I had this mob calling me 100x to try and sell my old R33 GTS-t S1, everything sounded sweet but having no experience in it before I decided against it.

They were almost guaranteeing me sale prices that just weren't heard of in the used car market for my type of car/mods/condition.

yeah i got a call ... every god damn week from them

probably should have listened to them I probably would have sold the car by now :D

lol

Just a word of warning here guys .

When you take your car to one of these car yards on consignment don't forget you are an unsecured creditor ! Lets say they sold your car ( like you authorised them to do ) they bank the money and they happen to go bust before they send you your money then you cant get a cent , you will just line up like all other creditors . The bank will get theirs first ( as they will have a morgage ) then the ATO and then if there is any left ( usualy not ) all other creditors will share a few cents in the dollar and it will take a long time .

Not saying it will happen but it can and in some cases it has in the past .

Don't forget your car can get damaged as well and its up to you to fix

HIGHLY unlikely with NCC as i did my research before letting it go in their yard, been opened since 2001 hasnt gone bust yet, and recently they have taken over 3 car dealerships (shows that its unlikely to go bust easily) as my friend owns a small 4x4 dealership on parra rd and he told me. Yeah its true they charge 395 for detailing, insurance and promoting for 6 weeks, whether your car is sold or not. Thats the same question i asked em, but i was shown a list of 40 people who are looking at buying skylines, names and phone numbers. Plus its easier to sell coz they give finance n warranty (as ive been told) ^_^ its really a matter of trusting a large dealership with your car....

I'm glad it worked for you, as i said in my previous post it probably won't happen ( they go bust ) but it can and it has happened before so beware of what can happen. The other thing is you don't know how much they sell it for but i guess you don't care either as long as you get what you want ..

Don't forget that the fact they have been there for 20 years it doesn't mean they haven't gone broke before ( in this case they may not, i don't know) and the next day they trade again with the same name just a different $2 holding company with no assets at all !

They don't have to offer warranty on cars older than 10 years or with more than 160,000 kms on the clock or cars with a price tag higher than $56,000 ( not sure on the price tag it may have gone up now)

Of course they all offer at least 1 year warranty but that is not worth any more than the paper its written on !

a guy from silviansw.com had his s15 in there he wanted a price for it of say $35,000 ... it was there for a while then they called him up saying theres a lady here saying she is offering $29,000 for it and they talked him into it saying you wont sell it blah blah blah just let it go , so he let it go for $29,000. He got his $29,000 then 6 months later he saw the car driving and he went up to her and asked just out of interest how much did you pay for it and she said $35,000 .....

they pocketed 6 grand from the sale of his car on the sly and nothing he could do about it ... TRUE story

used car dealers, they're all the same, how else do you think they make their money, i wouldnt believe it if its not true.

why would you think they're so happy to take your car and sell it for you, they rip you off and they rip the car buyer off,

If i were to sell my car this way there is no way i would negotiate over the telephone. Would be better if the actual owner of the car is there when the buyer is signging the papers and to see the exact price they payed. Never trust a used car seller.

Consignment doesn't work like that , you are actualy signing the car to the dealer for him to sell as he sees fit , you never going to know the selling price . Its a very risky way to sell a car but most of the times it will work, for me no thanks , i prefer to sell myself and get less money .

its not consignment though, they never charged me any commission or percentage, and i told em i wanted this price and they said they would put a 2grand buffer on it and negotiate from there, if they make any money from the 2grand buffer, e.g sold for 18500 and they made 500 bux, i dont care, they got money and i got money. As long as i got the price i wanted and they didnt charge me any commission or percentage its all good, plus id rather do this then going the trading post wasting money every week and dropping the price so i can get rid of it. dropping the price only looses money which we could have gotten doing it this way, no way id sell my car for 2grand cheaper than what i wanted

dagr81,

You don't understand how it works mate , if you read the contract you will see its consignment it doesn't matter if they get commision or not .

You give them your car and they sell it, i know you don't care what they make as long as you get your money . What i'm trying to say is sometimes you wont get your money or the car, if they happen to go broke in the meantime.

Anyway this time it worked for you so good for you, i'm just trying to warn others. As long as they know and are prepared to take the risk its fine but i'm sure most people don't realise that they are unsecured creditors.

mmm.. i'm with these guys now and it's been 3 weeks and no news..

what DaGr81 say about the contract is correct, they supposely make their money on financing and insurance. but wouldn't surprise me if they sell for higher and give you the minimum... but that's true for all used car dealers

i'm going to try find out how much i can get for trading in direct...

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
