Anyone else seen it?

Im yet to go have a closer look, but Citroen of all places has a beautiful looking blue 350GT coupe for sale on the Pacific Highway at Artarmon.

I think I will be going by on the weekend to take it for a drive :)

My mate picked up a V35 coupe today. Unreal car to drive. Very refined, the transmission is better than an S2000 in my opinion. The brembos pull its up great as well. If your after something with a bit of luxury but still a sporty drive then this is definatly a car worth looking at. Its definatly light years ahead of the R34 GTT although not necessarily more fun. I really cant believe that nissan hasnt sold the V35 here in Aus as like a premium coupe to go against the Monaro and RX8 and the like? :O

They already have the 350Z for that!

Too much overlap in market if there was a V35 as well.

Saw it tonight. Didn't look too bad at all, but I much prefer the white one that was at the BBQ cruise. The colour didn't do it for me.

I might roll up tomorrow morning and see if I can wrangle a test drive.

Yeah, the V35 coupe and the Z33 are too close in niche to survive in a market as small as Australia's.

The only way you could do it would be to bring it in as an Infiniti G35 as a part of an Infiniti launch (which Nissan Australia is considering), spec it up both in terms of interior and powertrain, and then sell it well above the Z's price.

Maybe get its value up to $85K+ (which is well above the $70K for the top-spec Z33, and maybe try dropping the Z down to a $55K base instead of $60K) to position it against the BMW 330i, Mercedes CLK350, etc (obviously it has to be cheaper since its not Euro). Full leather interior and electric options, so it competes in comfort. With the 35th Anniversary engine it'll make more power than the Euros already, but I'd like to see at least a Nismo catback to give it a decent advantage if not a full exhaust and a mild cam upgrade.

Use the Z33 as the low-end "sports" car and keep it in RX-8 territory, and the V35 as the luxury GT coupe to run against the Euros.

Or just scrap the 350Z completely. Its not like there's any other 2 seater in its price range, and having rear seats would make it more competitive against the Monaro and RX-8 for people that want practicality in a sports car.

However, I wish they'd at least bring in the V35 sedan and f**k the Maxima off.

I test drove a 350GT today. The auto. Only had 8000kms on the clock, I believe. It was imported by the Pilkingtons.

Absolutely lovely GT. I'd love to take a Soarer for a test drive to compare, but if I wanted a luxury coupe, I'd have one in a second. Everything closes with a reassuring solidity. The car responds well to steering, but of course the slushbox dampens throttle response.

The engine feels nice and strong, of course. The VQ35 always does through the midrange. I didn't really get to rev it out or take corners at any high speed, driving through the CBD and all, but its just firm but cushy. Reminds me of my dad's 3 series BMW, but just with power.

Its not something you'd enjoy throwing around a track or down a tight touge road (its a little too heavy and soft), but on a more open flowing road it would be so stable and plush to drive.

The best part was the seats. Electrically adjustable. A velour or alcantara (can't remember which) centre with leather bolsters. They're supportive and so comfortable. People rave about the 350Z seats - they've got nothing on the 350GT seats. And the rear seats look about as usable as on any Skyline coupe, which is a plus.

    • Ah! I actually managed to snag a lightly used set.... that aren't so suitable for me right now. They don't work on a GTT without some cutting or creative heat moulding. I thought about reselling them myself cause I didn't want to murder them, but it looks like I'm probably going to attempt to murder them/melt them because I may as well. @GTSBoy @PranK can somebody close this thread?
    • Hey mate,  I have a set, one is slightly damaged but wont be noticable once installed.  Shoot me a message if your still after them
    • I couldn't wait But, the black constant tension hose clamps were too thick and there wasn't enough clearance at the T/B and I couldn't get it to seat properly, so I had use a silver one there I also added some 3" silicone over the alloy bit that goes through to hole on the radiator support as it looked like it was sitting on the edge of the hole in the radiator support, I never noticed a rattle or anything, but there was a witness mark It is basicly done, and I can live with the silver hose clamp at the T/B, I will get a black clamp for the head vent though where it is attached to the bulkhead fitting  It never stops...LOL, only issue now with the shock tower brace is it slightly touches the under bonnet liner now, if I leave it it will either wear some paint off the brace where it touches, or damage the liner, so I removed the liner to see what I have to work with, with the liner removed I have about 20mm of clearance, but sadly the middle part of the underside of the bonnet is only dusted with paint and looks crap, so I cannot have that, but.... as I have a roll of Carbuilders premium under bonnet insulation in the garage laying around that is only 5.5mm thick (we were going to use it on the boys Patrol, but he crashed the front of it a few months and it was written off, hence why he now drives my old Honda Accord Euro), I'll use the OEM liner as a template and get the Carbuilders stuff fitted up to cover that dusted paint up
    • You have a knack for photography my friend. It makes the 86 look like a complete bucket. The 34 went with you to Europe and back. It's special. (we all feel the same about our 'shitboxes' that every bystander seems to absolutely love)
