  1. Wished I could have made it in person to this Terry as it was only an hour or so away but my work schedule just didn't allow Next best thing was watching the whole funeral on live feed over the net, which was put up via CAMS Australia It was such a pleasure hearing the amazing stories etc from everyone that spoke about Sir Jack A real privilege being able to get an insight into what he was like as a man, father, racer and engineer. Just an unreal guy all around. Only wish I could have met him
  2. Chasing a set of these either NEW or in excellent condition, as pictured below, I am after the lower arm/part (with 4 x holes) only please PM or call/txt on 0407 175 417 Cheers
  3. Few shots of the new rear quarters and exterior pillar trim Random rear interior shot
  4. Endless CC-RG Not as easy as that sorry mate Cheers for the feedback Abdul. It's always hard to appreciate with photos (especially with my photography skills). Hold your thoughts until you them in the flesh, especially at night, they are something else Thanks Michael, cheers for the kind words. They really are 'the business' and perfectly modernise the car. Hopefully I'll get photos of them all with a decent camera soon. Awwww yeh. Wouldn't dream of changing them man! I love that degree of separation they give the car and for me they are one of the things I love the most about the look of the car
  5. Will aim to get down there early for a look........who else is going?
  6. Cheers Michael, I had forgotten about Hasemi...I remember now we discussed their stuff once before. Thanks for the reminder mate And Electra OMFG!! Over $2k for the N1 boot lip.....out of control Cheers man. Would be great if you could get as much info as possible so we can get this sorted! Cool. One of those threads in particular is very informative/useful just haven't had the time to get to the bottom of the issue yet. I was hoping to hear from you Richard. I was running oem upper arms with the whiteline bush kit and had the same noise/issue...? I swapped them out and put in a near new set of of nismo upper arms and the noise remains Did you ever have this with any of your previous front end set ups? I do have a set of the Nismo upper brackets which as you say alleviate some of the binding/stress on the upper arms but I am unsure if this will resolve the noise problem... Also, what tension rods (caster adj) are you using?
  7. Endless time! Coil/springs are fine. Everything is new...hopefully we will get to the bottom of it soon and report back. Yeh JJ don't have a carbon one listed ATM....keen to hear peoples thoughts on whether it will enhance the overall appeal of car or not needed... I just cant decide... guess only way is to buy one and sit it on there! As always cheers for the input man. Yeah would have to be carbon I am thinking but maybe glass one painted would be nice??? Thanks heaps mate! Greatly appreciated. Congrats on getting yours done as well. Great (well not really) to hear someone else is having this issue! Yeah it's fkd right. Very hard to pinpoint. Huh I am running brand new revalved Bilsteins as well............I did ask Gary and others and they have all said they have NEVER had an issue with them. What else does your front end set up consist of? What ride height and camber/caster settings? Let me know how you go, I have read through links below but haven't given then enough time to try and figure a solution... http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/172177-adjustable-upper-arms-problem-r32-gtr/page-2 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/248113-r32-gtr-front-upper-arms/ I am thinking I will have to make some changes however: 1. Fully adjustable upper arms (sliding type) 2. Nismo upper arm mounts 3. Adjustable tension rods (to allow for more caster adj) 4. Maybe roll centre spacers (I think done by Moonface?)
  8. Where did Richard go? No probs, lights are all factory items but have been internally converted to LED. These were done in Japan and was all organised by a mate. Have still been flat out trying to finish this car off...seems never ending....2 years and 2 months odd now Replaced one of the spherical bearings that press into the front strut tops (driver side). This has solved one noise and the bearing was definitely not within tolerance as could actually feel the movement/slop once it was out! Next issue was the p/steer low pressure return decided to start leaking somewhere around where the rubber hose joins into the metal pipe...has been temp fixed and waiting on a new line to turn up from Japan. Front upper arms bushing issue is also still ongoing...we swapped out these for a spare set of really good condition Nismo arms I had. This has removed any slop in the upper arms BUT there is still an very annoying noise that is coming from what just seems to be the driver side only??!! It's very noticeable on bumby/rough roads and sounds like something is loose or something is hitting something else...it's NOT overly loud either, just enough to drive you INSANE!! Has anyone else come across this issue? I am thinking it is something to do with the camber/castor settings, the car being lowered and the design flaws inherent with 32 gtr front end suspension? Have also been thinking an N1 carbon BOOT lip would set the rear off nicely....just not 100% on this These are the ones I have come across so far 1. $199 http://www.empireaero.com.au/pages.asp?ID=GTR+GARAGE 2. $385 http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/Parts-Shop/n1-type-rear-boot-lip-spoiler-for-skyline-r32-gtr-960.aspx I thought Just Jap did one also but can't see it on there website...? Has anyone got any comments/feedback on the ones above or any other suggestions.....I am really after a full carbon item not just the carbon overlay junk Cheers
  9. May I suggest we look at making the departure time earlier.... I realise there will be people travelling to Petrie, myself included, but the roads are much more enjoyable with less traffic/cars I find with anything, the earlier you do it the better it is overall!! Could we vote/discuss meeting at 7am for a 730am departure?
