I've just read the entire thread ... if it were a book I wouldnt have been able to put it down.. lots of drama, etc. very good reading.

Really like the work done. Engine bay looks pretty awesome and times very good. Attitude needs a little work... and that can be fixed.. although doesnt help when "been there done that wise people" provoke you.

Hey did you wire up those ignition leads yourself? my RB25DET has PTU thingy sitting on the back of the engine covers and normal kind of wiring to the coil packs, much different to your nicely insulated setup.

Nice intercooler - what brand / how much.

Nice throttle body - what brand / how much.

Nice plenum - what brand / how much

drool.

:-)

Yes i wired the leads myself.

intercooler cooler & plenium is from WILD 1 MOTORSPORT

throttle body is a billet Holley

Car is still going

gonna bump the boost up soon

Yes the car has run a 10.8 second pass @ 129 MPH

on pump fuel.

Edited by MR331307

all runs except the 10 second run are on

www.wild1motorsport.com

the car is making a total of 508 hp with 18 psi of boost and 591 with 50 shot of gas

the car should run 135 MPH but due to gear changing and backing off at the end it didnt

im putting the cage in and am in the process of purchasing a Dog box in order for me to reach my new target A 9 second pass out of a standard motor.

hopefully ill achieve it before something goes wrong

i will be increasing the boost to 24 psi with nitrous to try to acheive this

Edited by MR331307

this is just gettin to much to swallow..9s on a standard 25 is b.s..no headgasket no cams..open your engine ya might get a nice suprise in the form of forgies etc etc..maybe youll make a 1000hp on a std 25 next..

somethin aint right ya say your cars makin 591 on a standard engine then i question bout ya for sale thread were it says ya have forgies etc etc and ya say nah thats another motor so actually that motor hasnt made that power cuz it aint even in the car right??so ya bullshittin to sell ya car???

My god everyone stop tryin to take the jam outta his donut. He's pushing the boundaries of what everyone generally believes to be an accepted limit for a great engine. Maybe his motor was built on easter or something, but i distinctly remember him saying "i'll open the motor to prove it's standard if someone pays for it".

Not exactly damning proof perhaps, but he's spent hours compiling videos on his website, tuning on the dyno, and posting up his results on this forum to show how much effort he's spent working on this supposedly underrated engine.

I think the only way he's going to have to settle this is to go for that 9 sec pass, and if/when it blows, pull it apart and photograph all the internals to prove it was nissan all along. If he's been honest, then i'm sure he'll have no problems showing the world.

I personally love the work he's doing for the rb25, because no one bothers for big hp out of these engines when there's the rb26/2j - so he's doing us proud.

Just what i think of course... :D

why would he need some one to pay for it?? he obviously does the work himself right ..

the car does 10s thats a bad ass car..but 9s on a stocky some one call nissan...we have a winner..

its dickheads like you that wreak a good thread. If you doubt it go for your life, but when it blows and i upload picts of the standard motor, dont be suprised.

I dont think any 1 has done any serious reasearch into these motors and only assume about them based on other peoples mistakes.I have done endles work on the car and bolt ons.

WITH MY CAR FOR SALE IT STATES THAT IT COMES WITH A FRESH BUILT RACE MOTOR IF YOU CAN READ which isnt in the car and the car still maintains the standard motor. Can you stop wreaking my reasearch and information i am sharing with people,if you got a problem pm me.

as for paying me to strip it

if it hasnt blown why should i strip it waste of time. when it blows i will.If you want me to prove you a point then you can pay me to pull my own motor out and strip it to show you its standard.

Mate i agree and thank you

lol dude many people have done research on rb25s..

i found holes in ya for sale thread makin me wonder so it makes me wonder bout the rest of the shit you claim..

how am i wrecking your research???

i said your car is bad ass but come on now 9s on a stocky..you should work for nismo..

why do you get so mad wtf u expect no people questioning you..when you just join and from day one u claim this monster figures on stock engines..

ya think the jaPS havent been there done that for years or somethin? your just doin research in 2006 on a 10-13 yr old car..

What holes

maybe holes in your eyes that couldnt see

COMES WITH FRESH BUILT RACE MOTOR

and also the car has made this power with the standard motor which is still in the car RUNNING.

i dont know what it will make with the other one as i havent installed it.

If you doubt it like i said bring with you $880 to pull the motor out and $600 to strip the engine down and i will glady strip it.If not then keep your comments to yourself.

Keep in mind the car is running 18psi

it is running 50 shot of gas

i can comment if i feel like it..thats what forums are for.. i will be coming down to see ur car with mates once ur ecu is back..do you honestly think ya will pull 9s on stock engine? when do you think this engine is gonna blow..gtr engines die with 400kw man..how much power ya hopin with 24 psi and a 75 shot??

