Hi everyone, this is my first post on your great forum and I am excited to be here.

I am from Brisbane and got my First R33 GTR a week ago, but after only having it for 24 hrs, the car ended up in the work shop with a big end bearing done.

Lucky for Stat Warranties I dont have to pay for the repairs, which only started today mind you.

But after lots of phone calls to top mechanics I found out that the UNBREAKABLE GTR ENGINE, doesn't like crap oil and late services, so just a warning to all you GTR owners, take car of your babies and services them on time and with good quality oil.

As for me, hopefully next week I will be able to enjoy my much awaited arrival of my car, I have prestige plates on the way HER GTR. Yes thats right, I am 27 year old wife and mother of a 2 year old boy, but have always loved my cars, I have owned more cars then I have had birthdays including a Soarer, 3 WRX's, and many more. But I think the GTR will stay apart of me for ever now.

I look forward to chatting with you all.

Regards

HER GTR

Hi Kaylene and welcome.

Now that you are a GTR owner - I hope you don't mind stayting poor. :P

I was speaking with a performance shop recently who said

"GTR's are like heroin - once you start you can't stop" :P

Best of luck with your new toy - I'm sure you will be as happy as I am (and as poor).

Cheers

thanks, but lucky for me the first expense is massive and covered under my stat warranty.

After a talked the yard down massivally on their price, (I work in the Car Wholesale business) then they have had to fork out more money for my engine rebuild, hee hee hee. After a few arguments and threats of legal matters, I always get what I want.

thanks, I know I did well.

But I was completely in the right, see as I said I only had the car for 20 hrs, and stat warranties cover everything mechanical that stops the car from performing the duties it is meant to! Going for a start!!!! and it covers you for 1 month or 1000 kms on an import. So there you go, I was just very lucky that it happened after only 200kms of me having the car. Now I get a new rebuild our of it.

I was looking at the cruise that you are organising for the Sunshine Coast in QLD in a few weeks. Was thinking about going but I have a toddler, is anyone else bring kids or sound I wait till I can pass him onto the grandparents.

Hi all, yes my husband loves performance cars as well and he just thought he had struck gold when he met me 6 years ago and found out that I loved cars as well.

But he has a work 4WD so I am the lucky one when the hot car. I cant wait to start cleaning it up (a bit of paint, new front spoiler, mags etc)

I look forward to chating to you all.

Feel free to deposit any relevant detail of your unfortunate engine demise in my thread below and looking forward to seeing the car with kiddy seat in a couple of months (when I crawl home to Brisvegas)

What are you doing to your engine? are you going the forged internal route? or are you keeping it stock?

Post what mods are done. Im really interested!!!

I am a new GTR owner and i live in Canada, GTR's and the Skyline scene is my life!!

    • @Murray_Calavera iam just considering options 🙂 of course it is very expensive so that why i ask here 🙂  @joshuaho96 I looked at that GCG hybrid(i remember looking at it few weeks before) So this is "that" hybrid where i send them my turbo and they upgrade the inside to Garrett stuff and then they send it back. It cost around 1200-1300 USD which is FAR cheaper than the HKS and it is what iam looking for(i just do not have experience like this...to send something off to "upgrade" ) @tylink720 that is like 150 USD turbo no? 😄 I dont think i have the "ease on my mind" with this kind of turbo. I just put over 7000k USD to "LINK" up my engine...dont want to blow it up with cheap turbo 😄     EDIT: https://www.cj-motor.com/gcg-turbo-charger-for-nissan-rb20det-rb25det-high?srsltid=AfmBOooVeOZ6CZ6r1AIv5m-KPaa6BvudIPJTY8LW78khkd-gQlsaCht9 I looked at this and it seems ok? It is that CGC hybrid and it costs around 1250 USD (with back shipping). Do any of you have experience with this hybrid on NEO turbo? I quickly look thru the forum/web and it seems very good.

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
