i didnt realize its the kind of thing they use to make it. The police told me they do. When they Knocked on my door this morning and asked what its for. I dont want do have anything to do with that sht. Now they will use it for a display set for education purposes. I investigated the legality of alcohol distillation and Nicotine for E cigarettes, but not the glassware. I just didnt realize or think it through, i dont know if its my fault or not. But i feel stupid. Oh well sht happens.

Because you should run a thermostat, when its cold it has to still run through the oil filter. It has to always run through the filter. First or last, as long as the oil is always going through it. Look at all those bits.... its become as tight as the engine bay. Makes me think about all the free space on the left side............
