Schumi will 100% win the race... he has absolutely nothing to loose, but its still Alonso's crown

Im big enough to give him the race win as his farewell... but theres no way i want Ferrari winning anything more at anytime for any reason in any way

i think old beer baron may shed a tear if alonso wins the championship. i just dont think i can stand to see him do another stupid arse victory celebration. i hope someone does crack it and stab him in the marble bag. his attempts to win the crowd are pathetic. shcuey did it with win, after win after win. and he never seemed to give a f*ck if anyone liked him or not. alonso on the other hand seems to care a lot.

I thought Alonso had won as many GP's as MS this year anyway. Aside from scoring ten more points.

speaking of shitty little statistics... i came across this little gem

Who's The Worthy World Champion?

not really relevant but a good read

There is a novel thought. Taste Police. Maybe Bernie & Max could get that organised. I would be concerned for the entire McLaren pit crew however. Black leather & a German connection do not a happy combination make.....

Actually, on that basis the first McLaren Mercedes would have to be burned at the stake. That horrible wing on top the air box & the pointy nose. That's before they built the fat bastard version for Nigel. ;)

Dont get me started on poor taste...

you could start a whole new thread on some of the designs they used to pump out 20-30 years ago

But im sure BMW's areo horns used in the French GP this year would still rank in the top three "Worst things bolted to an F1 car" of all time... i hope they never live that one down

Also the airboxes from the 94 season with holes punched through them...

Maybe some of the less successful ground effects cars from 1980 or there abouts.

The all time winner surely must be a thing from the 1972 Indy 500 called a Parnelli-Offenhauser VPJ-1. It had these wierd dihedral wings stuck beside the driver. You porbably won't find pictures of it on the net, but there is a photo of the thing in the current Motorsport magazine (Vol 82, number 9). The one with the Can Am McLaren on the front & the write up about the 956 Porsche. Dammit I want a McLaren Eagle M6B for Christmas.

This is my top five...

Coming in finth we have the 2005 BMW, as stated that was debuted at France was just stupid as well as dangerous

Fourth, as you pointed out would be the Tyrrell "X-wing" fighter... did it have a purpose?

Third, for one reason or another is this... dont know what is is... its just ugly

Second would have to be the Brabham BT26A... enough said

Montjuich-69-Brabham.jpg

First, in my opinion, would have to be the the Ensign that raced at Interlagos in 1979... what the hell was that?

Nice work, but I think you are being a bit harsh on the strut winged Brabham. No car with such wings looked pretty & they all had them for a time.

Some of Gordon Murray's early creations with the wedge style front wings were pretty damn ugly too. Also the March (cant remember the model off the top of my head) with an oval front wing that looked like a tea tray...

Williams signs AT&T for title sponsor

20 October 2006

US Telecommunications Company AT&T will become WilliamsF1's title sponsor next season the team announced today. The team signed a multiyear deal with AT&T.

Frank Williams, the team principal of the AT&T WilliamsF1 Team said, "It is a great privilege for WilliamsF1 to be an ambassador for a brand of the global size, scale and reputation of AT&T. It is our firm commitment to represent their interests to the very best of our ability on the race track and assist with the communication of their service offer that we, too, will have the significant benefit of being able to utilise."

"Formula 1 provides a unique platform for a global brand like AT&T," said Mark Keiffer, AT&T chief marketing officer. "The shared values of AT&T and Williams — a dedication to innovation, speed, integrity and commitment to absolute excellence — are highly complementary. We expect that the relationship between Williams and AT&T will be a key global marketing platform for our enterprise division."

    • As far as I can tell I have everything properly set in the Haltech software for engine size, injector data, all sensors seem to be reporting proper numbers.  If I change any injector details it doesnt run right.    Changing the base map is having the biggest change in response, im not sure how people are saying it doesnt really matter.  I'm guessing under normal conditions the ECU is able to self adjust and keep everything smooth.   Right now my best performance is happening by lowering the base map just enough to where the ECU us doing short term cut of about 45% to reach the target Lambda of 14.7.  That way when I start putting load on it still has high enough fuel map to not be so lean.  After 2500 rpm I raised the base map to what would be really rich at no load, but still helps with the lean spots on load.  I figure I don't have much reason to be above 2500rpm with no load.  When watching other videos it seems their target is reached much faster than mine.  Mine takes forever to adjust and reach the target. My next few days will be spent making sure timing is good, it was running fine before doing the ECU and DBW swap, but want to verify.  I'll also probably swap in the new injectors I bought as well as a walbro 255 pump.
    • It would be different if the sealant hadn't started to peel up with gaps in the glue about ~6cm and bigger in some areas. I would much prefer not having to do the work take them off the car . However, the filler the owner put in the roof rack mount cavities has shrunk and begun to crack on the rail delete panels. I cant trust that to hold off moisture ingress especially where I live. Not only that but I have faded paint on as well as on either side of these panels, so they would need to come off to give the roofline a proper respray. My goal is to get in there and put a healthy amount of epoxy instead of panel filler/bog and potentially skin with carbon fiber. I have 2 spare rolls from an old motorcycle fairing project from a few years back and I think it'd be a nice touch on a black stag.  I've seen some threads where people replace their roof rack delete with a welded in sheet metal part. But has anyone re-worked the roof rails themselves? It seems like there is a lot of volume there to add in some threads and maybe a keyway for a quick(er) release roof rack system. Not afraid to mill something out if I have to. It would be cool to have a cross bar only setup. That way I can keep the sleek roofline that would accept a couple bolts to gain back that extra utility  3D print some snazzy covers to hide the threaded section to be thorough and keep things covered when not using the rack.
    • Probably not. A workshop grade scantool is my go to for proper Consult interrogation. Any workshop grade tool should do it. Just go to a workshop.
    • In my head it does make sense to be a fuel problem since that is what I touched when cleaning the system. When I was testing with the fuel pressure gauge, the pressure was constantly 2.5 bar with the FPR vacuum removed. When stalling, the pressure was going up to 3.0 bar (which is how it should be on ignition).
    • ECUtalk pages don't mention they support the ABS computer (consult port has more than one CAN), so you might just need a different scan tool. But, I would expect ABS is a different light to the brake warning/handbrake light, do you see an ABS light come on for a few seconds when you turn the key from ACC to IGN? But since you said: I'd have a look at the ABS sensors in the rear hubs to make sure they are not damaged, disconnected etc.