  10. Can't wait for week to be over Gonna be some serious GTR'n on the wkend
  11. Cheers Mick. Haha yeah no worries, it's a Garage Defend item from Japan. That one is the inner but I have replaced the outer as well, along with every other piece of trim/rubber! Sorry but don't have part number at hand anymore...can someone with Nissan FAST help out? Cheers for feedback re weight dist. as well
  12. Hi All Fkn Whiteline bushes giving me the shiiiiiittttttttsssssssssss!!!!!!!!!! Anyone using their adj. upper arm bush kit? (32R) Other news, found a cool bit of road to cruise on Sat. Up near Peachester
  13. Yeah spoke to Gary before we pulled them out to get his thoughts Might be faulty set
  14. Finally popping wheelies lol! Car going onto scales to get a base and see how everything was sitting. Numbers came out as follows: TOTAL WEIGHT (with driver 76 kg + approx. 70 L fuel = approx. 54 kg) 3,465 lb = 1,571 kg CURB WEIGHT (less driver & fuel) 1,441 kg CORNER WEIGHTS (WITH DRIVER) LF = 980 lb RF = 1017 lb LR = 710 lb RR = 757 lb PERCENTAGES (WITH DRIVER) FRONT = 57.63 % REAR = 42.33% LEFT WEIGHT = 48.77 % CROSS WEIGHT = 49.84 % Overall pretty happy with how numbers turned out! These were the numbers as the car sat with no adjustments needed as well. Would of preferred it was lighter but it is what is now. Happy to hear thoughts on these or even better if you have numbers to compare?!! Next up was wheel alignment: All went pretty smoothly. Got it set up for a comfortable street ride that is easy on the tyres. There was a problem with the front upper arms. More to the point with the brand new Whiteline bush kits for these.... With everything all tightened up there is a noticeable amount of slop in the bushes where the upper arms bolt up to the body. So much so that the camber could not be reliably measured/adjusted. My mechanic got a chance to pull them off the car yesterday and straight away noticed that the problem is a design fault with the Whiteline bushes, I believe it seems to be the metal pin that sits inside is to short so when tighted up the outer bushes can't 'crush' onto it. Has anyone else experienced this issue? All the other Whiteline gear has been fine so far...it just seems to be these upper arm bushing kits... Any feedback/thoughts/experience would be appreciated
  15. Perhaps basking in 600+ HP????? Awwwwwwwwwwwwww yehhhhhhh
  16. Morning Hope you get yours back today Scott Mechanic is working on mine today, sorting front upper arms issue and spherical bearing problem with one of the strut tops. Also fresh transfer case oil going in and some genuine Nissan coolant now nothing is leaking! Random question but has anyone purchase black plastic pop rivets before??
  17. Cheers Steven Thanks again mate, hoping to get some professional shots done someday soon! Starting to forget what has happened over the last few weeks so better get something up or will never happen! Hopefully one of the last lot Nissan orders came a while ago New wiper arms with PIAA blades fitted up Door trims back off to fit up the new interior window trim pieces And forgot to get the after shot but all pretty boring stuff really, just finishing off the details! Next up got the new rear quarter glass in (old glass was temp fitted) along with the new door opening trim that screws up to the body (again had to remove the old ones out along with the rubbers, a delicate job!!) Also removed the Nismo option 3 piece body kit and got it fitted up properly with all new Nissan OEM clips/scrivets/screws etc and some quality 3M VHB double sided tape. Will get photos up of the finished product just forgot at the time Have also had the car back to paint shop for final detailing, had it corner weighted/wheel alignment done and new window tinting as been done. Will get details up soon... One of the last things to do is fit up the original badges....can you anyone help me out with this? I am chasing a car in original paint with ALL original badges so I can put mine side by side and measure up the placement of the badges accurately. Would be greatly appreciated. Cheers