You are welcome to come view the car and if i fell like it ill take some1 for a drive

i honestly dont think its capable to run a 9 but i didnt think it was capable to run a 10

when it is gonna blow is .........

i have seen them blow with the standard setup.so mine is far from that

there is only a certain limit of difference between GTR & GTS motors

About my power i aint really concerned im more interested in making more torque as this is what will make me run faster times

    • Wheel alignment immediately. Not "when I get around to it". And further to what Duncan said - you cannot just put camber arms on and shorten them. You will introduce bump steer far in excess of what the car had with stock arms. You need adjustable tension arms and they need to be shortened also. The simplest approach is to shorten them the same % as the stock ones. This will not be correct or optimal, but it will be better than any other guess. The correct way to set the lengths of both arms is to use a properly built/set up bump steer gauge and trial and error the adjustments until you hit the camber you need and want and have minimum bump steer in the range of motion that the wheel is expected to travel. And what Duncan said about toe is also very true. And you cannot change the camber arm without also affecting toe. So when you have adjustable arms on the back of a Skyline, the car either needs to go to a talented wheel aligner (not your local tyre shop dropout), or you need to be able to do this stuff yourself at home. Guess which approach I have taken? I have built my own gear for camber, toe and bump steer measurement and I do all this on the flattest bit of concrete I have, with some shims under the tyres on one side to level the car.
    • Thought I would get some advice from others on this situation.    Relevant info: R33 GTS25t Link G4x ECU Walbro 255LPH w/ OEM FP Relay (No relay mod) Scenario: I accidentally messed up my old AVS S5 (rev.1) at the start of the year and the cars been immobilised. Also the siren BBU has completely failed; so I decided to upgrade it.  I got a newer AVS S5 (rev.2?) installed on Friday. The guy removed the old one and its immobilisers. Tried to start it; the car cranks but doesnt start.  The new one was installed and all the alarm functions seem to be working as they should; still wouldn't start Went to bed; got up on Friday morning and decided to have a look into the no start problem. Found the car completely dead.  Charged the battery; plugged it back in and found the brake lights were stuck on.  Unplugging the brake pedal switch the lights turn off. Plug it back in and theyre stuck on again. I tested the switch (continuity test and resistance); all looks good (0-1kohm).  On talking to AVS; found its because of the rubber stopper on the brake pedal; sure enough the middle of it is missing so have ordered a new one. One of those wear items; which was confusing what was going on However when I try unplugging the STOP Light fuses (under the dash and under the hood) the brake light still stays on. Should those fuses not cut the brake light circuit?  I then checked the ECU; FP Speed Error.  Testing the pump again; I can hear the relay clicking every time I switch it to ON. I unplugged the pump and put the multimeter across the plug. No continuity; im seeing 0.6V (ECU signal?) and when it switches the relay I think its like 20mA or 200mA). Not seeing 12.4V / 7-9A. As far as I know; the Fuel Pump was wired through one of the immobiliser relays on the old alarm.  He pulled some thick gauged harness out with the old alarm wiring; which looks to me like it was to bridge connections into the immobilisers? Before it got immobilised it was running just fine.  Im at a loss to why the FP is getting no voltage; I thought maybe the FP was faulty (even though I havent even done 50km on the new pump) but no voltage at the harness plug.  Questions: Could it be he didnt reconnect the fuel pump when testing it after the old alarm removal (before installing the new alarm)?  Is this a case of bridging to the brake lights instead of the fuel pump circuit? It's a bit beyond me as I dont do a lot with electrical; so have tried my best to diagnose what I think seems to make sense.  Seeking advice if theres for sure an issue with the alarm install to get him back here; or if I do infact, need an auto electrician to diagnose it.
    • Then, shorten them by 1cm, drop the car back down and have a visual look (or even better, use a spirit level across the wheel to see if you have less camber than before. You still want something like 1.5 for road use. Alternatively, if you have adjustable rear ride height (I assume you do if you have extreme camber wear), raise the suspension back to standard height until you can get it all aligned properly. Finally, keep in mind that wear on the inside of the tyre can be for incorrect toe, not just camber
    • I know I have to get a wheel alignment but until then I just need to bring the rear tyres in a bit they're wearing to the belt on the inside and brand new on the outside edge. I did shorten the arms a bit but got it wrong now after a few klms the Slip and VDC lights come on. I'd just like to get it to a point where I can drive for another week or two before getting an alignment. I've had to pay a lot of other stuff recently so doing it myself is my only option
    • You just need a wheel alignment after, so just set them to the same as current and drive to the shop. As there are 2 upper links it may also be worth adding adjustable upper front links at the same time; these reduce bump steer when you move the camber (note that setting those correctly takes a lot longer as you have to recheck the camber at each length of the toe arm, through a range of movement, so you could just ignore that unless the handling becomes unpredictable)
