I've heard a few stories of putting a cup of ATF in your fuel working a treat. anybody know of any draw backs other than the obvious ie pinging etc? apparently it does a better job than using injector cleaner but.. that's also made for the job... I have a ultrasonic bath I can gain access to, but achieving the same result just by driving the car seems alot more appealing than having it off the road and apart for a few days.

You remove the injectors and take it to a specialist who cleans them ultrasonically.

That by far is the best way, but it costs about 20 bux an injector.

But the Techron is probably the best stuff you can get in a bottle besides removing the injectors.

I got quoted $300 for ultrasonic cleaning by driftking in brissie. $700 for a service made me fairly sure they were rip off merchants. I'm going to pull an injector out today and have a look at it under a microscope today, see if i can see anything. I think I'll just bite the bullet and pull the lot out and ultrasonic bath em. Thanks for the replies guys, putting oil through my system didn't really seem like the best thing to do...

Out of interest, what is the price of hiflowing injectors? What sort of kw are they good for? Is it worth it or is it better just to buy newies?

I wouldnt put them into an ultra sonic bath that you clean your jewelry. Thats how you ruin them cos it can damage the solenoids.

The professionals have them hooked up to a rail and pulse the injectors with cleaning fluid whilst the *nozzles* are in the ultra sonic bath, not the whole unit!

Hey Busky

Thanks for the advice, yeah I've been doing a fair bit of researching on the net today (god i love work on the weekends), and as always, I have found that it's not as simple as it first seems.

The U/S bath that I have access to is actually in the lab here at work, but yeah essentially I think it's the same jobbie as the jewellery cleaners. why dont they have an injector rail here dammit! lol.

I'm pretty much sure now that I'm going to get the injectors hiflowed now anyway. I did take injector 1 out today and found the nozzle to be completely spotless under the microscope. The inlet filter had a bit of junk on it, so I think I'll just run some of that techron gear through it, if I do anything, before hiflowing them.

To clean the filters most people 'backflush' the injector but its pretty hard to do with the injector off the car cos you need to open the injector somehow. (And dont try it with a battery!)

If you're gonna get them high flowed, just leave em alone and let the guy do the work haha.

Btw Techron is good on removing deposits on the backside of the intake valves aswell.

yeah the way I figure it, it cant hurt to put a bottle through anyway. I just have to wait till i'm in the vicinity of a place that stocks it. I luuuuurve living in the sticks <_<

I kinda broke one of the little legs off the pintle cap too :P from what I can find they're mainly to stop residue build up, so it should be fine in the interim.

you would probably be better of getting s15 480cc ones or nismo 550cs instead of hiflowing

you will need an aftermarket ecu to support those.

i am not sure how hiflow injectors will work with the stock ecu

as i think the latency would be the same for idle control ? i have no idea on that matter sorry

yeah as you can see i'm still learning too. my laymans understanding suggests that the stock ecu would not have the ability to tune to different flow injectors, regardless if they're flowed stockies or other.

oil in your fuel???

i heard if you get sand and pour it in your intake, while someone is reving to 7000, ports your head. good for around 100rwkw

holy crap really!!! I'm so going to do that tonight!!!

Idiot

I'd appreciate if you didn't turn my legitimate thread into just another spam thread, thanks. Take your "phat" arse to boostcruising if that's your thing. There is evidence that it actually works, mechanics have been doing it for years.

Jeremy.

    • It is a kunfine Android screen . Does anyone know the wirering diagram of the fuga ??
    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
