SR32
No problem mitchy Thanks Liz, that's a great suggestion! I always mention it to friends and hadn't even considered it for myself. Off goes the resume. Do they have an aftermarket parts section? hahaha speaking of cars, could even try supercheap. Sneeza
Nat - go into your local Bunnings and ask to fill out an application form and hand it in with your resume. All the stores are always looking for people. There are also night fill roles available. Also there is HouseWorks in Joondalup - which is like an Ikea store. This is also owned by Bunnings, you could try there as well? mitchy_
im not really after anotherjob now, hah! i mentioned to my boss i was looking for one, and he said "why didnt you just ask for a pay rise?" i was on the 19yr old wage (80% of full adult), but becuase he thinks im worth it, and im now 3IC, im on full adult wage Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/104248-casual-job-wanted/#findComment-1937233 Share on other sites
damono
i thought it didnt matter what age you were when your an adult and work full time. Also.. if you work full time and get another job, isnt the tax something cronic like 49% ... it would barely make it worth it would it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/104248-casual-job-wanted/#findComment-1937350 Share on other sites
mitchy_
an adult is considered to be 21 years old for pay... go figure? up to ~$110/week its un-taxable, but then over thats its about %50 tax, yeah. damono
$110 for total incomes tho... from what i know, if you earn $600 a week full time, then $200 part time, you'd get taxed 30% or whatever on $490, then 40% on $200. hardly makes it worth it Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/104248-casual-job-wanted/#findComment-1937489 Share on other sites
SR32
Wtf...is tax really that much for people working 2 jobs?! Obviously if someone wants to work 2 jobs it's because they need more cash, not to fund the doll bludgers and govt head pay rises! > I'll look into it...otherwise its the mines for me. Mitchy- Well done, what a score! Wish it was that easy for me. damono
thats what I thought the deal was with tax, it hardly makes it worth it to get a 2nd job or do much overtime. No wonder people do cash in hand work etc... Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/104248-casual-job-wanted/#findComment-1939544 Share on other sites
Sneeza
Thats right - you can only claim the tax free threshold for one job. So youwill need to fill out a tax declaration form when you start a new job, if its your second job you can't tick the box to claim the threshold. Its illegal to claim it for more than one job. Your second job is then taxed at the full rate which is like 49% or something - and then it doesnt make it worth it in some cases.
