Damn that looks bad, how did she reverse it so hard?? :) Yeah good luck with the insurance, I hope you had her down as a driver. Good luck with getting the car & house fixed. :)

Thanx for the kind words guys. She wasnt reversing. She was turning right onto willmott dve in rockingham. (not going to fast or anything, witness has testified this) road was greasy and car hit some loose shit. Tail has comeout. She has panicked and hit the wrong pedals. Car has spun a few times and slid backwards up the persons front lawn into thier carport.

Insurance has said that they will cover it. My excess is gonna be $1400 and if it is written off i get first dibs on the wreck. All my mods are covered too which is handy.

That looks bad, Just glad everyone is Ok.

It is a sad thing to say, but cars can be replaced...... I would hate it to happen to me, but as long as everyone is safe, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

Thank goddness for the insurance company covering it

All the best

Mike

Whoa dude!!! thats some nice bingle right there. If nobody is hurt all you can really do is sit back, scratch your head and laugh eh. Make sure u take bulk photos so you can pull em out at the wedding and make some "thick and thin" comment :( I see bully beat the fire truck there.

Hope it works out for you mate. The "its just a car" thing may not be working for you right now but look back on it in a while and you will laugh.

Maybe she needs a minor "how not to freak out while going sideways" course.

    • R34DE as in R34 with an RB25DE? So did you get this? Or you planning to?  I'm not really sure what you're saying.
    • Possibly avoid using a Cometic one unless the deck/head surface are perfectly flat. I did have a look just then and forgiving gaskets such as Tomei or Nitto don't exist for the FJ20, however the Bar-Tek or Kameari ones look good and might do the trick.
    • Because pipe threads for pipe things. M threads for bolt things. Throw some teflon sealant onto it and dust your hands off knowing you did the right thing, instead of going twice around the block to achieve a result using the wrong things. Of course, all of these solutions are ignoring the fact that the minimum thread pitch we're talking about here is 1.25mm, with the 1/4" in NPT or BPS being out around 1.4mm. You will need to know that the boss you're tapping has enough thickness for at least a few threads. That's one of the reasons that 1/8" is commonly used - because the pitch is <1mm. And why would you look to use 1/4" NPT in a BSP country anyway? Ugh.
