  1. Thanks mate, Will be posting things I do to this car bit by bit. She is in good shape, just needs that little bit of extra bits and pieces but its only cosmetics no rush I guess. Will be sure to pop down the next SAU meet
  2. I was in the same shoes and I just came back to a GTR as well. Probably should start one of these threads as well haha - keep us updated
  3. Slight rattle post ignition being off on mine as well (Nismo twinplate)
  4. Hi all, Trying to locate a car alarm shop that people have used before to re-code some spare alarm keys. I have 3 overall but only one is coded does anybody know a place in VIC that can do that? Tried to search the forums but nothing came up for VIC Cheers
  5. 'll take some more photos so people understand what I'm talking about. Wonder if there are any Nissan Dealerships which can order the parts for you? hmm Just a quick note I've searched everywhere on the forums and there is no mention of the part for the 34Gtr, just the 32 as they have a clip on. Where as the 34 has screws that hold the bracket up together with the plasic.
  6. Thanks Odium, Im trying to fix her up slowly bit by bit. Just need to make sure that this is the correct part as that came up at AUD434 which is quite pricey. Also I think that is just the front retainer - there is also the rear. Any chance somebody knows what the actual rubber piece number is?
  7. So the part is called the "Weather Strip Retainer". I believe this is the part, however there are two and I'm not sure if it just the metal bracket, or do you get the metal bracket and the black seal on top: http://www.rhdjapan.com/nissan-oem-left-side-weather-strip-retainer-r34-2dr.html http://www.rhdjapan.com/nissan-oem-right-side-weather-strip-retainer-r34-2dr.html The biggest problem I have is that I can't see what actually comes with that item. Does anybody have a company where they can order their oem parts from?
  8. Ah ok, would you have any idea what that part is called? Spot on on the plates haha
  9. Hi all, Looking to buy some side-skirts and rear pods (pref bayside blue). Pick up from Melb but willing to pay for freight if needed. Cheers *pic for reference
  10. and yea she is very dirty, been very windy here and didnt have a chance to wash her properly Need to invest in a car cover
  11. Sorry for the late response, here are the pics: http://s30.postimg.org/rumydzknl/image.jpg http://s17.postimg.org/cs19q8ylb/image.jpg I remember seeing a thread about this but after hours of searching I can't find it. I'm presuming its safe as any water that comes through will run down by the doors? But still not sure - any tips would help out. Car is going great, I guess Ill start a thread and keep people updated with the small things I do. But first things first http://s1.postimg.org/jlbkd2ykf/12096056_10153245688884779_8577928728296194857_n.jpg the missis really knows me haha :rofl2:
  12. When I get home ill take a photo for you to have a look. The window seals are fine and window goes up. This is where the window seal connects to the roof of the car (think thats where the window deflector should come in) With 356kw at all fours thats plenty for a while to come, don't think she will be needing anything more haha
  13. Update: RACV Classic: $930pa (Excess $500, for an agreed value of $51,000) Very happy with that
  14. To me they go crazy, full boost is as 4k rpm, they are running just past 17psi. Engine isn't built but does have cams - it also helps that Racepace has been servicing it since it was imported (2008). Well today was first time I took it to red line, safe to say legs were shaking for hours later because of the adrenalin haha. One thing im trying to figure out is the space between the window seal (think thats where the window deflector goes?) there is a gap is that normal and safe if its raining? Been trying to search the forums with no luck Yea when i picked up the car from Racepace it has potential to do a lot more, just needs a tune. But think this is plenty for many months to come haha
  15. Haha good eyes - yep thats the same one. Lucky for me Dan was happy to help out and also pass on this car Car is amazing, it has all the mods I wanted (Power FC, HKS25/30's, tomei downpipes, 19" te37' etc...) the only thing what is left are cosmetics (but they will come in due time). Each time I drive it im just smiling away like im having a stroke haha - such a joy thing to take out. With 356kw at the wheels its probably the fastest car I've ever driven - just need to hit the track to test it out. I just need to get used to the staring, pointing and people taking pictures of the car - apart from that no complaints! Tnx again Dan - like I said beer on me
  16. What made my choice a lot easier is the fact that I'll be keeping this one for a very very long time.....I probably wont even sell it if I'm honest. I can see why you are at the cross roads though especially if you want to upgrade/change in the future so the 34's are pricey. You definitely know a lot about cars - now just a matter of finding something you like and going for it good luck in the search
  17. Kinda funny as I was going through the exact same thing few months ago... I've had 31, 32, 33 and 34 Skylines (non were GTR's). Followed by 3 series BMW, Audi A4(x3) Augi A6......what was missing was the weekend car or the boy toy if you will. I skipped pass the STI as for me they have nothing else past 3rd gear so my choices were Evo X, 33 or 34 GTR. What made my choice a lot easier was thinking 6-12+month from now would buying a GTR be worth it and would I be happy with it. Knowing its a strong build and looked after car that will be driven on weekends and potential some track days the choice was easy. TL;DR Buy the car you want and will enjoy, as any can be made for track Also Dan thanks for putting those details through deposit is made just waiting for the RWC which is happening tomorrow!
  18. Well I ended up buying a blue 34gtr vspec with genuine 67,000 on the clock. I know in a few months time getting an evo would have eaten me alive. So ill be seeing some of you at these meets shortly
  19. I guess it all depends on what you find, but as Terry said the SAU members who sell their cars do look after their cars and are more genuine when it comes to these things. I was looking to import one myself however I really wanted to see the car in flesh. I've found the car and I just put a deposit on a 2000 34-Vspec, which has done 67,000 (auction sheet 3.5 and de-reg cert - proving the kms) Nice mods and has been going to RacePace since 2008 for mods and servicing. Just a matter of finding the right one - take your time and I'm sure you can find something local.
  20. Hi bud, I recently put a deposit down on a r34 Gtr Vspec early 2000 model. It has 68,000 on the clock (with the auction papers and de-registration certificate which validate the numbers). She has some nice mods listed as well. Members of this forum do help out a lot as they can give you their past experiences and what to look out for. However your best bet is to go to a reputable mechanic to do a check as they will give you their honest opinion of the matter. My car in question has been going to Racepace since it was imported (2008) and im going this thursday for a RWC and a final inspection before funds are paid. The car you are looking has had some front repairs - if I were you I would move on. TL;DR Find the car you want, get as much information as you can, visit a GTR specialist and get their thoughts, then get a SAU membership
  21. Update: RACV: $1,956 p.a Full Com. with $1,500 as excess with a value of $31,330 for a 34GTR RACV Veteran Vin Classic: $900 as $1,000 excess with a value of $52,000 for a 34GTR Shanons: Wont insure if you have had 5 infringements in the last 5 years (even if they were 1pt each) Just Car: $2,456 Full Com. with $1,500 as excess with a value of $45,000 for a 34GTR Lumley: $2,0444 Full Com. with $1,000 excess value of $55,000 I have a question in regards to the modifications to the cars. If you were to list all these mods to the insurer After-market Turbos/Apexi PFC/Injectors/Fuel Pump/Oil Catch Can/Oil Cooler/Suspension/Rims/Exhaust does the insurance still hold if they said "Is the car roadworthy", or would I need to get an engineers cert? (for the bold parts?) I've read and searched the forums but I wasn't able to find an answer, thought this would be appropriate to ask here.
  22. Just quickly I was in touch with the seller about 2 weeks ago in regards to the car. He told me that he is going on a two week holiday in europe - im sure he will be back soon and will reply to all the messages. Was interested in this car greatly until I decided to get a 34.
