  1. Is the clutch for an RB26? You know if it's a pull or push type?
  2. With a few simple mods the car can be pushed easily to 350kw, with internals its 400, but yes the car will see plenty of track time once it is reliable enough not to break parts. The pads arrived on Friday, discs today. I really hope they get rid of the soft, spongey, very un-nerving feeling the car has had since purchase..
  3. Was going to until I read some guy actually got a used machined disc in his set which put me off instantly, like how bad do you have to be. Rang GSL Rallysport back and ordered the RDA front discs and a set of the QFM HPX pads. Told him I found him through SAU too which he seem pleased to hear. Greg at GSL said RDA had updated their range and they were some dark anodised style dimpled discs so i'm keen to see how they look aswell. All I can say is thanks for the help guys and a big thanks to Greg at GSL for being very helpful over the phone and organising it all promptly, cheers mate.
  4. Just rang GSL Rallysport and Brakes direct, both same prices and said plain discs are actually more than the slotted ones. Shipping will be a bit more from GSL probably but i'd rather go with an SAU advertised dealer than anyone else and especially over the guy on Ebay with some hilarious feedback. I think i'll ring GSL back and see what they can do for postage on them, cheers for the advice so far.
  5. Yeah, not got the funds for better discs, but bigger brakes are already high on the list of needs so it's only going to be temporary hopefully. I suppose everyone here goes GSLRallysport for their RDA+QFM setups? Any one maybe in Sydney or Newcastle or in between?
  6. Looking at some new front discs for a non-Brembo R32 GT-R as the oldies are starting to squeal constantly and RDA seem to be the cheapest decent discs around for a decent price. What i'd like to know is if there is going to be a big enough difference in performance between their plain discs and their basic slotted drilled discs to justify spending around twice the price? It's only due to still having the original nissan calipers that we're looking for a cheap 'band-aid' solution to last a couple of months.
  7. Thanks guys, that's quite reassuring Piggaz. Have apparently been quoted 2700 for a HKS twin jobby, don't even know if that's installation included. Where in Sydney or the Central Coast(located) would be a good place to start for good pricing and service/help etc?
  8. Howdy fellas, I'm looking for some advice and opinions on a clutch upgrade as I have been researching and it seems that most are either for lesser power or I cannot get any solid information for ie: price, best place to buy, etc. So basically the car is making 300rwkw and the clutch is slipping really bad(even now that it's in rwd), the car is also now rolling in gear with the clutch in. Now the tricky decision that we could use some experienced advice with is that the turbo's on the car are capable of over 500kw/700ps/690hp and it's only the lack of internals keeping it at 300 for now. The internals are planned within the next year god willing but may get put off for another due to some other things coming up. From what I have been reading a twin plate seems to be a minimum requirement for the current power to take the abuse and there seems to be a few options here but it also seems that twins are on the limit of the planned upgrades after the clutch and a triple may be on the cards. I'm kinda stumped though as I am pretty sure i read that Jim Berry can make single or twin-plate setups(can't remember which) to handle 500kw and vaguely remember a couple of other mentions about NPC and others. I also expect numerous other parts will break after fitting a new clutch from others' experiences here, i'm just hoping that the clutch will not be on that list for a long time even with the future power upgrades in the next year or two.
  9. Cheers for this Adam, excellent tutorial that i have been looking everywhere for. One question I have for anyone who can help is when stated: 'If you are using a multi plate clutch you also need to ensure that the splines are lined up. An old gearbox input shaft can be used in that case', I take it this was a used part bought for this reason as opposed to using the one in the gearbox which i'm guessing is bolted in etc? I'm looking to replace a worn push type clutch with a multi-plate setup is my reason for asking.
  10. No probs mate, look forward to getting involved in something like this soon.
  11. Interested in this fatz, should have the 32 together and tuned by then. Pm me if you've still got spots.
  12. Thanks just figured that out before checking back here, guess that's what I get when I didn't take it apart to know. Cheers 89CAL
  13. Hey guys, looking to replace the little rubber grommets behind the crank angle sensor mounting bolts, any chance someone knows a part number or has the page for it? Expecting Nissan to be one of the only places to source these. Can get pics soonish if required. Cheers.
