Hi all...im thinking of removing the rear spoiler off my r33 gtst s1....i want a different look, as there are too many gtsts going around with gtr or stealth wings...has anybody got any pictures of how its looks...my car is wine red so if anybody has any pics of a wine red r33 without a rear spoiler that would be great...and yes i would weld in the holes and do a respray...cheers

it will look shit, trust me !!!

if you want the no spoiler look, your going to have to buy a new boot, plastic moild that lifts the top of it up so it doesnt look too stupid, have a close look at your spoiler, ur boot sinks down, and the spoiler takes up the gap

"will look shit, trust me !!!"

Personal taste, lets not forget that HZ GTS's are not Monaros....

If you want to be different get a c/f or fibreglass rear boot which is moulded to be level with the 1/4 panels, they look good. If not then just weld the holes, fill the "slots" where the original wing went and have a smooth lid. Its all personal choice,

Twas pretty easy, just take out some screws and if you change your mind....put the screws back on.

I took the wing off atthe national museum while we were cruising, the cops that roled up couldn't figure out why i was fu**ing with my own car lol.

yeah i took mine off for a while too, maybe 2 days. but after looking at it for a while i came to the conclusion that it didnt really flow. but again its all to do with personal preference.

IMO, i reckon flush mounded lip spoilers look better.

if you run no wing the quarter panels will be exposed.

by memory you can see where the panel wraps up and over, and see the spot welds etc

ie. you won't see a neat flat painted edge...

guess you could bog and spray the bat wing bits but that's alot of effort IMHO

i had the holes welded when i had the paint job done.

also theres a bit that sticks out on the inside of the rear panel that i had flattened so it looks cleaner.

i like it better without the wing.

    • Yep, it was only an option on the Q50 Hybrid.  Same in Japan as far as I know. And doesn't use a centre diff like the Suby's do, so not the same as the WRX.  But it also isn't a reactive AWD like other Nissan AWD vehicles are, eg. Murano/Xtrail/etc.
    • You should have got a Maine Coone then. Only thing is they're big. But so cool, and just like a dog. Or, just get yourself a high performance dog. That'll teach you for wanting Parkour indoors 😛
    • Are you thinking of Bens R32? I don't remember if his went through the bonnet itself, but it went through the chassis rail. Brad (RISKIN) bought it, and turned it into a track car. It's funny how anti people are of Jim Berry now. I remember when I pulled mine out (during an engine change) and inspected it and found it cracking badly. At that point in time so many people were even on SAU, were so pro Jim Berry, and that was after Bens GTR exploded his quite publically.
    • That's one of the reasons I got that breed, they look weird, the other reasons are they small, they are very vocal, and run around like they are on crack, I didn't want a breed that just sits around, these two are like kids on red cordial  My daughter has one, and it's a laugh riot, constantly doing Parkour around the house, sits on her shoulder, plays catch, and constantly runs around the house taking turns chasing the dog around, her Bermese though, just lays around with constant bitch face, and just looks on in utter disgust at the cat and dog playing together
    • I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again.  With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
