  1. Fantastic photos and this looks to have been a great cruise. Thanks for posting the pics and the organisation in a cruise alone let alone accomodation and fine food is hard enough. Superb effort Hamish and thanks Niroj for the pics.
  2. Was good to see your driving yesterday, have heard a lot about it and lived up to it, very interested to see your times. Next time you are in the city, let us know mate. I have always enjoyed the SAU DECA's and have been along to another couple of club's DECA's as a specatator of which SAU definately urinates all over! I do need to sort another car as the mini does strugle on the short courses. Watch this space
  3. Was a great day, really enjoyed being back up there. Albeit watching but was good to catchup with everyone. Hope last night was fun! Now what to do going forward.............
  4. Happy Birthday Bec. See you soon
  5. Whilst I don't think I drove this, I was lucky enough to go on at least one skidpan session with you and it was ace. Is always a sad time selling fun cars and the sadness only grows, the longer you own it for. Sad part now is buying something else down the track, when you have something ace as a benchmark, nothing quite lives up to it
  6. OK, after the outcome from today will update. Unfair dismissal case, clear cut, no warnings etc. Friends in a few HR depts confirmed the legislation. Called the above company who also confirmed. Dropped all the details into Fair Work Australia. They confirmed clear cut case. Conciliation meeting organised. 1 x person who has nothing to lose and understands the case (friend) and victim + 1 x arrogant previous employer + FWA = new arsehole torn, FWA in agreeance and compensation paid. There is a free website for assistance if required http://www.jobwatch.org.au/
  7. GOR, Inverloch, anywhere near the sea with a few twisties thrown in
  8. AMI Project and work on the design of the mobile computing solution being used to roll the meters out. For those who don't know, Advanced Metering Infrastructure and is the new meters mandated for Victoria by the end of 2013.
  9. Thursday is better for me. Wed would be a maybe depending on airport pickup time.
  10. I thought this was going to be about the Taco Bill "13 shot" drink that has come into the spotlight over the last couple of days, was an article in the Herald Sun about it on Thursday. As it is about the Gala Ball, Adz has a good point
  11. Happy Birthday Leewang. Hope Macau is going well......

  15. Hope it isn't for you or your wife mate. There was a guy that came into my work who deals around employment law and cases (we were all subject to a 1.5 hour course). Will get his details tomorrow and let you know. This guy has his own business and also a Private Investigation business around unfair employment. Will let you know tomorrow, if I don't post up here shoot me an SMS.
  16. Quids in if you bought in Nov. No NAB shares but mortgage for the next few days is with the clowns.
  17. The sad part and I mean really sad is I flew back out of London on the same morning you 3 met up as Snows knows! Of all the days in the year, I fly out at 12pm and you all go drinking that evening. My trip (with Nicole) while not quite so heavilly car orientated went like this: Friday night (midnght) - flight to Singapore 6 hours at Singapore Arrival at Heathrow Saturday evening UK time (3am Melb) Tube to Kingscross (read 2 hours with delays) Arrival at hotel after 3 hurdles - 10.45pm 6am wake up for Eurostar to Paris Sunday and Sunday night in Paris watching final day of Tour De France Monday morning 9am back to London 11am London Cross London on the tube 1.30pm after 3 trains back in my home town Monday afternoon, Tuesday, Wednesday with my parents Thursday lunch fly out back to Singapore Friday morning arrive in Singapore 24 hours in Singapore for some drinking and shopping (first me, latter Nicole) Saturday evening land in Melbourne No jetlag, back to work on Monda Pics on facebook or will post a few up once the quote ticks over on Sunday. Gutted I missed you all after being so close but always later in the year, next year.
  18. Found this on another forum and thought it would be a good post. No one seems to have put it up yet on here from a quick search. New Evo mag out in the UK has filmed 2 parts of the GTR vs Veyron. They also have a number of other clips down the right side including the Alpina B7. http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetevovideo...nissan_gtr.html http://www.evo.co.uk/videos/planetevovideo...nissan_gtr.html This is an old airstrip used as a proving ground by many car clubs, magazines and also tv shows. Enjoy
  19. I can vouch for SSV, agree with Ash that the price is probably a bit on the high side but I have not heard a bad report from them. They are an Aussie family run business (father and 2 sons) who delivered exactly what they promised. I bought my Evo from them and was very impressed with the service and attention to detail. Importing is definately worth considering though, several forum members are in that game and can assist.
  20. We had our new place treated for pests about 3 weeks ago and the guy said this time of year isn't the best for doing it to be 100% effective. He said most pests are active in Spring and through the summer months. We insisted on having the place treated as the previous owner had cats so he has offered to come back mid-late spring if we find an increase in pests and will treat it again as his reputation is to rid the things. Is there substance to his statement? Good offer for the club, would be good to see more like that outside of cars too as we are a large enough group of people to have a variety of skills
  21. Funky is about right on this. My logic: It comes down to the area, the time, how you drive and how the car looks/sounds. I used to drive a fairly stock looking Evo VII every day (35,000kms in a year) and passed more Police than I can remember. A few looked but no one ever pulled me up. It was modified but nothing obscene (exhaust, AVCR, springs), also had a very dark tint from Japan. I hardly ever drove the car at night as I was driving all day and the last thing I wanted to do of an evening was get back in it! I then got a grey 8MR which was extensively modified and again wasn't pulled over as it was driven only short distances during the week in the daytime. The guy that purchased it from me only drives it weekends but was unlucky enough after 3 weeks of ownership to be pulled over leaving a servo and defected. That was a case of the wrong place, wrong time sadly. If you have a massively modified car, drive it through areas we all know to keep away from and draw attention to yourself, odds are you will be pulled over. Keep it sensible if you plan on everyday use or spend big on it for limited kms at weekends/track days. All about the risk ratio
