Hey guys, My mate just came over and showed me his new airfilter on his S2000. He also told me he had a drag with a 350Z and whooped his ass.

Now my car comes in about a month and i was hoping that the Skyline would be faster than his S2000.

Mine has Full exhaust with HKS Airpod. I may install a BC of somesort. I also have big rears (235s) and fully adjustable suspension. He has just an airpod.

So what do u guys think? Is he BSin on the 350z or is the S2000 a really fast car.

Thanks:)

Well there was a thread a while back about cars that you've 0wn3d at the traffic lights and it not like Skyline owners do not partake in such activities.

It does 6.2 in stock form. You can be sure there are many many many Skylines here that'll do 5 seconds without much problem. So take them down if they are worthy contenders. What's the harm? It's not like the cops are likely to bust you.

youre all quick to bag the S2000, but have any of you driven one? theyre pretty quick. they may not have the brute power of a R33 but as a car theyre very nice to drive, quick through the corners and have a fair bit of power for such a light car. dont underestimate them

Who's talking about M3s? M3s are luxury coupes & cost twice as

much as Honda S2000s. I have owned an R33 GTSt & currently

own an S2000.While the Honda is a very well balanced car & has

excellent top end power(between 8 & 9000rpm) there is no way it

will beat an R33.Honda quotes 14.9 - 15.1 for the 1/4 mile. Most average R33 GTSts should do low 14s to mid 13s.The mid range torque of the 2.5L turbo would walk away from a n/a 2L no matter

how much top end it's got.

The Honda has style, class, & is beautiful to drive.I really enjoy driving it with the top down & if I happen to pull up next to a Skyline I'll enjoy watching him dissappear & continue my crusin.

(Then if I run into him later in my R34 GTR it will be a different story)Skylines Rock.

s2000 has 174kW from memory. Lot less torque of course which the 33 has tons of which is where it gets all it's get up and go from.

The s2000 is all about balance but I'm sure if you can afford the $80,000+ asking price of a s2000, a true Skyline fan would be after a 33 or 34 GT-R.

Actually The S2000 has 176kw which is the highest specific output (88kw per litre) of any n/a 2 litre in the world.

The Honda only weighs 1270 kg - so 'on paper' you would expect it to be quicker than a 184kw 1450 kg Skyline.

But 'quoted power figures' relate to top end power outputs. In the real world it is mid range torque that accelerates the car. From a rolling start at say 100kmhr the Honda would probably stay with

the heavier Nissan, but off the mark - see ya atmo.Turbos are king. The S2000 would leave the R33 behind on really tight bends.

It has a true 50/50 weight distribution & is very well balanced.Providing the driver keeps it in the right gear & up in VTEC the whole time the R33 would struggle to keep up.But again - when the road opens up a bit, turbo power hunts it down.

I am not talking about GTRs here. The Honda would only have an advantage over a GTR in very tight corners like basket range/lenswood.Start heading up the gorge or somewhere like that & the stovetop tailights would be out of sight very quickly.

I have spent many hours comparing these cars & they both have a very different flavour.

shoulda seen this R33 that ripped me apart the other week.. mine is no slowpoke, but he left me several lengths in front in a matter of 2 seconds... that was seriously quick! and it wasn't a GTR either.

Some little guy in a new cooper S thought he would have a go as well, now that was just funnnnny..

p.s. sau does not endorse racing fast off the line.. it could get you in trouble. This has been a bullshit fast community message from the dumb ass party, canbeerra

It's like comparing chalk and cheese. S2000's r cruisers rather than bruisers, But they do have a fair amount of power when your right foot becomes pedal heavy. Both cars have their points but in a full on drag a lightly modded R33 has the better torque and acceleration to outpace an S2000 - You need some serious mods on the Honda to compete. Munro laid down the stats and discussed it all correctly about the VTEC's prowess and the S2000's abilities.

    • Don't even try to run it on the stock ECU if you're going to have the boost controller bring boost above ~10 psi. I've already told you that. If you use the Nistune ECU, you will need to CAREFULLY read the available documentation for Neo tuning, and read some threads on the Nistune forums, to discover the various things you have to do to prevent the ECU from going bananas when the boost is too high. The is a table associated with th boost sensor that must be modified to prevent it from shitting the bed. This is just one of the things that you will need to do to the tune in Nistune, because the Neo turbo ECU will be expecting to see a number of things (such as the TCS) that are not there, and you have to block the DTCs on those. It is totally not surprising to me that you are having the problems that you are, but the solutions to these problems have been known for >15 years. So just get it done.
    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
