Well since Oran has been cancelled:mad:, how about a drive down to Wakefield Raceway.

For $80 (+$30 for those without a licence) we can take our pick of the the following dates:

- Thu 20th Feb, Open Practice/No Speed Limit Day - Cars Only

- Fri 28th Feb, Open Practice/No Speed Limit Day - Cars Only

- Tue 4th March, Open Practice/No Speed Limit Day - Cars Only

OR my pick :

- Sat 8th March, No Speed Limit Day - Street Cars Only,

I suspect the weekend is best as many of us work, also there wont be any formula cars or GTP cars to worry about, only street cars.

Also being 4 weeks away gives us a little more time to confirm roll call. I will call Wakefield middle of next week to confirm calender is unchanged from that on their website, and confirm $80 for weekends as well

For those that havent been to a Wakefield open day before, they are a great opportunity to get plenty of track time. 20 minute sessions are run all day for several classes/groups of cars based on speed and experience.

First timers should have no concerns driving around Wakefield. Speeds arent too daunitng and its a fun little track. That said you are still travelling at increased speeds so be sure car is checked, and you have the usual long sleeve shirt, pants and an approved helmet.

Helmets can be hired on the day for $20, requiring a $50 deposit. Those who dont have a Wakefield licence or need to renew last years remember to bring an additional $30

When i call mid week to confirm the day is still as per their website i will enquire about passengers and the like, as from memory only time another is allowed in vehcile is if either occupant is being tutored :starwars:

I just hope you know that Wakefield hold a weekend open day once in a blue moon, and every man and his dog heads down there for these open days.

I hope you guys like lining up :P

every man and his dog heads down there for these open days.

The last Saturday i went to at Wakefiled there was probably only 20 road cars, then there was about another 15 formula style & GTP cars.

Ill concede that the weekdays are the best for having the track to yourslef, but im not so sure every open day that falls on a weekend gets packed to the rafters. Other then this particular Saturday ive really only been to weekday open days.

Hmmmmm, not me

I'm not keen on lining up either... If I had it my way (and was rich enough) I would pay the $10,000 hire fee for a track and take you all along... but that aint gonna happen unless I win the lottery!

I'll be going down that day for sure.

I've got a 6 hour race there the weekend after, so I may be hiring a car for practice.....anyone got an underpowered fwd they want to loan me? :P

Also, wakefield is only 2,500ish to hire :D

20 of us @ $125 each, we can hire the whole track! (something to think about!)

i am only 50% - i may or may not have a car ... i might just ride with brendan (if thats cool?) ..

NEED SOME TIME ON THE TRACK!

So, who's coming down on the 8th.

Me and perhaps 2 others are coming down with the skyline and a suzuki swift to thrash, anyone else in, and when / where should we meet for the cruise down?

    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?

    • Hello!  i just finished manual swaping my r34 skyline with a r33 rb20de box(RB71C)box  When the car is running it squeaks crazy loud and it was smoking from the gearbox area. The gearbox is fine it was tested. The clutch slave cylinder seems like it doesn't fully releases the clutch. I want to ask if this noise is from the throw out bearing or could it be the clutch assembly or disk att.xFliq87Gzw6kImKBVqDebXkj0fBqymk0JaYeP3_3SlM.mp4
