I got a 15second penalty on the back track for hitting cones, I think that would've cost me and apparently its a record for the biggest penalty on the Long wang. I messed up!

The skid pan was soo wet in the morning before it dried up, sort of like driving on a lake!!

I can't believe we still finished with such good results overall considering the weather in the morning.

That means Dane and I are 1 round each. Looks like the next one will be interesting!!

Wasnt a massively noticiable difference in the times between groups on the back track but there was a pretty big difference in times between groups on the skidpan.

For example between me and Scotsman -

Mines Datsun Run 1 -

Snowman - 43.12

Scotsman - 37.16

Schappy Run 1

Snowman - 37.28

Scotsman - 32.50

But...

LongWang Run 1

Snowman - 58.09

Scotsman - 59.13

Given that Chris should have killed me but we both ended up with 2 very bad runs where we both lost a lot of points so in the end it was very very close.

Infact just about everyone made a few mistakes this time - except for Christian in the forrester which is why he's finished in the top 10 (plus he drove that car well)

Also - we did use any results from the 2nd run of the Wang Busta because there was a significant number of cars that didnt get that run due to the storm.

Anyways - time for me to go find some dinner.

Juz - take that result out and the one where you stopped on the skidpan trying to restart the car and you'd have had a super result.

are we still able to see the times even though they dont count? my 2nd run on the back track was my quicker one

*sorry misread*, thought you meant the backtrack runs (longwang)

That was while adam was driving. So he probably would've been a fair bit higher in the ranks.

so dane beat juz over a technicality? weaksauce! :P

Although checkin out the results, I can't really give Adam (newton) shit for driving a girly car like I was at the start of the day.

w00t for lowest score and being the first ones home. We ran into the red MX5 on the way back as well, looking at the scores it looks like it suffered a similar predicament to us.

Snowman - so does that equal first mean I get 3rd? :P

And that's a pretty amazing finish for first place considering! :)

Pete - when do we get to see vids - I can't wait! :)

LOL...that means he wins RWD

Champion :D

^^was a really good effort considering the wetness in the morning and the lack of opportunity to get some heat in his tyres

still... I'm off to buy semis tomorrow! :P

I got beaten by a 4 cylinder too ... eew

19 Justin Masters R33 GTST 356

Pretty happy with that for my first time out :D Didn't think I'd do that well, but I guess not hitting cones is the really important bit. Definitely plenty to work on for next one, and lots of room for improvement :P Will see if I can do some more skidpan work before the next deca. So much fun!!!

    • No, code 21 is very straightforward. It can only be the things described in that diagnostic flow. In fact it has no way of knowing that the spark plug resistance is out of spec.
    • Hi, SteveL Thank you very much for your reply, you seem to be the only person on the net who has come up with a definitive answer for which I am grateful. The "Leak" was more by way of wet bubbles when the pedal was depressed hard by a buddy while trying to gey a decent pedal when bleeding the system having fitted the rebuilt BM50 back in the car, which now makes perfect sense. A bit of a shame having just rebuilt my BM50, I did not touch the proportioning valve side of things, the BM50 was leaking from the primary piston seal and fluid was running down the the Brake booster hence the need to rebuild, I had never noticed any fluid leaking from that hole previously it only started when I refitted it to the car. The brake lines in the photo are "Kunifer" which is a Copper/Nickel alloy brake pipe, but are only the ones I use to bench bleed Master cylinders, they are perfectly legal to use on vehicles here in the UK, however the lines on the car are PVF coated steel. Thanks again for clearing this up for me, a purchase of a new BMC appears to be on the cards, I have been looking at various options in case my BM50 was not repairable and have looked at the HFM BM57 which I understand is manufactured in Australia.
    • Well the install is officially done. Filled with fluid and bled it today, but didn't get a chance to take it on a test drive. I'll throw some final pics of the lines and whatnot but you can definitely install a DMAX rack in an R33 with pretty minor mods. I think the only other thing I had to do that isn't documented here is grind a bit of the larger banjo fitting to get it to clear since the banjos are grouped much tighter on the DMAX rack. Also the dust boots from a R33 do not fit either fyi, so if you end up doing this install for whatever reason you'll need to grab those too. One caveat with buying the S15 dust boots however is that the clamps are too small to fit on the R33 inner tie rod since they're much thicker so keep the old clamps around. The boots also twist a bit when adjusting toe but it's not a big deal. No issues or leaks so far, steering feels good and it looks like there's a bit more lock now than I had before. Getting an alignment on Saturday so I'll see how it feels then but seems like it'll be good to go
