VHR32
I want to make a custom alloy twin feed fuel rail for my RB. Does anyone know what is the best position for the inlet/outlet hoses? I was thinking an inlet on each end with a centre return? Or is it better to have a centre feed and returns on each end? Please help! paulr33
curious what problem you are trying to solve? Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2015452 Share on other sites
VHR32
I just want to get an even fuel delivery to all cylinders. Ive had no. 1 piston detonate and know a few others with the same problem and we think it's due to that cylinder being the last in the rail. WRX's have this problem too. Isn't it common for GTR's to have a dual feed or centre feed rail?! Al
I would go with the two feeds at each end and the return in the middle, but i really doubt this will fix your problem. Craved
why not run to separate feeds to 2 separate rails.. flowing to only 3 cyls each.. only an idea.. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2016199 Share on other sites
VHR32
Ive just spent hours last night looking at pics of high powered GTR's and most seem to feed in each end and out in the centre, so looks like i'll give it a go this way. Thanks for your thoughts. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2016520 Share on other sites
R31Nismoid
Isn't it common for GTR's to have a dual feed or centre feed rail?! Not really... but then why you comparing an RB26 with your RB20? I've seen GTR's well into the 350rwkw range using stock fuel rails. RB20's well into the 250rwkw+ range Are you making more than 250rwkw with your RB20? Could be bad fuel pressure... reg... fuel pump Bad injector Poor tuning I would be skeptical of it being fuel rail related if no-one else has the problem you are Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2016884 Share on other sites
Sydneykid
I just want to get an even fuel delivery to all cylinders. Ive had no. 1 piston detonate and know a few others with the same problem and we think it's due to that cylinder being the last in the rail. WRX's have this problem too.Isn't it common for GTR's to have a dual feed or centre feed rail?! Since the pressure regulator is located at #1 cylinder it actually has the highest pressure. So it should run richer, hence less detonation. In very high power applications #6 is the one that suffers the lower fuel pressure, it's one of the reasons why we run the highest flowing injector in #6. Keep in mind The mines R34GTR (~600 BHP) uses the standard fuel rail. The Gibson R32GTR circuit race cars (~645 bhp) used the standard fuel rail. PHaT MR30
Hey Matt, i thought i told you to come have a look at my dual feed rail??? PS Ash.. Matts car makes don't quote me ~200+rwkw using a HKS turbo Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2017108 Share on other sites
VHR32
Thanks Sydneykid, fuel rails aren't my thing so I knew someone would have some info. Got me wondering now.......might be just fuel pump or a dodgy injector, no. 1 has had a hammering over time. I forgot you had a new fuel rail Tim! Yeah somewhere around 200RWKW, 17psi, std 270cc injectors and 070 fuel pump Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2019995 Share on other sites
PHaT MR30
id dare say its pushing the limits of the injectors Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/109441-custom-fuel-rail/#findComment-2020699 Share on other sites
