  1. Afm dry solder. As suggested don't do anything else until you know it's not this. Don't waste ur money
  2. The muffler probably has restrictions within it so I would probably say it is restrictive. I had similar issues years ago and when I cut the muffler open was surprised how restrictive it was. I went varex in the end so best of both worlds. Just saw your pic. That centre muffler would keep it quiet even with a good quality cannon.
  3. If the flanges line up you can always try to put the axle back part of the jjr system and see how it sounds!
  4. Yeah I have read the topics relating to the mod, makes sense why it works so well. Anyone in Melbourne?
  5. To reduce turbulence. Who does it for $50 btw?
  6. For what you have 4 inch is a bit of an overkill. Even if you go e-85 on a 26 it is quite happy at 400+.
  7. Nah just the dirty thirties that keep breaking gearboxes
  8. A boosted shopping trolley... Get it right will u
  9. With all that lag, high revving, obnoxious driving with -5s..... mmmmm, we love going to the shops
  10. Yeah but it shouldn't be a timeless argument because these unqualified opinions of -5s being lag monsters on the street and so unacceptable to drive daily is just garbage. Maybe I should post up a video on my daily driving for people to actually see the truth rather than listen to incorrect opinion.
  11. It's funny how everyone refuses to change gears when over taking then all of a sudden says the set up is laggy. Driving my hsv 6.0l auto daily for 6 years, with all that bottom end torque it still geared down when overtaking or pulling out quickly from traffic.... go figure, maybe the computer and converter got it wrong for all that time. Based on everyone's theories it must of been laggier than an rb26 with -9s because apparently you guys never change gears to overtake. My experience driving mine daily is that it remains off boost for 90 percent of the time and when - need to cut in or overtake, I hold my revs up wait for the right time and rape the road, no lag, not waiting for anything to happen just instant torque and power as soon as I need it, and we are talking 3500rpm up not holding it at 4500 rpm as some of you suggest you need to do with -5s, that opinion is garbage and false. If the op want quicker spool up rates and lower rpm max boost, he needs the suggested breathing mods and tell his tuner to tune it for response/ cam gear settings etc, as already suggested. And yes it will be a totally different car. If he wants a demonstration I am more than happy to show him with my exhaust valve closed where the turbos take an eternity to spool and with it open where it ramps up aggressively from 3500rpm. A pure and honest comparison of the 2 extremes of a choked up exhaust system compared to a high flowing exhaust system that change the car characteristics immensely.
  12. I love my alfa and it's 43 wkws doesn't come in till 4500 rpm. It's a lag monster.
  13. Yeah I don't get it either GTRPSI. People try to convince themselves and others that -5s are like a switch that come on at 4500 rpm which is total garbage. The slight loss you have down low is more than made up from 4500 onwards. And part throttle response is more that adequate when you need it. Not only the s2000 needs revs as you mentioned but don't forget the rotas spinning their symphonies. Like you I just don't experience all these theories of un-livable lag in the real world
  14. Now your just being stupid. 500rpm is a far cry from 2000 rpm give or take.
  15. So what's ur point? My point is that I have no lag problems because it suits my driving style OR I have adapted my driving style to suit the car. Either/or it doesn't matter. Perfect set up in my eyes.
  16. Interesting views about -5s being lag monsters.... I never really notice because I am always in the right gear and never go WOT when I am at 2500 rpm. Depends on the style of driving. I keep mine at 3500+ when I drive daily. Suppose it's my style of driving that makes my -5 setup very responsive. As mentioned previous if I am on part throttle at about 3500rpm and give it a boot, I feel minimal lag as it's at least 50% boost and ramps up so quickly I don't even notice it. If you expect -5s to come on hard at less than 3000rpm, well they won't, so to match your driving style you need smaller turbos. If you drive similar to me then -5s definitely are not laggy.
  17. Read post 2 and 5. this is what you need. Dont listen to exhaust places, they know shit.
  18. fark..... get another quote from somewhere else... unless you want to show the under your car you can get mild steel with a stainless rear muffler for the $1200 mark. shop around mate
  19. he he he....... love it..... definitely going to be my next setup as a daily..... he he he
  20. Everyone needs one setup like this in their lives, just once www.youtube.com/watch?v=4NbJ47avAwg Heaven
  21. If you want 10 more kws go to a different workshop, pay them a grand to work their magic and I guarantee your dyno sheet will show 10 more kws... he he he
  22. ha ha ha love the replies......Kickboxer!!!! What a movie.
  23. Who ever told you this?.......... Never talk to them again
  24. Roy is spot on with what he said right here: quote 'As others have said spend the time on the good quality dump pipes that have 76mm outlet. Get matching front pipes and then get a good 3.5" exhaust that matches the merge of the 76mm front pipe.' get rid of the 3inch collector collar and flange and full 3.5 inch exhaust. Like this
