Well I have looked using the Search button but cant seem to find what im looking for.

I have Just installed a new turbo onto my car but it seemed to do this on the old turbo.

I am boosting 1Bar and I could drive hard and then all of a Sudden it will just stop and it hurts your head when it does :D

another thing is when im boosting sometimes it seems to struggle, A friend of mine said when he was following me it had some sort of whiteish smoke comming out of the back when it was doing it.

Also where is the oil sencer placed as my gauge is playing up.

Put it back on standard boost and it won't do that.

Its the way the standard ecu is mapped. So that when the ecu measures more air flow then standard you go onto a higher load point that is mapped with lots of fuel and no ignitition timing.

Only real way around it is to go buy a PowerFC if you want more then standard boost.

The oil pressure sender is on the oil-water cooler behind the oil filter on the engine block. It has a yellow plug on it generally.

this man is right on the money.

the oil gauge playing up is common problem in the r32's.. I still never found out if it was the sender or the gauge itself, but don't freak if it says you have zero oil pressure.

Still gives me the $H!ts though!

as for the boost, 1 bar is roughly 14.5 psi. The computer wont like it, the intercooler probably wont, and neither will the engine. 12 psi should be a more appropriate figure.

and as stated above, an ecu upgrade should be a priority.

I also suggest a front/dump, high flow cat, and an intercooler.

Well I guess I will have to get a Power FC then

and intercooler isnt a biggy yet. Big loads of power isnt what im after anyway, i just want to to run right.

Well everything seems to be fine at 14.5PSI

The engine is more then able to take that.

I guess I need to save up hard to get that power FC and see how she goes then

You'll also need:

- Fuel pump

- Injectors

- Fuel pressure regulator

You may be able to find someone that can retune the std ecu and eliminate the boost/fuel/speed cuts.

dude! I'd be getting a FMIC before anything.... The standard intercooler is definately not able to cope with 14.5psi!

Get a FMIC, but not a huge 600x300x75 one... Get like a second hand GTR one or something.

Will work out perfect.

hope this helps:

ChinaCopy Cooler 300x600x76 = $250

Piping = $600

Nismo FuelPump = $300-$400

Nismo Injectors 450cc = $600-$700

Nismo FRP = $160

PFC = $1000 + $400 to $450 for tuning or Hyperdrive will retune your stock ecu with a lumpy rom for around $800

maybe a clutch too $800-$900

ohh and how are you controlling boost?

ohh yes and your getting fuel-cut from ur ecu as everyone has said :P

question for you do you know what ur hybird turbo is rated at? as i would be interested to know if ur pushing around the 230-250rwhp without a fmic and if its pinging

Well I have fixed some of my Probs my Bov was too loose and now she seems to be heaps better, just every now and then I get some fuel cut but she lets loose again and fine. But when I back off she still is over fueling I guess thats where a tune will come in handy

The Turbo is rated at 500+HP and 25PSI+

I ant pushing those limits I have no reason too.

    • Hey all. Looking for all of the carpeted trunk trim for my 95 GTST coupe. I’m having a hard time finding the pieces I need on US or Japanese sites/auctions and was hoping someone has a clean set stashed away somewhere?
    • New aerial is aerialing well....trips into Goulburn are not losing the ABC classic radio signal Also......I've been procrastinating about wheels for the MX5, the car doesn't need any more tyre, I just "want" different wheels, so I went looking for something that legally fits the new Pilot Sports +1 size 215/45 17 that I'm currently running on the 17x7 OEM wheels (stock size is 205/45 17), not a silver, and not a black, ended up with gloss bronze Konig Dekagrams in 17x8 +40 which fit without the need for rolling the guards, whilst larger than the OEM wheels they are also lighter than the OEM wheels, and at just under $1300 for the set I'm more than happy with the price I seen a set of matt black Deka's on a MX5 when I was at MX5 Mania, same wheel size, same tyre size, sat really nice, and not stretched enough to look aids, although the 215/45 17 is the smallest that you can legally fit Just need to find some good black wheel nuts to suit
    • So I decided that I wasn't happy with how I originally wrapped the loom with fleece tape. I didn't factor in the new intake manifold/plenum so it always sat a bit funny. Yep, I decided to unwrap it and redo how the wires would branch out. Added in a light twist too, here's hoping I didn't snap any 30 year old wiring because FML if I did. Took a few more photos of the shit box too, needed it for Enthusiast Insurance as they wanted photos to justify why my agreed value was above market by a fair amount.
    • if wanting reliability and that level of performance a dry sump is mandatory for circuit stuff as you'll just be filling the head with oil. easy and reliable setup with potential for more later Hypergear bolt on turbo or a g30-660 with T3 rear housing .92 external gate mod to factory exhaust manifold with 45mm waste gate plazmaman/pwr intercooler oil cooler 1200cc injectors 460 TI/walbro with upgrade relay and wiring/pwm control turbosmart fuel reg Link g4x plug in ecu with knock, oil, fuel pressure sensors, 3 port mac valve, DBW conversion Quality clutch kit- NPC is what I've used for a long time READ THE WHOLE OIL CONTROL THREAD Could do major service while there and maybe headgasket, studs and valve springs. as soon as you whack a massive turbo and short runner intake on a street car they are useless and not practical the above will be a fun and reliable 400-430hp on E85 all day with correct maintenance and mechanical sympathy.
