I wouldn't do a manual conversion cos I wouldn't be dumb enough to buy an auto in the first place!! Ahhh suckahhhhhh :ninja:

just kidding.. but seriously it's a huge amount of work you would need to have a very unique car in which you passionately loved everything except for the transmission, and planned on keeping the car for at least 5 years.

Sorry to revive this thread...

But want to ask: would you advise against getting an auto (tiptronic) stag? I know that MOST of the models are auto anyway, but as most people say that manual is more fun, get the feel of the car, etc etc etc.

and by the way, currently drive an auto, but want to learn manual (and buy a stag).

If you think you might prefer a manual definitely buy a manual - the conversion is straightforward but pointless if you know you want a manual - best look out for one. Auto is great for city traffic and towing but not so good at higher power levels and no fun on the track.

cheers. What if I told you that I don't know how to drive manual yet, and I'm tossing up between the C34 and an R34 GTT? I want to learn manual and I want either one of these cars but can't quite decide which. For sure, the C34 will be MUCH cheaper. I like both cars for different reasons...And to be honest I would be driving in the city most of the time, will NOT track my car (regardless of which car).

@PN-Mad ah well, I guess indeed that rules out most stags! If M35s are out, then C34 is (obviously) my only other option - and within that, I'd only want a blue or black one, in manual. And even from my limited amount of research so far I know that combination is EXTREMELY hard to find without importing one (a route I don't quite want to go to, if possible) therefore I kind of think stags are effectively ruled out for me =(

Love the car though, definitely thinking of getting myself an M35 as a family car in a few years down the track. Maybe Jetwreck will be selling his by then =)

ok let me put it on record here, i have dibs on jetwreck's m35. I will also pay you a $1 deposit, deal?

$1 and a blowjob!

The main reason I won't do a manual conversion on mine...other than price and man hours...is basically I'm 6'3" tall and I remember driving a manual one and hard time shifting gears comfortably...

plus at the time I brought my car....manuals were going for 25k at the time....

    • thanks for the advice on the box... i was thinking the 6 speed was better for cruising on the highway but on closer inspection and comparison the Rb 5 speed box was not too different...  So the choice is going to be the RB25 box... if I can save up and find one at the right price
    • Thanks Matt, yes that's what i am aiming for. Just going to apply the right voltage and grounds to the dash connector. Hence my search for these pins... any chance you know if these pins are in the same spot as the ones on the S15 Dash connector? as mentioned above on page 8?
    • Yes, unfortunately that's the one. Signal was noisy to begin with; after driving once and looking back at the logs I saw pressure constantly swinging between 0-200psi, or staying at 0 randomly for a few seconds. There's a lot of good sensors that share the same look and feel, so don't presume they're all bad. I bought mine for 20$ off Amazon and I should have read the reviews prior, as it's clear they're junk.  I purchased a lowdollerr motorsports sensor.
