  1. Evo Oz or if you need stuff from the UK, let me know as MLR is the main one there. Evo FTW www.evolutionoz.net On second thoughts, don't even go that far. Go to Jeff Beaumont at Techsport in Bayswater (3 Power Rd) who has an Aladdin's cave of spares. Best Evo guy around. 03 9720 9300 and tell him Alan sent you with the blue 7 and grey 8 MR FQ400.
  2. Exactly the response I was going to type. Most people will question decisions they have made with careers especially during the troughs. I would be doing everything in your power to complete that CPA as having it sets you above the book keepers and gives you a leg up anywhere in the globe. Good luck in what you decide but the last thing you want is in 2-3 years time when the decision you make now to possibly change path, restricts your options down the track.
  3. You want 4 roof spoilers? You can put the requests in the same thread to save starting 4.
  4. Will have to login and check a few things on Monday after daylight savings but other than that, off until Tues. Been for a mountain bike ride already today and about to have some lunch. CPA - Good to get and will open a lot of doors. Hard work now pays dividends in a very short space of time
  5. Sounds like you need someone to show you where the good roads are! Freeways are amongst the best in the world, quality, sealed and tolerance of the law enforcement officers. Point to point cameras are minimal as are average speed cameras so you just need to know where they are, like here. Bus lanes, those I can live with, that is why there is the tube in London. All that said, quality of life is far better down under
  6. R34PER BP Bayside Gateway on Saturday. Tidy car.
  7. Don't think he is talking about tax..... Freedom to just "drive" in the UK is far greater which I believe is what he is referring to. But, he doesn't like it here and doesn't live here. Would be worse if he lived here and harped on about it. I live here and accept what comes with it.

    Dt Panels.

Hey Vu - do you still have the pink wheeled Evo
  9. Great work on the 32R Scotty and Vadg! That looks superb and have been following the progress pics on facebook. Agree with Adz r.e. the Delorean
  10. ^^ I do that at the City Road one, near the corner of Ingles St (opposite 7/11) that Will mentions. However, I get away with it at 7am on a Sunday morning. Have noticed a general trend is more inner city ones seem to restrict sponge and bucket use but slightly further out seem to leave it more to discretion if there is no queue.
  11. 1990 should be a good year! I will be there to say hello. See you there
  12. The tow vehicle wouldn't be for him to trailer the GTST up there?
  13. Ones on the Hume are Shell at Donnybrook and BP at Wallan (newish and the second of the 2). There is a BP at Somerton, Cooper St but that is off the main drag but can be seen from the highway.
  14. wow - Just to put the claims into perspective! http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/a-beauty-...o-1225837959592 $8M worth of stock at FTG Toyota!
  15. Welcome and enjoy Australia, lots more going for it than old blighty. Nice car, join the club now and partake in some motorsport when it arrives. Just reminded myself - David if you read this, renewal will be done on Monday.
  16. They get a very good rap down there, so much so we took our car there for a quote. The only reason they didn't get the work was due to the time they needed the car for as they were so booked up. Only heard good reports about them.
  17. Exactly right, they were indeed not built for corners. A few on ramp sprints but that was about it. To be honest was more about having a drop top for that nostalgic drive than anything else. Just book flights 1 hour ago for this years trip, 3 weeks again but taking in Canada this time so will see what we can find for that.
  18. A picture of the convertible barge we hired in Las Vegas through to LA. Was about 3.5 hours drive. Rest of the pics are on my facebook.
  19. What is the wording on the notice out of interest?
  20. We drove LA - San Fran (diverted through Big Sur National Park and the army training camp due to wild fires part way through the journey), flew to NYC and drove from there to Washington and onto Wilmington in NC. Wilmington over to Atlanta, GA. Flew Atlanta to Vegas and drove Vegas to LA. Was over 2500 miles driving in 4 hire cars but 3 Hyundais and 1 mustang so nothing to write about vehicle wise really! This year, looking at driving LA to NYC, few things to do in upstate New York and over the border to Canada. Around New England area and fly back via San Fran again. There are a few exotic hire car companies in Vegas but sounds similar to the Veyron someone has already mentioned.
  21. We went to book the yellow corvette to drive from Vegas to LA and even changed the departure date from Vegas to try and get one on standby as they book out so far in advance. This was July 08. Had to settle for a drop top Mustang that at 80mph coming into LA around the sweeping twisties felt like a barge. Was fun but couldnt get the top down without putting all the luggage in the back seat! Pic here somewhere, will dig it out. When are you heading over? We will be passing through in Aug one way and Sept the other
  22. Was the pic in your avatar taken shortly before the cops arrived or was that as they told you to expect something in the mail? Off P's is not an issue as someone else has said. On P's, I have seen nothing either from a few years back but given that the the P plate legislation has been tightened with different colour P's etc now in the past 2 ish years, it wouldnt surprise me if something has snuck in. Standing next to it, would be an interesting to see how they approach it. FYI - I wouldn't admit anything on the forums.
  23. Sheeesh another thread on this but nothing else on tonight so will type a reply.... Firstly, condolences to the familes of those involved, this is very tragic and not a knock at the door I would like. This has been covered after every multiple fatality, particularly where young lives are lost. Advanced driver training, isn't the answer and as someone else has said, it makes people think they are "it" on the road (males at least). Some easier solutions but not still not easy by any accounts: 1. Teach the learner driver to drive (not a parent clocking 120 hours with their kid). As some longer serving members on here will know, I was taught in the UK where a 40% first time pass rate is the max. I didn't pass first time and am not ashamed. Driver instructors need to be trained to a high standard who subsequently pass that on to their students. All up I had 35 hours but they were 35 better than a lot of tutors I see on the road via parents. 2. Make insurance mandatory (like in the UK), this gives a real value to cars, mobility, life and the PRIVELIGE of driving. For me to drive a car that was a mere 1.6i, it cost me more to insure than buy the car. Hence fast cars with young drivers are low and limited to soccer players. 3. No one seems to understand, a 3.6 car is a big engine for a first car! I had a 1 litre, 4 speed car that was essentially nothing more than a lawn mower! To hit 110 kph in that took an eternity. Anyway, rant over and hopefully some day someone with the power to make a decision will act on at least one of the points above. I understand jobs being protected/industry protection but you can't have your cake and eat it.
  24. Fantastic "article" - BTW year is 2010. Enjoyed reading this thread, has been a worthwhile 15 mins, topped off with the article. Definate nomination for thread and post of the year
  25. The only way I know you can potentially do it is to get a licence in another state at the same time as you have your Vic one and have them applied to that. e.g. At uni in QLD, get a QLD licence and get caught in QLD, apply points to QLD licence, which leaves your Vic one clean. They have to allocate to a licence from my experience. The only thing I have seen them reneg on is from a fixed camera and is the fine portion if you are living overseas (e.g. caught speeding with a fixed camera while back in Oz on holiday from overseas. They still want a licence to allocate points to but certainly a couple of years back didnt pursue the $$)
